I don’t know the answer but you need to ensure it’s the right type of  thread ie female if fixing into male and visa versa. Also I was supplied with the incorrect type despite the photo showing the correct type! As it’s for a different make of machine check thread size also. You may have know this so sorry if it sounds patronising.

It does with a little "trimming" of the housing and is INCREDIBLY difficult to do, it's not worth the risk in my opinion. Just get one of those superb twist-on stainless steel single-hole replacements from here. My ECF01 has been transformed and is now as good as my old Sage was ;-)

Hi, The model Gaggia Classic 2014 has the connection slightly internal inside the outer shell, how best to strip it to get o the connection?

I fitted it to a Gaggia Baby Twin so can't speak about the Classic but it did need the machine to be dismantled to get at the connection which was pretty straightforward. I found a video on the web which went through the replacement step by step and there were plenty of forums and advice pages on converting a Classic so you should find a guide there.. As for the wand it takes a couple of tries to get used to it - a couple of drops of washing up liquid in milk jug of water is a lot cheaper and easier to see what is going on than milk for practising and after a couple of goes it is a doddle. It gives good foam every time, heats up the milk quickly and is easier to both use and clean. A dental floss brush is useful for keeping the inside of the spout clear between more thorough cleanings
