Review: Exceptional print quality and a great value - So far I've used ~90% of this spool and plan to order more from this product line. This filament outperforms others I've used in this price range and matches some of the more expensive ones in terms of build quality and tolerances. The filament is not as brittle as other translucent ones I have printed with in the past. I've had no issues with build plate adhesion using 50-60°C and no issues with over/under extrusion. The color and translucency of this product is amazing. I have used this to print items with walls ranging in thickness from 0.4-4.0 mm and all retain the translucent nature. The only possibly downside would be if you wanted to hide infill, but then you wouldn't be using a translucent filament. Review: Nice PLA and great color - I told my son and daughter to pick out their favorite color of filament and I would make something for them. My son picked out this nice see-through blue color from 3D Solutech. I was happy to see it was American made and at a very reasonable price! The color is fantastic. The right color blue for the Detroit fans in my family too. The "Benchy at Sea" wave stand looks realistic with the see-through blue. The filament was within spec when I checked it, and it printed fine right in the middle of the temperature range stated on 3D Solutech's website. No issues so far at all. I'm new at 3D printing, so I don't have much experience with very many brands. But the large American flag on the box, the ease of which this filament printed, and the reasonable price will have me trying other colors of 3D Solutech's filament in the future.

Great filament at a great price!
Great filament for the price. The See through Blue is an awesome color, larger prints with more infill you'll obviously lose the translucent appearance unless you hold it up to strong light however it has a nice shimmer to it that you won't get with normal blue PLA so still a big plus. I've purchased a few of these spools and have had no trouble with tangles as other people have mentioned here. Every spool rolled out perfectly, we are printing very large items that consume an entire spool at a time (1.25 spools actually) so our print jobs run 20-25 hours straight without a single kink. Have always been a fan of this brand for the price and will continue to purchase from them!

More pink than purple.
Prints nice and smooth, as usual from solutech. Great filament. I might call it see through bright pink rather than purple. Because it's very much hot pink. If you need neon pink you are in luck with this.

Vibrant Color - Fault Free - Great Price
I've been using 3D Solutech PLA for almost a year now. I've purchased just about every color to make items for my grandkids. The colors print just as bright and vibrant as they are pictured. I've printed many rolls from beginning to end with ZERO defects or problems. The most popular colors with my grand daughters are "See Thru Purple" and" Glow In The Dark" (super bright in the dark). The packaging is air tight and they even include some swag stickers in each package. The boxes are perfect for shelf storage with a cut out so you can see the spool color without opening the box. They also include a clever "loose end" retainer clip so you don't get tangles or you can use the handy double punched holes in either side of the metal spool holders to secure your loose end. You will enjoy running this material. Made by 100% USA Materials! 🇺🇸

Very Good PLA
Really enjoy this PLA - Writing review for Solutech - ALL PLA. I have bought six different rolls, (Black, White, Translucent Red, Translucent Green, Glow in the Dark, and Real Orange.) and absolutely love the prints. The black is amazing - and the translucent colors are out of this world!! Great prints and great adhesion. I am using a Flashforge Creator Pro, Nozzle 200, and bed at 50. Always an awesome print. I have NOT had any problems with the rolls being tangled. All of them have been good so far. I have used far more "name brand" pla and not have the great results as this. Looking forward to trying some of their other colors and materials for prints!!!!

It prints...ish.
Previously I have used Hatchbox and 3d Hero filament. WIth hatchbox it was solid grey and went through a full spool. This was followed by 1.8 spools of 3d Hero transluscent (clear). Aside from problems with my initial Ender 3 which were eventually resolved the prints came out nice and clean on the replacement after (more tweaks) and a good quality slicer profile (Fat Dragon Games). I had high hopes for the Solutech translucent orange for a project I am working on involving LED light pads and RPG terrain. Immediately on the glass bed the filament stuck like a charm for about 20 minutes then the print came apart so I had to clean the bed, put some glue stick down and restart. Second print stuck like a charm and printed a fairly large piece... until the last 1/8 inch of the print where part of the adhesion came undone. When the print finished the walls of the piece felt rather... flexible and squishy. Nowhere near the hardness of a print with Hatchbox (which I find dry and powdery) or the 3d Hero clear (which is hard as stone) using the same slicer settings. I felt like I could literally smash the model in my fingers if I wanted to. SO hard clearcoat it was to save the model. A couple coats of paint and it hardened up but I shouldn't have to have done this to save the model. I thought perhaps my print bed or extruder were out of wack so I re-adjusted them and printed some smaller pieces. This time the prints looked absolutely flawless, though the print took a bit longer to complete than I would have hoped. That said when it was finished I was excited to get them off the glass. Unfortunately these pieces were every bit as "crunchy" and brittle feeling as before. I could crush the models between my fingers if I wanted. I will be able to save them with a hard clearcoat of spraypaint but again... the expectation is that the models be as hard and strong as they possibly can be and this folks... just isn't it. Pictures won't tell the story on this. Its a sound and flimsiness I didn't expect. Too bad. I was really hoping this would be the stuff!

Very impressed with the quality of this PLA filament !
I am pretty new to 3D printing less than a year so far but I have had the ups and downs which I believe to be normal during the learning curve with almost anything and one of the most important things I have learned so far is that the quality of the filament is one of the Most important things but in a way I want to also say Thank you to the "Other" brands I have tried before I found this filament because I wouldn't have learned to tear down my extruder and clean the nozzle so many times or the countless failed prints because of poor adhesion or the brittleness. Well Thank You 3D Solutech for the great quality and value! I have been printing all day and All great prints No hassles!!!! Also they are from USA so that is another win in my book. Time to go through my files and see what to print next.

Doesn't adhere. Wouldn't buy again.
Bought 8 reels of different colours when on offer Xmas 2018. Good Price. But just to warn folk looking to buy filament in the future. I wouldn't buy this PLA filament again nor would I recommend others do so. Had no issues with other brandless filaments. But have major issues with this adhering to the bed This is on the popular Creality Ender 3 with a mirror bed. The Black printed flawlessly with no issues. Had to majorly play around with temperature to get the orange to work. As it stands the Real Blue, Navy and See Through Purple just aren't adhering. Yet to test White, Apple Green and Real Red. A number of Reddit threads reporting similar to myself. Looks like a brand trading on a previously good reputation that have changed the formula and knackered their product.

Works great in my monoprice maker select
Had no issues with this filament. Would buy again.

Gran color

very good semi-translucent colour
the pigment in the pla requires a slightly higher print temp so that the filament doesn't under extrude.

See trough is borderline
Nice printing like always with your PLA, but it's not see trough a lot.
