Quality Replacement Motor Delivered Next Day to Enable Cost-effective and Timely Repair
Used to repair Honeywell V4073A1039 3-port Mid-position valve (Y-plan). Warning: particular failed valve was over 25 years old (identifiable by not having a dimple on the top cover), it requires all four nuts to be removed to release the complete Motor head. This means a drain down or water bungs etc are needed to avoid water release. The later version with a dimple on the cover only needs two nuts to be undone to replace the Motor head and remains water-tight. This doubly makes the motor replacement the most cost effective and best course for repair. **Warning** Only competent persons should attempt this repair. Completely Power-off your heating system to isolate mains from the valve before opening valve cover (best remove fuse and safe-isolate). Remove two simple screws to release the failed motor which was clearly u/s as it turned by hand much easier than the new. Fitted the new motor and connected using Wago connectors - not the less positive wire-nuts supplied. Very pleased so far, as this high quality cost-effective repair option looks v.good so far. Valve control signals enabled the boiler to operate correctly so we have CH again.

Does the job
My Honeywell motorised valve developed an intermittent fault within a couple of months of being fitted. Testing showed that the motor was faulty, and this was an easy replacement.

It fits the Head 4000 3916 - 001 of the Honeywell V4043H1056 (2-way zone valve)
It fits perfectly the Head 4000 3916 - 001 of the Honeywell V4043H1056 (2-way zone valve). Price-wise, it is half the cost of the original one (I got it for £12, while the original is for £25). Replacing is straightforward (only one screw, and you don't even need to remove the head from the valve). The only downside is that it seems to be a bit more "rough" than the original motor (I suspect poor quality of the gear or the lubricant). I cannot assess durability since I just installed it (the original one failed after 4 years of operation, but based on the manufacturing date on the housing, it was already 9 year old).

Perfect
Item works, correct size, long cables, crimp on.. To help folks: 1. Make sure your switch is set to open man before you remove or install the motor.. 2. Unhook latch and it should pull back up 3. when you re power if your boiler hasn’t been reset do that and wait for it to start up and go quiet 3. Turn heating on solo with lever up in auto 4. Turn hot water on 5. Turn both off You should see the motor move for steps 3-5

Cheap fix
Bought one of these in 2022. It gave up the ghost last week so got another one. Dont know how long these are supposed to last but cheaper than buying a branded original and £12 for 2 years service is acceptable. If this one breaks in 2 years time I may look at a better version. Quick to fit and easy. Plumber would charge over £100 - that's a joke.

Drive sprocket barely fits through the mounting plate of Honeywell zone valve head
I bought this motor to fix a temperamental Honewell zone valve which wasn't closing fully. The motor was fairly unenthusiastic at winding back and I thought it was worth a punt as the valve itself didn't feel stiff and did fully close manually with the head removed. On my first attempt at fitting the motor, I found the drive sprocket wouldn't fit through the hole in the mounting plate to 'mesh' with the toothed lever below and gave up. Roll forwards a couple of months and the old motor gave up the ghost, making an awful buzzing sound when activated. I resigned myself to having a second go, contemplating drilling out the baseplate in somewhat confined circumstances to make it fit. To my delight, this time around it was just about possible to force the new motor into position. This new motor operates quietly, winding back promptly to fully close the valve when there is no demand.
