Does what it says
As others have said, it is very similar to silicone. But as a DIY'er, i couldn't justify buying a large tub of jointing compound for the odd job around the house. This does the job just fine. I've fitted two radiators and an outside tap, no leaks so far. Highly recommended!

NOT QUITE SILICONE - AND THATS A GOOD THING!!!
Comparison: Adey MCXS vs. Standard Silicone 1. Consistency Adey MCXS: Thick, moldable paste. Standard Silicone: Thinner, designed for beads or strips. 2. Wet Surface Adhesion Adey MCXS: Can be applied to damp or wet surfaces. Standard Silicone: Requires a bone-dry surface to stick properly. 3. WRAS Approval Adey MCXS: Fully approved for drinking water Standard Silicone: Most are not safe for drinking water contact. 4. Heat Resistance Adey MCXS: Specifically designed for high-temperature heating systems. Standard Silicone: Varies; often not tested for central heating cycles. 5. Removal Adey MCXS: Does not set rock-hard; joints can be undone later. Standard Silicone: Can bond very strongly, making future disassembly difficult.

Mislead by Amazon, not what I was looking up.
It's silicone and so it obviously doesn't stop pipe leaks. I was looking for something that would stop leaks Amazon put this up and due to the position of the leak, seemed like a good idea. When I got it, I tried to use it and it was useless. Obviously it for filling gaps, for that it works and it's easy to use, as for durability time will tell..

It worked well, but is it just silicon?
I can’t fault the product at all, as it worked well and stopped the leak on the tap I had fitted. I wasn’t entirely sure what the consistency of it would be like, as the manufacturer don’t provide allot of information on their website. It seems very similar to silicone sealant and even smells the same. For this reason I gave it allot longer then they suggested to go off, but it worked fine.

It worked
Had an issue with a compression fitting which wouldn't stop weeping, even after trying the old trick of PTFE tape round the olive. Not straightforward to replace the fitting so I decided to give this a try as it is labelled WRAS approved. Found smearing it around the olive with the PTFE still in place before re-tightening the fitting worked, which has saved some faff trying to replace the joint.

Didn't work
As most reviews have mentioned, this is just clear silicon seal. It didn't stop my weeping radiator valve.
