I sharpened my kitchen knife with this and it worked great. I am still learning the sharpening technique but I think this stone does a great job. I think the oil bit is kind of useless, I would rather buy a wetting stone than an oil stone. But it does the job for me even without the oil. It also has 2 sides, a coarse and a fine sharpening side which is quite useful. I have not used the honing guide yet, but I will definitely need it when I sharpen my chisels for wood carving.

I read quite a few reviews before I purchased this. Some people said it was a little fiddly but I didn't really have any problems. I found the build quality to be satisfactory. There is some information on the pack that tells you how to get the right angle. You might want to make a jig to make this process easier/faster, just go online (youtube) to find out how. I bought a run down old number 5 plane and cleaned it up. Part of that process was sharpening the blade. I purchased a few sheets of different grade sandpaper and some really fine wet and dry paper. After that I used it on a couple of chisle I let my brother borrow. He used them to chip plaster off walls and all kinds of other abuse. They were in a really bad way. They took a bit of time but they came up great. I'm giving this product 4 stars because there are for sure better tools out there to sharpen with but for the price this is great.

Oil stones ok sharpening guide is pretty pants ... not enough oil, stone soaked that up in seconds

This is a reasonable priced product that does the job if used infrequently. You’ll outgrow this in the long run, but it’s good to start with or to have in your tool box. Pros - Good price for what you get, at a reasonable quality. - It works well for planes and bigger chisels , and can put on a reasonable edge. Cons - The honing guide does not hold small chisels well, or those with a smaller bevel. They are pushed at a slight angle which results in a slight angle to the chisel edge. This issue does not occur with plane blades. - There is a tiny amount of honing oil. You’ll need more quickly. Any mineral oil will do. - The stone clogs fairly quickly under regular use. It needs cleaning frequently especially on the course side.

Good value - good price.

Grinding stone seems fine. For bevel edge, so square edge chisels won't fit well . The amount of oil is a bit pointless and some had already leaked. Works best with larger chisels. Seems to sharpen knives too.

First time I have ever bought this type of product. 1. Arrived on time. 2. Properly packed. For the company 5 star. The product is of high standard and the instruction on it meant I had a razor chisel in minutes. product 10 star for quality and ease to use

Soporte muy practico para el afilado de formones y cuchillas de cepillo. La piedra de afilar me gusta menos, es una piedra generica china que se ve en otros kits de afilado similares, pero por este precio no se le puede pedir mucho mas.

Non di qualità estremamente raffinata, ma questo kit fa il suo lavoro in modo sufficiente. Forse per scalpelli più pregiati è il caso di prediligere qualcosa di più costoso
