Draper 31096 Interchangeable Hole Punch and Eyelet Plier, 210mm , Blue

I purchased this product to use with my crafting. I wanted to put some eyelets on a masculine card that i was making for a family member. The pliers come with 6 interchangeable punch tools ranging in size from 2.8mm-5mm. These screw in very neatly to the handle so that you will not loose the pieces. Also within the handle is the brass punch down plate. I tried the punch on various paper and card stocks ranging from 80gsm to 270gsm card stock. You have to put a fair bit of pressure on the handle when closed, and not every punch went 100% through, but more often than not a clean cut was achieved. This tool also doubles up as an eyelet press, the two eyelet adapters are pre-installed but these screw off for you to replace with the punch adapters and plate. The eyelet press requires significant less cutting pressure and allows the included pack of eyelets to be pressed neatly into the cardstock. The eyelets are in silver, brass and a copper type pink. Overall i am very happy with the multitool. It does the job for what i needed it for and i recommend it to other crafters who are looking to add something different to their card making. For the cost of the tool it is very good value in my opinion.

Works on thin fabric but does not make a hole on thicker fabric eg quilted fabric or thick curtain fabric The inbuilt storage helps stop you loosing the parts. But you do need to keep changing from hole making to inserting Eyelets with this system - or plan your work very carefully to make all holes then insert all eyelets

I took a chance on purchasing this item due to very mixed reviews. I'm happy I did as its come in super handy for my paper crafts. (Scrapbooking, junk journaling and cardmaking). Alot of reviews say no instructions are included, there are. These are on the back of the pack, also if you scroll down the listing to 'additional details' there is a pdf instruction sheet which I screen shot to follow. I found this item VERY easy to use, and changing the various punch tops TO eyelet setter, just takes a bit of patience & practice. 5 stars from me.

Unfortunately, the 2 anvils for 'setting' the eyelets are not well aligned, so do not compress the rivets symmetrically.

I bought this to make eyelets in sewing projects and after a year in my drawer, I've just got around to trying it out. I wanted to use it to make waterproof covering for use in my garden with eyelets to attach bungees and hooks to. But on this plier the punch and form parts don't match up when screwed in securely. I had to loosen the punch part to get it to align with the form part and slot tightly together. The smallest punch which matches the hundreds of grommets supplied is mashed beyond use after only 6 uses. I tried initially making holes in a thick rubberised waterproof material that I was using to make a barbeque cover. I couldn't even make one clear hole before the punch started bending in on itself. I then thought perhaps the material was too tough so I made 2 holes in cotton fabric using the intact punch next size up and that didn't work at all - the fabric just stretched into the form part! So it's not suitable for use on most fabrics by the look of it. Maybe it's just a punch for leather and plastic only? It certainly didn't work with my rubberised stiff waterproof fabric. But I do wonder if the quality of the metal on the punches is man enough for leather or plastic? I can't comment because I haven't tried that. It seems poor quality.

Despite some of the reviews and because I don’t like the spoke type ones I went for this one and found it to do what I needed it for (punching holes in a leather belt) quite adequately. You just need to work out which attachments to use. I also like the interchangeable storage on the handle.

I saw many unfavourable reviews for this but decided to give it a go because I had one some time ago. It went the way of many things during house moves over the years but I remember it was a useful bit of kit. I can only assume that the people who are having trouble with it haven't set the device up correctly. I have found that it punches a clean crisp hole in anything I have tried, card, leather and paper to name a few. The eyelets rivet in nicely and look professional. I have to restrain myself from putting eyelets into the morning mail, my children's coats or anything which comes to hand really, it's just so much fun. (childish I know). I would say that there is only one size of eyelet though which is about the size of a shoe lace hole, I thought there would be a variety. Works very well though

For someone who has never used eyelet pliers it is not immediately obvious what to do with this piece of kit and after fiddling and practising for a bit i think i have figured it out. Essentially there are 9 tools which are interchangeable and can screw into the opposing screw thread holes at the working end of the pliers. Tools 1 to 6 are for punching holes of different sizes. Tool 7 is brass coloured and flat and is used opposite the hole punching tools when making holes in materials .Tool 8 (Female tool) is eyelet shaped with a hole in the middle and tool 9 (male tool) is eyelet shaped with a small mound in the centre. The pliers come with a big bag of metal eyelets. You punch the hole with tool 7 and any of tools 1-6 depending on the size of hole you want. Then you change to tools 8 and 9. put the eyelet in the hole. The flat part of the eyelet rests on the female tool 8 and as you squeeze the pliers the male tool 9 crushes the open end of the eyelet flat to hold it in the hole. Simple and easy. This should come with instructions though!

Für den Hausgebrauch reicht die Ösenzange, kann aber mit Profiwerkzeug nicht mithalten. Qualitativ gute Ösen. Der Preis für das Angebot ist voll in Ordnung. Lieferung erfolgte innerhalb von 2 Tagen. SUPER
