Classic glass baster with solid control. Clean draw, easy rinse, no gimmicks—just proper roast gear.
🔍 KitchenCraft Traditional Baster – In-Depth Review This baster’s built for cooks who want control without compromise. The glass tube gives you full visibility and holds up well under heat, but it’s not forgiving—drop it and it’s done. The rubber bulb draws juices cleanly, though it softens slightly when hot, so you’ll need a firm grip. At 30 cm, it’s long enough to reach into deep trays without burning your knuckles. No angled tip, so you’ll be tilting trays or coming in sideways—not ideal, but manageable. Cleaning’s a breeze: the bulb pops off, and the tube rinses out fast. No hidden gunk traps, no faff. This is a proper roast tool. No gimmicks, no plastic nonsense. Just a solid bit of kit that does what it’s meant to. ✅ Pros Thick glass tube gives clear view and solid heat resistance Rubber bulb draws well and doesn’t leak Easy to clean—bulb detaches, tube rinses quick Long reach for deep trays and big joints Classic look—feels like proper kitchen gear ❌ Cons Bulb softens under heat—needs confident grip No angled tip—awkward in tight trays Glass is breakable—needs careful handling

Bastes turkeys
It is a turkey baster. It bastes turkeys. I feel that is important. I would give it a sixth star if it did it automatically. I always think glass is the way to go with these because it cleans properly after use. This is not my first one but the breakages are down to my clumsiness rather than design. Recommended, but only if you want to baste things. Like turkey.

Good baster. Does the job.
Nice item. One star lost due to some minor damage. The glass at the top had a slight crack. Didnt affect the use as its inside the bulb. Not recommended for accuracy as once you release the buld the suction is lost.

Not Such A Master Baster
We had one of these some years ago which unfortunately got broken and I've been looking for the same model for some time, so I was please to finally find one. Used extensively to baste roast meats and vegetables, this is a quick and easy way to baste. A few points to note which stopped it getting 5 stars, but I'm not sure I'd be able to find anything better:- - Nozzle can get blocked, e.g., by small pieces of potato, so steer clear of any "mush" in the roasting dish - Take great care if you are using it to transfer hot fat from the roasting tin to another receptacle, as as soon as you take the end out of the fat, gravity WILL cause the fat to start streaming back out of the end! - Remember it is made of glass (albeit toughened glass), so if you drop it, bang it hard or (as in my case) clip it (especially the tip of the nozzle) against something in the dishwasher, it will break, crack or chip Regardless of the points noted above, it's still the best I've found (and pretty easy to clean, too), so I bought two so that when I inevitably break one in the future I have a replacement ready to hand. Update Jan 2017: I've reduced the rating from 4 stars to three as I'm underwhelmed by the longevity of the yellow (silicone?) bulb. After a couple of years, the yellow squeezy bulb has lost its ability to form an airtight seal round the glass (which allows you to suck up the oil/fat). It's as though the bulb it has stretched. I opened up the second one (which I bought assuming that at some stage I would break the glass part) and swapped over to the new bulb on the old baster and it now works as well as it did originally. Time will tell how long the second bulb lasts, but I think after that goes I will look for an alternative make.

I specifically wanted a glass baster because they last longer than the plastic ones.
