Wireless Wizzard
Effective and really easy. Various people told that these cannot work, as you cant boost a signal to be greater than that which it is receiving at the given point of use. So that's nonsense! I used this on a wireless connection. Just follow the instructions. Plug in, switch on, press WPS button on router, press WPS button on unit, and they find each other. I DO THIS CLOSE TO THE ROUTER. Then you can unplug and take to the point where you want to use it. Assuming not too far away, (Don't take it up to Tescos - other supermarkets are available), signal will be found. It has a wireless key but you log on to it using the key for your router. I live in an old house and needed second PC up and running in the basement. Has to penetrate really thick wall, probably composed of daub, wattle, sheep droppings and mud..with possibly the remains of a dead Roman here and there. My PC could see the router, but very weak signal...Signal strength was "You Must be Joking"...or words to that effect. With this in place it leaps to "Excellent". Say no more. Warning. It did appear to die after couple of years so I sent for a new one. New one arrived after 24 hours, courtesy of Prime. Next day, out of curiosity, with new one working, I tried the old one again...and it was working, although when it went wrong it did reboot it and tried everything else - restored factory settings etc. So, if yours "dies", try reset but in any event, leave it in a dark room to have a lie down for 24 hours, and it may well come back to life. Now I have a spare. At this price, can't go wrong.

It works well, eventually
This review is for the 610 model. It didn’t want to connect the easy way via WPS even though it was trying to connect to a BT Home Hub. I connected my iPhone to its Wi-fi and logged in, used the wizard to connect to my router and all was well. I do think someone without knowledge of ip addresses may struggle if their router doesn’t connect via WPS. Once set up, it is very good. Downloads are almost as fast as next to the main router at the other end of the house. One small moan though. I’m sure an earlier one I used to have, a bit slower than this one, used the same SSID as the router. This doesn’t, meaning I will have to reinstall all the smart sockets and bulbs, the main reason for buying it.....

Easy to set up and does what it is supposed to
I use a BT hub plugged into the incoming phone line in my 'office' at the front of the house. I had been having problems with the connection dropping on my iPad when used at the back of the house or just outside on the patio of the rear garden. Although other people had recommended the Netgear booster I decided to opt for this on the basis of some of the reviews so although I don't know how they would have compared in practice, this has done the job perfecty well. It took just a few minutes to set up (Plug it in near the hub, press a few buttons to connect them, plug it in somewhere else and then put in the hub password for the extension wi-fi that will appear in the wi-fi menu) and I have plugged it into a socket at the back of the house and now have good all round coverage including being able to use my iPad while sittimg ouside in the garden. Job done.

Works, but limited range from router
Easy enough to set up but I was not sure if it was OK so set it up again. It works well but the connection range to my router (BT Homehub 6, new) is not good - it is in the back of the upstairs bedroom at the front of a semi and the extender is in the kitchen at the back, not a very long distance but it started with bottom blue (far) and now showing red (too far). However, the extender itself is good enough for me to have internet in the back garden now.I am not interested in streaming so went for this model. I am wondering if I paid the extra for the streaming model would the pick-up range from the router be better?

Not French telecomms but as good as
This works, tricky to set up I had to do some power off on at mains button BT Hub but then we often do, after some jiggling and using the computer to put in the extender by instructions it eventually decided the distance was right and stopped Flash, now we can actually use Internet rapidly which is why I guess BT sold it, if we ever move to a stone walled house it should cut through or around castles, however it bounces signal, and we are radio safe. I think if your Internet works well you are security safe as response is so good, on computer we are instant blocked, but on Net it can be slow and the trouble gets in and messes external links which they have to repair. Login logout use it rapidly and this helps. The door bell has been moved as we have too few mains wired sockets so cold call selling is a waste of time and this advertised was welcome as we shall not answer false religions kicking down our home trying to make us shift from BT, they do a good job and then add to it to make sure we are happy.

Internet constantly disconnects - useless.
‘Simple’ WPS set up did NOT work so had to go through a faff to get it working via my PC. Apparently shows good signal but drops out constantly to the point where you can’t use internet - so not fit for purpose!! Have better signal and more stable connection without the extender. The older version worked brilliantly until I snapped the plug with the Hoover! Very disappointed in the time wasted to try and get this to work an ended up taking it out.

Good when positioned in the right place
Seems pretty good and very easy to set up (WPS is the future). Tried different configurations (with bt hub) as although devices would connect to the extender at 5 ghz the extender only seemed to connect to the router at 2 ghz. When I did force it to use 5 speed was always better through 2ghz - so maybe it is cleverer than me. Amazon firestick now says it has a better quality and strength signal....so far so good.

Fantastic bit of kit easy to set up and feels well made
I'd purchased a cheaper wifi extender for £14 previously (roughly half the price of this one). I wish I'd gone for this one in the first place. This was working and connected via wps within 5 minutes of being out of the box (wps connection works with bt hub 3 or above). Although you don't need a bt router to use this. The fact that it is dual band is also a nice touch and gives you two wifi signals to connect to effectively. One for close range and one for further away. Feels well made in comparison to cheaper models.
