Easy and accurate
Straight out the box and 1 minute to calibrate with water then testing Home stilled gin plus shop bought as a standard. Spit on measuring and easy to use - fabulous and not expensive.

Brilliant
Sadly a few weeks ago I broke my alcohol meter, thought I'd get myself a replacement via Amazon. I came across this wonderful product. I'm wondering were this has been all my brewing life. Excellent bit of kit,a slight bit of calibration to start with & off you go, easy as pie. I did however watch a couple of how to videos from the usual place. To sum up, I'm extremely happy with the product & I'd definitely recommend it

Quick and accurate
Very accurate: I know - I tested it against a whole lot of wines and spirits in my drinks cupboard. Very easy to use: helped with my home brew, but needs clear liquid to work.

The "Proof" is in the alcoholic pudding!
It's a very easy to use scientific feeling contraption! Just ensure you test the alcohol above 20 degrees room temperature to get the most accurate reading. To test the refractometers accuracy I bought alcohol from a shop and it confirmed exactly what the alcohol percentage purported to be... so it's a thumbs up from me. Pricey but very worth it!!

Spot on
Fair price and accuracy checked against different alcohol percentages and is spot on. To clearly see the % level best to shield the prism with your hand you get a good visual reference level. Didn't like the box a bit scratched but you get what you pay for. All in all great product.

So easy to use
Water registers as 0% and my 1st mead brow as 16% after 6 weeks. Just a few drops sample transferred with a pipette, take reading, then wipe clean. All in a smart rugged box. Perfect and recommended.

not accurate ABV over 60%
Firstly - it needs to be calibrate with a commercial spirit. My unit was overstating by nearly 10%. Commercial brandy showing 48% instead of 38% as per label. Now , we do produce sanitising product and biofuel for things like BBQ, lamps, etc and with coronavirus prevention this device fails on all front. Anything distilled from reflux (90%) is obviously being showed as 80+% but the problem starts when using alembic still which produces ethanol starting from 80% all the way to 20%. Even when the % drop below 65% the unit still shows 70%. Now if you mix to parts of 70% and water (both equal amounts) - you should get a reading of 35%. However upon measuring the mixtur it shows 25-30% This particular model is sold under many different names and this is good product for to measure ready made drinks but not for sanitising, biofuel and enthusiasts.

Kann man also bedenkenlos kaufen.
