Spare Oil Watchman/niveau Battery/powertube

It does the job it's meant to do, but I'd advise keeping the old powertube because it's merely a copper tube containing AAA batteries. The copper cap can be removed from the old tube, in the way described by several other reviewers, and the old one can then be kept as a spare.

This piece of kit is a rip off as described by many others. It is a simple piece of copper tube with four batteries sealed in side The cost of this to the supplier can only be a couple of pounds but yet it costs approx. £35 to get it delivered. The supplier has got impractical people like myself by the proverbials !! There is a procedure whereby you can unseal the tube and replace the batteries yourself for just the cost of the batteries using the existing tube but you need to be experienced with the appropriate tools . Not easy for people like myself. If the original tube could be supplied with a "screw off" cap this would be the ideal solution but sadly would reduce the profits for Sensor Systems!.

Very pleased with this product. I was a little concerned as this is the first time that I have had to replace this part and couldn't find any instructions. I needn't have worried as it was self explanatory once I had the cover taken off. Thank you.

it is a very expensive battery. it took some time to arrive and initially didn't work properly - the monitor indicating low battery power. it is now working correctly. i wouldn't buy another battery but instead buy a brand new unit which costs not a great deal more and would run on conventional batteries.

Required new sender unit as the other was exhausted and corroded. This did the job as it should. Rather expensive for what it is hence 4 stars instead of 5

The Watchman device has always worked well enabling an in-house readout of the external oil tank content but since it is battery operated will after some years eventually require battery replacement. This battery power tube is easy to fit and the device now works again so am pleased with the purchase.

These things are very temperamental. This one would not work on my oil tank so I tried it on my mum's tank and it worked. She has the same tank as I do. Cannot explain why these things don't work sometimes. Luckily I wasn't too angry as my money was not wasted as my mother can use it. Not everyone has a mother with another matching oil tank though. Try it but you are taking a chance!!!
