Thorough review with an update....
I don't write a lot reviews but there are a few things I'd like to say about the litter kwitter... The litter kwitter The instructions were very easy and clear to follow and the DVD was good if you waned a little bit more information. There are a few things I think worth mentioning though... I have a standard loo and even though the white mount that goes on the loo has clips I found these didn't work as my loo doesn't have a ridge or rim round the outside for the clips to clip onto... Without them however the white mount could move around quite a bit and because I didn't want my cat getting spooked with the movement I just wedged some cardboard in the gap between the loo and the white mount and that seemed to solve this issue. The red stage was very easy for my cat to get used to how ever moving to the orange stage was a bit difficult for my cat (I might just have a very scared cat though lol so you might not have this issue but just in case you do this is how i solved it) she didn't like the big drop from the hole to the loo so what I did was put an old bowl into the loo and placed the red tray on top of the bowl (this was to secure the red tray because the first time I tried this she tried to stand on it while investigating it at first and it moved and freaked her out) with a small bit of litter in and then placed the orange stage like normal into the white mount. This way there it a small drop between the orange stage and the red stage underneath. This meant there was more things for you to move it you only have 1 loo but i thought it definitely worth it to get the end result you want. Once my cat has completely got used to it like this (this is as far as we have got so far with the training) i will remove the red tray and the bowl as she would have got used to her poops dropping through the hole to the water. When she is ready to move to the green stage I won't need to use the bowl like before because she would have got used to the drop so should be a lot easier from then on. I have tried 2 different kinds of flush-able litter . Pettex Pampuss Woodbase Cat Litter 30 Litre by Pettex I'm not sure if I just have a particularly fussy cat but she wasn't keen on this litter at all the pellets were too big for her to move around to how she liked it before she went to the loo and because of the ridges in the litter kwitter you could'nt actually get a lot of the pellets in to the litter kwitter. Flushing this litter was fine except on one occasion the loo did get blocked (it was very easy to unblock though) because the dirty litter just sort of crumbles but in the process of putting the dirty litter into the loo some clean pellets that were in the litter kwitter went in too and they expand with water hence why the loo blocked. The good things about this litter is that it is defiantly value for money and it does have quite a pleasant smell. Cat's Best Öko Plus Cat Litter, 30 L by Cats Best My cat much preferred this litter as the litter was very small and easy for her to move around. I do love the fact that this litter clumps together so was very easy to see and to remove all dirty litter and not throw a lot of clean litter as well. It was a little more pricey for the same amount of litter but as your cat needs positive experiences with the litter kwitter I personally thought this was the best litter for the job. I hope you find this thorough review helpful as this is all the information I would have liked to have when researching this... All I can say is know your cat and what they might be afraid of and use a lot of positive encouragement, be patient and don't rush though the stages and good luck :) UPDATE..... It has been about a month now and molly doing so well really proud of her, not even a quarter of the way through the bag of litter no more mess or horrid smells just a quick flush I am taking my time with the training but it is so worth it (moving onto the green stage without anything underneath so A LOT easier) I have updated this product from 4 stars to 5.... the niggly issues you might go through to get to the end result far out weighs the hassles you would have with a normal litter tray just wish I did this years ago lol JJT

Brilliant. Superb. Awesome. On the final ring (only a wee bit of plastic)...
Probably make your life and that of the cat easier if you get the extra 2 rings from the MultiKatKit. The holes are a bit daunting otherwise. Update 16/Nov/15: Well, I wouldn't have believed it (though obviously we had hopes) but the cat (10 years old) is on the final ring (the green one). Yesterday we reduced the litter in that with the aim of having him get used to being totally without cat litter before we remove this, the very last ring, and move him onto the final stage of White holder only (the white holder is always in place - it fits over the toilet bowl and holds the current ring). Eventually we intend to get rid of the white holder as well though we might leave it there. Depends on feedback from the cat! Leaving it in place wouldn't be a big deal but we'll see. He doesn't do his business on the ring anymore (mind you, it's so narrow he'd need to be quite the sharpshooter to land anything on it) - he does his business straight through the hole. I notice he's still using the ring to balance one paw on. This last ring has only about 1/2 to 3/4 inch of plastic all around so hopefully he won't miss it when it goes. I notice that without any teaching he's learnt over time to face the right way. Just as well - wouldn't want to frighten the horses. Already saving a fortune on cat litter and hardly any tracking now that there's so little cat litter in that final green ring. We still have a box in there beside the loo that he uses as a step - though he doesn't use it getting off the loo. Initially we had the rings with the white holder on that and eventually when he was used to the height just moved it onto the loo. At the very beginning we had the red ring on the floor beside the loo and gradually raised it until it was roughly loo height then moved it onto the loo and only then started changing the rings. Read all the reviews - loads of info in there that thought us a lot. Thanks guys. And be sure to go on youtube to see how cats do their business and that'll inspire and amaze you. Yeah, I know how that sounds. Must get out more. And don't get the cut out system in case you need to go back to an earlier ring (we didn't have to go back). And do get the extra 2 rings. A bit expensive initially (those 2 rings should really be included) but well worth it. Very well made product - extremely strong. Faultless. Indeed, downright clever! That's enough to be going on with...

Great but you need the cooperation of the cat
This was a great idea, you need to purchase a special flushable cat litter separately. That special cat little is made with Barley which isn't suitable for people with Coeliac disease or a Barley allergy as the dust goes everywhere. One cat Lovely got the idea quickly and used the litter kuitter very well. The other cat Bear had no idea and didn't use it at all. Be aware this doesn't work on all cats

Trained 1 out of 3 of our young cats
We have 3 cats who were all under 4 years old when we started using this, 2 go outdoors and 1 stays indoors as he’s a scaredy cat. Scaredy cat uses the normal litter trays 100% of the time and didn’t take well to this (a shame but more or less expected). Out of the other 2 outdoor kitties, one never uses the normal litter trays so there was little incentive for him to switch to this (for us or for him). Remaining kitty took to it and learned all the stages quite quickly. He even skipped a couple, as he only ever used the red tray on the toilet itself and never peed through the rings with holes, but then started going in the toilet. He only wees in the toilet, and does the rest of his business outdoors. He doesn’t use it 100% of the time but it is handy that he knows how to use it. One star removed because the clips kept coming off, and was slightly annoying as we only have one toilet so had to fit and remove it several times a day. It’s ideal if you have a separate less used loo in a quiet area of the house that is always open and you can make the designated “cat toilet”. Cats don’t like toileting in busy areas, just like us they prefer privacy (and safety, eg. No other cats watching or waiting to jump on them). I used treats to encourage and reward them using the trays initially, to build a positive association with it. I’d definitely recommend giving it a try if you have a confident cat or an only cat. It’s more difficult with shy cats as they’re naturally wary of new things.

Rubbish
Don't believe most of the 5 star reviews here. Some reviews are valid (and I wish I had cats that acted similarly), but many, if you notice, are people reviewing it before they have got their cats through all of the stages. Some are still on the first stage and giving it 5 star ratings! Our two cats (1 year old) used the first (red) stage without too much issue (although they clearly didn't like it compared to the normal litter tray). But they just refuse to go beyond that stage. They would rather just wee and pooh on the floor than use the second (orange) stage. I've even tried manually making intermediate stages as described in the litter kwitter forum, but as soon as you introduce a hole no bigger than a small matchbox they will refuse to go in it. We've been trying for over 7 months now and they still refuse to go beyond first stage. Obviously this product works for some lucky owners but I'm giving this product a 1 star rating for several reasons: It didn't work for my cats at all. It's far too expensive for what is really just a few bits of plastic. They charge extra for intermediate stages, which I think would give most people a better chance of achieving success. And lastly the claimed training time of 8 weeks is a huge exaggeration. It's a best case scenario - not the norm (according to people's experiences on their forum)!

Like ducks to water!
We have two ageing cats (aged 15 and 16.5+) so I wasn't sure whether this would work or not. I omitted the first step and put the Litter Kwitter next to the toilet. Both cats started using it straight away (eldest cat first). Then we moved onto the next stage - onto the toilet. Again, the eldest cat was no problem. The younger cat wasn't so sure at first but was soon using it no problem. A week and a half later and we moved onto the orange stage. Eldest cat, no problem at all. Youngest cat not so sure. We went back to the red stage for a day and then the orange stage with the red tray underneath the orange. Then onto the orange stage again. Both cats using it quite happily. Only the green stage to go! FOR: A great product, sturdy and well designed. Easy to clean. The DVD is very helpful. AGAINST: Nothing HANDY HINT: Reward successes, ignore failures (few and far between). Keep the treats in the bathroom so they associate the toilet and the bathroom with treats. Don't stand watching - cats are very private and they don't like "performing!" Give lots of praise and cuddles. SUMMARY: Costing me a fortune in treats because they are doing so well and I have to keep rewarding them! I am using more expensive litter too so that it doesn't clump together when it falls into the toilet as it does occasionally. You need to keep a vaccuum cleaner handy as litter goes onto the floor - but hopefully it won't be for long. I did not expect older cats to take to it but I desperately wanted rid of the litter tray and they don't go out as much now they are getting on a bit! They seem to prefer it much more than the litter tray and so does my kitchen floor - no more wet paws. I wish I knew about this product earlier, it is fantastic!

I won't say it was easy: my cat was really upset about it
The Litter Kwitter does work - as long as you know your cat really well. I think this is paramount. I did know that my cat was clever enough to learn to use this, as she is open to new habits. My cat is 5 years old. We started mid September by putting the litter close to the wc. After a few days, this was put to the level of the wc. Then we got rid of the litter and started using the litter kwitter. I won't say it was easy: my cat was really upset about it. You could really say she was extremely stressed out (for about a couple of weeks). The very first day, she was refusing to use the litter kwitter and held her wee for hours - she was looking for the old litter in the place it used to be. She was calling me out, meowing - I could se she was really uncomfortable. The key here was me being there, I think. I encouraged her to climb up and with soft, sweet voice I helped her/showed the new litter. I did so for 2 weeks: helping her every time (I'm lucky enough to work from home, so I could monitor her). We had a couple of incidents - but I didn't tell her anything, just encouraged her. After 4 weeks, we moved to the next stage, the amber tray. My cat was curious about it, a bit worried again, but much less traumatic than the first stage - for sure. The amber tray is already a great thing, as my cat wees and poos in the hole 4 times out of 5, so this is excellent. Last week, I tried to use the green tray: again, she got stressed out, really upset. She held her wee for hours: I couldn't stand to see her in pain, so I quickly swap the trays, put back the amber one and she finally managed to wee. I think it was not time for the green tray yet. We need to be patient, but I'm sure she eventually will get there. I'm absolutely certain about it. Thank you Litter Kwitter!

Not too satisfied
Just okay. It's quite hard for cat to get used to. Also it's not that deep as it appears. Addionally clean it or removing litter from its is quite difficult . Addionally first gap is too big should have added option of smaller hole in that price. I'll continue to use it and see how it turns out to be.

There have been a few hiccups
Before I say anything about the product. This is a process. I started training my cat about a week ago and he did take to it just like a regular litter box. Because it's much smaller than a traditional litter box he did miss the first time and peed on the floor. Pee can also get between the outer tray and inner tray. For this reason, I suggest putting a puppy underneath while your cat is getting used to it. The outer part of the tray has friction clips to make sure it's sturdy on your toilet which is great. My cat has no problem getting up on the toilet and aiming for the very center now. I personally give him treats when I see him using it. The trays are not really 'scoopable' so be ready to use a poop bag over your hand as you would with a dog, and you'll be doing this regularly because again it's smaller than a litter box. I really like it so far and will start using flushable litter when we get to the orange tray.
