Works, looks ok, not to pricey
Yeah had problems reading SD's larger than 2 GB on my 2005 laptop, mates had tested my SD cards and external reader and we're convinced that the SD's + reader was naff, luckly I wasn't and purchased this item, had an idea it would be the firmware not seeing the larger cards! So far this item reads a 32 GB SD and a 64 Micro SD so happy days, looks OK and it's no to pricey compaired to the others on amazon that have a lead then the reader, didn't see the point of worrying about it sticking out of my dated laptop when it's a top draw gadget that gets used now and again then returned to top draw! Yes going to purchase a up to date laptop soon but for now I'm happy

A little awkward to get used to at first.
I purchased this product purely for its Micro SD capabilities and when I tried inserting the Micro SD card nothing was registering with my laptop. The product arrived within an envelope with no instructions/troubleshooting guide. After several more attempts to no avail the product ended up on my floor for a couple of weeks deemed junk and a waste of time and effort sending back. But I decided to give the product one last go before it got chucked out for good. And I found that the Micro SD card has to be upside down and inserted with a little more force than you would expect to have to give a fragile little memory card. Overall great service on a great product(once you get the hang of using it) with nice transfer speeds with a low price tag to top it all off.

Pretty good for a cheap USB3 card adapter
It may not be the fastest USB 3.0 Multi Card Reader out there, but it does its job. To support this review, I did a mini un-professional test on my PC. My PC spec: CPU i5-3570k, Motherboard asus p8z77-v,16G RAM, Source and destination hard driver SSD Sansum 840 EVO 250G, Testing file 1.8GB MP4 file, SD card 32GB Transcend SDHC, MicroSD card Sansum 32GB Micro SDHC. The adapter was plunged into a 3.0 USB port during test. Test results: SD card: Writing test (Copying file onto the SD card), max speed 22MB/S, average speed 20MB/S. Reading speed (Copying file from SD card), max 92MB/S, average speed 89MB/S. Micro SD card: Writing test (Copying file onto the SD card), max speed 19MB/S, average speed 17.5MB/S. Reading speed (Copying file from SD card), max 74MB/S, average speed 71MB/S. Note: All the max speed is recorded during middle of the file transferring, while the transition is stabilized, not the top peak speed at the beginning of the transition. The average speed is an estimated speed, not statistical mean value results. Conclusion and final thoughts: Pros: Pretty good for a cheap USB3 card adapter, quite handy, I just use it as an flash driver. Of course the transferring speed not just depends on the adapter itself, but also on the hardware of the PC or Tablet connected to it, eg USB port type, CPU processing speed, RAM available etc. Cons: It can only read 1 card at a time, but not both SD and MircoSD, and for me the SD card is on priority. It is confirmed with the seller, this is designed to be so. But I guess it is not a big problem, one can always copy things to the PC or tablet first and duplicate the files to the other SD or MicroSD card. The adapter temperature did rise during the test, just finger warm but not unbearable hot, estimated less than 40ยฐC. Overall, although I have only had it for couple of weeks (light usage), in my non-professional opinion, it is a very good adapter for general use with this price.

Does the job with only a minor problem.
Small, feels sturdy enough, works but only minor problem is that even tho you can place 2 cards in at same time, I can only open up 1 card, and the drive chose for me. Not a big problem for me just a minor nuisance.

Very useful device
I had a multicard reader which had worked well enough for a while now. However I only use SDHC/microSDHC type cards now so some streamlining seemed to make sense. Given the fact that this is a USB 3.0 reader there is some future proofing too. I also wanted to use this (via an OTG cable) for use with a tablet that I now have as a sort of backup/transfer device. It has worked just fine on both the PC and tablets using an SHDC card. The fit is very snug and I'm not sure how easy it would be to get microSHDC cards in and out but some many come with adapters these days I'm using that approach. I also found that some cards were tighter than other. Good useful device at a reasonable price.

JUST OK.

Do not buy. Dangerous fault
On second use the device became too hot to handle and had to be removed from the port with piers. Port and (luckily) card still work fine so there is no doubt that the card reader was the culprit.

Great product
I needed something to read a micro usb card for a friend (plus I have one so it made sense to buy one rather than trying to find someone I could borrow one from) and this did the job just fine. I much prefer it than a regular usb stick as you can now use your memory card instead, or just use dropbox for free if there are not too many files you need to transfer. I've only used it once so far so I don't know how it'll hold up over a long time.
