Works well, sufficient instruction and recipes
Excellent product especially for the price. You couldn't buy all the pieces for the price. No problem setting up, going sideways and supporting thumper and condenser on trivet etc. Ending up with well water running continuously in sink. Tried ice in condenser but it would catch on outlet and require adjustments to inlet which will overflow, thus my final setup with condenser on Mason jar inside another pot. My well water runs around 50 degrees, so after several runs using ice in pot in sink, I found well water sufficient and was able to have inlet/outlet stable without adjustments. Remember to go slow on low heat as methanol(toxic)comes off first(which you throw out one ounce per 5 gallons of mash). I run on my LP gas stoves largest burner. Can run hotter till 180 on thermometer then turn to low and let it run(throw out heads). Last run I stirred till it was 150 on handheld thermometer, then closed up. Nothing came off till 185-90. Ran between 192 and 210(tested thermometer before installing using ice water and boiling water). Could run without thumper, but liked that it extended the length towards my endpoint at sink. Also added apple into it which added nice flavor to the distillate of my apple wine. Remember that if you boil you will get distilled water. Endpoint is when distillate no longer tastes alcoholic. Also dilute by about half for a drinkable product of around 80 proof or 40% alcohol. Did have thermometer condense water in it, but doesn't bother me. For maintenance, I dried thoroughly and lightly oiled(vegetable) clamps and outlets as one outlet showed rust, even though it appears to be brass. Always wanted to try this and am very pleased

Value for Money
Value for Money. All parts were delivered as advertised, including a very basic manual. I have distilled two batches of sugar wash, since purchasing the still and am delighted with the product quality and the distillation results. The 5 gallon still with thumper yielded 80% ABV at the start of the run, down to 50% ABV at the end of the run. There were no leaks and the product is super easy to use. It helps to watch a few you tube videos on where to cut and how to adjust temperature. The condensor water flow required a little adjustment to get a good balance. Creating a vacuum on the return line, really helped. Overall, this is a fantastic product for this entry level price and I would highly recommend for a beginner distiller.

Good kit, easy install, and no leak run
8 gallon was bigger than expected. Plenty big for 5 gallon runs. Very easy to put together. There aren't very many instructions so if you don't know anything about a still then you'll struggle. With basic knowledge it's straightforward. I put teflon tape on most of the joints and did a vinegar run. Not a single leak. Condenser pot is very small. You need a continuous supply of cold water and ice helps. The pump works great. The pot is a bit rounded so doesn't make full contact on a stove and wobbles when it gets got so put something heavy on it. Booklet has some good recipes in it which was an unexpected plus.

Tilted worm, easy fix
Update: watch the seals of the parts you attach your hoses to. Over tightening will cause silicone seals to squish and deform causing leaks 4 stars because it just works. -1 star because this is a starter kit for someone new to the hobby and should be set up right out of the box so newbies like me don't have to wonder why they ran mostly heads. (I'm assuming this is what happened, I'm new to this) the worm was not level so it got clogged with heads and infused heads into most of what would have been good stuff. To fix this, get a 3/4 wrench and adjust the worm so it is level and won't clog with liquid.

Keep it clean for a long lasting and use of the equipment.
Only takes 20 minutes to clean and sterilize. The stainless steel is easy to maintain.

More Efficient than My Pot Still
The still, thumper and worm appear to be well made. I have been distilling successfully for about 7 years using a pot still. I am able to use an induction cooker with this still which is a plus. I’ve experienced no burning or scorching of mash. I DO NOT use the pot for fermenting mash. Initial proof with first batch was 165. It maintained a higher proof throughout the distillation than my copper pot still. My pot still max was 140. Takes a bit more effort to set up than the pot still but I find it’s well worth it.

Works perfectly even after 10 runs.
Works perfectly! Some reviews said the gasket seals don't hold up, but I haven't had any issues. I've run the still about 10 times now and it works great every time. Just make sure all the connections are tight and you can hear the thumper bubbling. It starts thumping as soon as you turn on the heat, so you know if it's together properly. I bought a small 80gph submersible pump (also found on Amazon) to keep the cool water circulating durring the run, which also works perfectly. This is a great hobbie still. I highly recommend!
