Samsung SEK-3500U UHD Evolution Kit, Silver

I have a 2014 HU series 8500 bought in 11/14 using with normal sky HD and blu ray player only.The picture was always good especially when I used the add on UHD store which came with the TV. As I aim to upgrade to Sky Q and get a UHD DVD player I had to do something to enable UHD and as I also use Netflix and Amazon Prime and could not access their UHD content. Ordered 6/2/18 and it arrived 8/2/18. Took the precaution of printing out install instructions from a number of sources on the web plus copied out all my picture and sound settings. Read about all the problems others had had on install - upside down picture and sound problems etc - and the solutions. Followed the simple online instructions (part of the pamphlet that came with the box for installation was unreadable) and the install was easy and quick. Had to reset some of the picture settings. Did it make a difference? My wife, who says she cannot tell the difference between SD and HD, immediately stated that the picture was much clearer, brighter, deeper in colour and sharper. And it is a very noticeable difference after installation - so this solution worked for me and I now have put off an upgrade to a new TV. An excellent piece of kit but somewhat expensive as it has been around for a couple of years. All I have to do is get SkyQ and a 4K UHD DVD player and then change the HDMI setting to enable UHD colour on the SkyQ and DVD ports.

It's a bit of a pricey item tbh, but I bought this because I wanted 4k at 60fps on my PS4 Pro and the Samsung TV won't do that natively which was annoying. Relatively easy to setup, new menus are quite good, and it has improved picture and sound, and I also now get 4k at 60fps. So it's done the job, albeit at a price but I'm happy with it.

I incorrectly previously used my old one connect cable now that I am using the new cable it is working fine.

Hello,I recently bought a samsung sek3500u/zg for my samsung ue55f9000 2013 tv having previously had a sek 2500u,the difference is astounding,people say that this is a german device and it does not work with said tvs but they are mistaken because i am living proof,the tizen operating system is smooth and for future updates mine has had two so far and the ran as smooth as butter,my ps4 pro runs as follows,see the picture,i am uber pleased so far,i hope that this helps people out.

Ich hab' mir die SEK 3500 für meine 2013 gekauften F9090 gekauft. Die SEK 2500 habe ich ausgelassen. Im Vergleich zur originalen OCB ist die dritte Version ein Techniksprung. Jetzt kann ich die UHD Sender über Satellit empfangen, in der Amazon Video App ist das UHD Angebot verfügbar. Die neue Bedienoberfläche Tizen ist für mich optisch nicht der Brüller aber es funktioniert alles. Mit dem Austausch der Box hatte ich keine Probleme, die geschilderte Reihenfolge habe ich eingehalten. Das Bild ist sichtbar besser geworden. Mühsam war leider das Sendersortieren, weil die alte Kanalliste nicht mehr gültig ist. Bei der ersten Box war die Anschlußmöglichkeit von Scart noch vorhanden, an dieser Box fällt das weg.

Nel 2014 comprai il mio spettacolare Samsung UE55F9000 perché si vedeva in maniera spettacolare era più bello degli altri e soprattutto, veniva dato per integralmente aggiornabile ! Per due anni godimento assoluto anche di qualche filmatino 4K da Youtube, uno scaler dei blu ray di ottima qualità , ma arriva l'HDR ed i giochi cambiano, contestualmente spuntano i film 4K su Premium ma il mio tv non riproduceva che un 1080 i . Mi decido, leggo in giro e compro poi ho qualche difficoltà di istallazione e parlo con Samsung , ma il servizio assistenza telefonico è una burla non sapevano neppure che si potesse accoppiare il televisore al kit , l'assistenza ufficiale su territorio, non ne parliamo , addirittura mi dato un'apocalittica descrizione tecnica , suggestiva , ma assolutamente infondata , di come il KIT tedesco non potrà mai funzionare sul televisore italiano e mi porta , disperato, a chiedere subito la restituzione ( ora annullata) ma ne capisco abbastanza e non do per vinto , qualche problema di istallazione , ripeto, ma si trattava di una sciocchezza e stanotte tutto va apposto , effettivamente già la visione standard è di un altro livello, quella solo full hD è fenomenale, i BR scalati a 4 K sono pazzeschi sembra di avere ua finestra dalla quale si vede quello che succede fuori ed i contenuti 4K Premium sono finalmente godibili ma su questi mi pronuncerò in seguito perché non posso dire che segnale arrivi realmente , Premium dice 4 K ma il televisore non mi da notizie. Unica sofferenza è che Samsung ha deciso di non produrre più gli Evolution Kit in futuro ma , forse , di rendere solo degli aggiornamenti ! Per il 4K certamente questo ultimo kit sdogana l'HDR anche per i televisori 2013 e 2014 ma vedremo in seguito se , effettivamente , il sistema funziona, per ora il mio UE55F9000SZXZT italiano funziona perfettamente con il KIT 3500U/ZG prodotto per il mercato tedesco ed è migliorato molto , ho notato solo qualche lentezza nel telecomando e forse qualche comando che parte in autonomia , ma non ho avuto tempo di capire se si tratta di errori o dei tasti troppo sensibile , in ogni caso, appena avrò approfondito l'uso, pubblicherò i risultati. Cumple perfectamente con lo prometido, actualiza tú TV y realmente parece otra tras conectar el Evolution Kit, Se nota mejoría en el tratamiento de la imagen, sobretodo en los negros e incluso mejora el clouding (manchas blancas por fugas) Mayor velocidad de reacción al cambiar de canal. Mejora mucho la imagen en 4K gracias a su procesador de 8 núcleos. El imput lag a la hora de jugar a videojuegos también mejora mucho, sobretodo por que ahora se puede seleccionar el modo juego en 4k. Incorpora HDR al televisor (en los paneles que fuesen de 10bits). Ahora PS4 pro muestra perfectamente contenido HDR. Sistema operativo TIZEN, más rápido y con una interfaz mejorada. Fácil de instalar, basta con seguir las indicaciones que el TV te va proporcionando. Cabe destacar que la versión que vende Amazon es la ZG, que corresponde a Alemania pero es totalmente compatible con cualquier modelo de Televisión fabricado para Europa. Bonjour, j'ai reçu le sek-3500U/ZG d'Amazon aujourd'hui 15 novembre 2016, c'est un import Allemagne mais il est parfaitement compatible avec un Tuner DVB-T2 normalement, vérifié sur amazon.de. L'image c'est considérablement améliorée, il faut bien suivre les étapes pour l'installation, et bien activé l' HDMI UHD Color que l'on trouve dans le menu image. Sur un 55hu7200 et une xbox one S, je suis passé d'une 4k 8bits sans Hdr avec une image vraiment pas terrible, sans piqué, a de la 4k 10bits avec Hdr10 et gère le 24hz, 50hz et 60hz. Une image magnifique, la luminosité retrouvé est considérable, le Hdr est bien perceptible, ce n'est plus la même Tv. Même la TNT HD y gagne, c'est superbe avec des noirs profonds. Tizen est trés fluide mais n'est pas facile à appréhendé quand même de premier abord. De plus on gagne 2 Tuners que l'on peut afficher côte a côte ou en vignette, du bonus. Juste un regret, la télécommande avec le pointer est dure à prendre en main, je préfère celle d'origine plus maniable avec les même fonctions et gyroscopique, qui fonctionne toujours en l'appairant. Et on trouve bien une prise Casque. Vraiment satisfait. +++++Maj 20 janvier 2017 Suite à mon commentaire précédent j'émettrai des réserves tout de même sur un dysfonctionnement non mentionné. C'est le deuxième kit évolution après un échange, et sur les deux boitier j'ai des interférences à l'image quand je touche les parois en métal du Sek-3500, et le téléviseur s'éteint. Même constat également quand je bouge le câble qui le relie au téléviseur, l'image se brouille et la Tv s'éteint. Pour palier à ça, j'ai laissé le film plastique qui recouvre le boitier, ça chauffe peu heureusement, et scotché le câble derrière la Tv. Tout ça fait un peu bricolage mais bon.. Alors je ne sais pas si ce défaut a été corrigé depuis, mais je tenais à le signaler, c'est pas anodin. Et j'évite toujours de toucher ce boitier..

Ho ricevuto con la consueta precisione e celerità il kit ieri e l'ho installato sul mio F9000 Italiano. Tutto è andato liscio durante l'installazione e il prodotto (credo sempre indirizzato al mercato tedesco con sigla ZG) sembra funzionare correttamente. Il nuovo telecomando ha un sistema di puntamento e una ergonomia molto migliorati rispetto a quello del 2014 (sempre da Evolution kit). Come avevo già scritto per l'evo kit del 2014 io non vedo tutti quei miglioramenti ma comincio a pensare sia un problema di configurazioni salvate e riportate nei vari upgrades dal 2013, forse dovrei fare un reset alle configurazioni di fabbrica del nuovo Evo Kit. Qualche (piccolo) neo da segnalare per ora: 1) il manuale dell'installazione: hanno risolto il problema della traduzione multilingua in modo forse un po' discutibile, il manuale non è molto chiaro 2) Il web browser di Tizen è francamente un po' deludente, speravo veramente che migliorasse ma secondo me siamo ancora molto lontani da un normale browser PC o Mac. In generale secondo me l'upgrade è consigliato agli entusiasti spendaccioni come me... pur portando un processore sulla carta molto più potente e un nuovo sistema operativo, non cambia molto l'esperienza sul device.
