What is the weight of chips that this can take?

Sorry dont know the weight but it is a good portion for one person.

Can the non stick pan be removed for washing

No. The pan should be emptied of oil and then wiped over with a cloth. Do NOT immerse the fryer in water. It does work this way and we have had some use from our fryer. All in all, it is not bad but I do think it could have been designed better. The separate handle for the basket can be a little awkward.

How do i affix the handle to the basket

I gave up, as it was more dangerous falling off with hot food in it when I tried to turn food out. the handle fits into the mesh if you squeeze the end and let it spring open . the trouble is when you turn the basket over it folds up dropping hot fat and food over your hand. I use tongs to lift it out or use it without the basket lifting food with a slotted spoon. Not happy with this product and its safety.
