Cooler Master Notepal XL Laptop Cooler - Silent 230 mm Fan with X-Shape Blue LED, Fan Speed Controller, USB Hub, for Laptops Up to 17 Inch

I have developed a recent obsession with laptop cooling pads, which are a must have item for anyone having a laptop. This I have realized after having used pillows, cushions etc over the years. I have tried 3 cooling pads in quick succession of which this is by far the best. It comes very well packaged. The construction is largely plastic. It has 3 additional USB ports at the back which is quite convenient. It has a on off switch for the fan along with a speed control. The fan itself is quite silent unless turned to max in which case you hear the wind, which is unavoidable unless Dyson comes out with a fan less model. Silence is extremely important from a usability perspective. Also Its comfortable on the lap and keeps my HP EliteBook cool at very low fan speeds. You might need to turn up the fan speed for gaming PCs I guess. Cooler Master is a massive brand and I regret my previous "less known brand" purchase which had 4 fans of which one stopped working almost immediately during first use. It is better to stick to a known brand based on my experience. My other "less known brand" cooling pad is working fine so far but is not match for the quality, silence and performance of this one which is admittedly much more expensive so maybe not a fair comparison. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase and I recommend it highly!!

Got this to keep my gaming laptop cool and I am really pleased with my purchase. It is so quiet I forget I have it on. Really nice solid design and can be used on your lap quite comfortably as well. LED light looks cool but unfortunately can not be turned off while in use, but that's not a big issue as its not noticeable with a laptop on it. It comes with two feet on the back that raises the angle but I find that using the feet makes the typing angle a bit awkward so I never use them. But that is just in my opinion. It also has a dial on the back to adjust the fan speed. In reality the difference between the fan on it minimum setting and the fan setting on max is negligible to the point that its pointless it being there. The 3 extra USB ports are very useful if you are like me and need to charge multiple things at once or you have few USB ports on your device. Most importantly the cooling power is great. My laptop definitely performs better with it and i'm sure its components will live longer. Overall if you are looking for a cooling pad that will keep your laptop cool and is super silent this is the option for you.

First off the good points. It's a good fit for a 15" gaming laptop and moves quite a bit of air and isn't too noisy. It certainly makes a big difference to the overall temperature when running games. Now the not so good. First off, the most annoying feature - the blue LED. There's no way to turn it off and in a darkened room it is pretty irritating. Next up relates to the build quality. If you rest the pad on something soft (cushion, duvet, belly etc) the flimsy plastic bottom will flex, moving the fan into the path of the internal plastic causing a loud rasping noise. Would it really have been so difficult to make this a little bit stronger? And finally another example of suspect build quality. This comes with a built in hub and an optional 5v input for extra power. The hub worked for a couple of weeks but then stopped working intermittently and now no longer works at all. To be fair, I didn't attempt to return it as it wasn't a vital bit of functionality to me, but all the same it isn't good. So all in all, pretty average. It's not the cheapest out there but it does cool your laptop well. However I wouldn't buy it again and wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

Really really good piece of kit. Keeps my laptop cool when running games and i quite like the USB at the back. It is noisy, but then again you can turn the fan speed down if you want to.

Hey there... great Cooler Master Notepal XL. I bought it cause my Sony VAIO Pro SVP13213CXS 13.3-Inch Core i5 Touchscreen Ultrabook was shutting off for overheating. Since using this product laptop hasn't turn off again. The 3 USB ports are for power supply only (no data transfer). The only complain is the if unit is connected directly to the laptop's power supply USB port the lights don't turn off when you turn off the Cooler. But i resolve this by opening the unit and unplugging the lights connector inside the Notepal XL.

I can confirm the fan is silent. Even on the fastest speed setting there is very little noise. I previously had an older Cooler Master product and could hear the "quiet" fan over the TV, on the XL there is no interruption. it is extremely light weight and portable. Just a couple of snags; - A 17" laptop overhangs the sides, with a gaming laptop the fan does not cool exactly where its needed. - The cool air intake on the front also pumps out a lot of cold air during use, so does create a chilly atmosphere if using this on your lap, or at a decent height desk you get a nice breeze to the face, great for hot summer, not so great for British Autumn/Winter. - The rear operation port (USB connection, on/off switch and speed control) is a little awkward to reach and limiting for positioning on a smaller desk. Snags aside this product is worth the extra spend, the fan is incredibly powerful, and positioning (without extended legs) is comfortable for use.

Hello, I purchased this whilst my brother was returning his unit for a faulty USB connector (it went loose and then disconnected the power feed) He sent it straight back to a UK reseller of CoolerMaster) Now after a similar short amount of time, the unit I just purchased failed last night in the same way. If I wiggle the usb plug upwards the blue light comes on and the fun runs up. When I let it go ti turns both off. This must be a poorly engineered product by the manufacturer since 3 have failed in such a short time. These units are not cheap so need to have it replaced or return of my payment. Ken

La pega no viene por el producto, sino por el reparto, ya que el repartidor, al no estar en casa, dejó el paquete en donde primero se le ocurrió antes de consultarme (un bar cercano). De haber estado peleado con el dueño lo hubiese perdido. Antes se debería consultar al receptor del paquete

I waited months to receive this item but it was well worth it. The fan is effective even at its lowest setting and is virtually inaudible. Expect a long wait, but buy it anyway.

Been using this for 2 years now. Still works as well as it did on day 1. Will note though that this is only a fan for the bottom of your laptop. If you live in hot areas, you will still need additional cooling (like an Aircon).

This cooler is quite effective. The mesh traps moisture and lowers the temperature so that the single fan blows relatively cooler air into the laptop. The single large fan is more effective than my other cooler with 5 small fans. I can see an impact of about 5 deg C reduction. My only issue is that the cooler doesn’t have any stop-guard to prevent the laptop from sliding down accidentally. Overall this cooler is great.
