Here the sound is seamless with the rest of the system. It makes its presence known only when needed. They way a sub should be! Tested it on Deadpool and Dune (this year’s). Wow. Steely Dan’s “Hey Nineteen” sounds awesome. For info, room size 5m(l) x 3.5m (w) x 2.3m (h). Fine for this sized room (and smaller of course). However, the fact that the grill needs to be bought separately for £49 at this point, pushes the price of the unit to nearly £550. I’m one of those not liking the exposed look and for lower frequencies the argument that the sound is impacted is probably a nonstarter. A lot of other subs come into play at the £550 price point. Though I was warned by other posts, it is a bit naughty of Dali from my perspective. I was hoping they’d included the grill after numerous comments. I’m not sure it would have changed my decision since I was looking for a small footprint sub but I might have done more looking and testing otherwise. So if you prefer the more discreet look with the grill, be aware the cost will be close to £550. I like their sound. Seriously though, the e-12f has a 12" woofer and the e-9f woofer is 9" . Both have the same power output with the difference being in the frequency range dB 35-190 against 28-190. Bigger = Lower Many people, including myself, consider the e-9f the more "musical" of the two with the e-12f seemingly better suited to giving a cinema application a more exciting and involving experience. Neither are supplied with speaker covers. these have to be purchased separately from Dali (although a certain "pile'emhigh" vender does currently include them in the price) **Q: Would this subwoofer work with the Yamaha as-301 Amplifier** A: I have a Yamaha receiver and have two subs attached. You can attach where the amp drives or the sub. Good instruction come with the Dali. Great sound too for surround sound or hi fi. Am happy with the purchase. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Punchy little sub.. *by S***E on 24 July 2016* These are amazing little subs, don't let its size fool you - it will bone shake yu if you adjut it to that level..
