Compact, durable, easy to use, and generally just work better. Make sure not to overfill and you shouldn't have any major issues with wort blowing out. What I particularly like is that you can much more easily remove/refit lid of fermenting bin without fear of water sucking in. A good design feature. Very pleased and intending to buy more now I've tested. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good performing airlocks *by U***K on 27 May 2019* I use these airlocks solely for fermenting sauerkraut, and each batch has been the same as the last since I started using them. The smaller profile means they sit more securely – not being top heavy – and aren't as liable as the taller ones to tipping or getting knocked accidentally. This does mean they can't hold as much water, but as long as you check regularly this isn't an issue. All in all they're great, and a good price.
