In our 1960s house I am fitting plantation shutters. The window recesses are not precisely square or straight and this means the plantation shutters will distort when screwed tight to the wall.These spacers have ridges which helps them stick together making the job of selecting the exact right combination to fill a gap very easy. Mix and match till you have the exact thickness you want, slip in the gap and do up the screws. This gives a firm fixing to the wall without distorting the shutter frame.I have used them for UPVC windows and doors in the past. Again, very useful. Better than fillets of wood as these will never rot.
