An apparently well made and certainly well finished, high-performing bicycle light.
I bought this product about a month ago and have used it daily since it arrived. The initial impression was of a well finished and strongly constructed light. The body of the torch is all aluminium and is a pleasure to hold in the hand. It is heavy in a positive way, sturdy feeling. I ride to work and back around 3 miles each way, four times per day and have used it both in daylight and at night. In daylight the mid power setting is plenty to show my visibility to oncoming traffic. At night time I have found the middle setting to be more than enough light for cycling on unlit roads. In fact I have not felt the need to use the high setting and I only use the low setting for looking at things like my lock when locking away my bicycle in the dark. The mid and high settings are actually too bright for using for that purpose. On the road, I have found the medium power setting to be excellent, extremely bright and I have not had any real need to use the high setting whilst cycling even on unlit roads at night. I feel like I have something akin to a car headlight but pocket sized and strapped to my bicycle! It is more than enough. The attachment was without the need for tools, fits snug on my handlebars but is just loose enough that I can easily dip the headlight when facing oncoming traffic and angle it up again when cycling without traffic oncoming. The buttons are crisp and feel of good quality. I run the light for about an hour per day and charge it every three or four days and it has not run out on me yet. I am very happy with this bicycle light as it does everything I want and appears to be of good quality. I would buy it again if I lost mine. Great value for money in my opinion. I would recommend this light to anyone who desires a good yet not too expensive bike light.

Size of a roadlight, power of a headlight
I bought this light in October last year, and have been using it on a near weekly basis since then. It's the size of a roadlight, but extremely bright for its size. Not as bright as the larger expensive biking lights but substantially cheaper, you could probably buy 4 of these for the price of some of them. At the same time it has a very nice build quality. The design is very clever, the body made from a single aluminium extrusion making it solid and keeping it cool on the highest setting (it only gets a little warm). My biking friend has an expensive Hope light which is about 12 years old, and this beats it easily. It's bright enough to go almost full speed down some local single track in the woods at night. I also use this as a normal torch since it fits comfortably in the hand. I held off leaving a review until I had used it for a while, to see how the build quality faired. I'm happy to say I've had no problems. The battery life is great, it's lasted around 4 hours on the highest setting. The light won't cut out, it simply fades as it runs low. I've run it in heavy rain and never had any issues with it. You can also replace the batteries eventually when they start to fade (I haven't noticed any loss of performance yet). My one slight quarm is with the handlebar mount, it allows the light to pose side to side a little which is nice, but this mechanism is not as rigid as I would like, and it can shift from side to side a little if it shakes around, very minor problem though. UPDATE: The light recently fell off my bike while going downhill pretty fast (my dads fault for not putting it on the rail properly I think). The torch bounced a good 2 meters in the air spinning super fast. The back of the torch flew off stripping the screws in the process and was lost somewhere. The batteries stayed in the torch body and amazingly were intact although a wire solder joint inside broke away (I will add that if you want to replace the lithium cells it will require some basic soldering skills but the cells are pretty cheap at about £4 each when it comes to replacing them). After taking it apart I manged to easily fix the wire and I 3D printed a new back for it and its now working perfectly again. Although it took a bit of repairing I'm amazed it still works. There are a couple of big dents in the aluminium body but otherwise it's fine. Most other lights would probably have smashed to pieces.

Bright light!
Used this light for a week now under dark wet cold winter conditions and it has performed well. The rain never stopped it, the cold never stopped it, even falling off never stopped the light. In terms of lighting the way forward this light delivers; it has blinded a on comers. The unit is very well manufactured; it's solid. The bracket that attaches to the bike does not move around even when going over bumps which is good, it doesn't rattle. The unit slides off the bracket only after pushing a lever forward so once attached it doesn't go anywhere, and if you do want to detach it's easy enough. This is great for security. Unfortunately, since it is used in the pitch dark I do not know whether the light fades as battery power fades or whether it simply blinks out. The last thing I need is being plunged into pitch black so the light has been charged every night after use because, and this is another problem, there is no mechanism to check the remaining battery power and information about runtime in different modes differs between Amazon product page (4hrs on high) and the companies own home page (2hrs on high or 3hrs on high). The memory function doesn't appear to work either; to an extent. Turning off on strobe won't turn on in strobe. I'm not fussed about this, just get on with it, but it could be a tad annoying. There are two lighting settings, each with different modes. One set of modes has more lighting options, default set has three modes. Memory function could have saved which set of modes the light was switched off on. All in all... happy with the light so far. Time will tell. Pros. Very bright light. Stable bracket, light doesn't move about. Easy to detach and reattach. Works in all weathers. Cons. Unsure whether the light fades with the battery or outright dies with the battery. Since a light like this will be used in proper darkness then battery status needs to be more readably available.

Decent light better than branded ones affordable quality in its class.
Top class product, Chinese versus Japan (not being racist) sorry but I used to think that cateye were a good brand but my last headlight was rattling on the bracket because of poor design and optical glass was plastic, more expensive than the Chinese one I had alongside it, so eventually I decided to replace the cateye with another Chinese light same model but weirdly it wasn't available, so after searching I found exactly same picture of the version I have and having looked at it carefully found it was exactly the same product with a different branding on it, so I've had the light for a while now and it is doing nicely and it is a more compact design very nicely put together no issues whatsoever with two of these on my bars I've no problem seeing the road ahead lit up plenty fully and fog is not a problem either, finally people need to stop giving the Chinese a hard time they aren't perfect but neither is anyone else, they make great products and crap ones just like the rest of the world. Buy this light it's a perfect price for such quality.

Stellar product and customer service
I got mine in september and used it for late evening commutes for over a month. I use the light on its maximum settings and it's bright enough that you clearly seen even with car headlights and streetlights around. Battery life is plenty long for several of my commutes. The build quality is nothing short impressive. The light itself has a metal case, no cheap plastic, both sleek and rugged if you're looking for aesthetics. It fits comfortably in the hand and would make a very nice handheld torch. Only drawback of the rugged metal case is that it's gonna get very cold if you use this in extremely cold weather. Gloves advised. The clamp it comes with is plastic but seems very thick and solid and has metal joints, as well as a rubber interior lining to prevent scratches on your handlebars. It has a lever that allows you to separate the clamp from the light, meaning you can tighten it on as much as you like without having to take it all the way off when you're locking your bike up. The only sticking point is the charging port. It's rather delicate and not all cables make contact properly, which could lead you to forcing the cable in, which in my case tore the port off the circuitry completely. However, much to Soonfire's credit, despite me writing to their customer email on a Saturday, it's now monday and I have already received a replacement free of charge. It's possibly the best customer experience I ever had. Definitely recommend. Worth spending the extra money over a cheap commuter's light that you might find in a generic bike shop.

There really is light at the end of the tunnel - it's me with this on my bike.
The darkness is coming, and as someone who has taken up cycling this summer after having not really done it in anger since childhood, I didn't feel like using the dark as an excuse to stop the journey. So I bought this headlight promising of brighter futures, and on that it certainly delivers. This light is equivalent to having a small star strapped to your handlebars; the image above was taken with the light on full but since the camera has tried not to blow the brighter parts of the beam path it has dulled the more distant parts. To put it simply I feel comfortable hurtling along pitch black cycle paths with this light at the same speed as I do in the daytime. With the light pointing ever so slightly downwards it creates a perfect beam path that brightly illuminates everything from a couple of feet in front of you (with slight illumination right up to the front tyre) up to several dozens of feet away, with "splash" that makes you aware of the presence of absolutely anything moving almost as far as the eye can see. Seriously - it's that good. I primarily use the medium and high modes, the low power mode provides little illumination and would only really be useful once you've stopped for a break for basic position lighting. I am cautious of the LEDs overheating and so limit my use of the highest mode to fairly short (10 min) periods when travelling at high speed. Honestly in most situations the medium setting is actually enough. The build quality of the light seems sturdy and the bracket is such that it doesn't move or drop its angle over bumps (of which I go over many). There are what look like hex screws on the back which I suspect give access to the 18650 batteries. As I own an intellicharger that can efficiently charge this type I have been tempted to unscrew the back to remove the batteries and charge this way, but have since resisted temptation in case something pings out and I can't find it. The built in charger does its job adequately. This gives me complete confidence cycling in pitch black conditions which is exactly what I was looking for in a bike headlight.

Rigid and Bright
I wasn't sure if the 1870 lumen was legit considering that the price was very low compared to other bike lights that are 800 lumens and costs much more but as soon as I got the product and tested it's brightness. It's legit. It does what it says on the description. The body is all metal and has a weight to it. It seems like it's shock proof and water resistant. It has multiple modes and are interchangeable very easily. I am overall satisfied with this product. The packaging is great and minimal. It doesn't have any specs about the device in the box which was a turn off but It seemed promising. Great product Overall.
