It's a coping saw
The .5mm blade is for extremely small materials.

Doesn't cut a normal PCB
I used this for the 1st time today on a PCB. It would not cut the PCB at all. I felt the Diamond Wire before trying to cut the PCB, I could feel the diamond grit on the wire. I felt the wire after attempting to cut the PCB for about 20 seconds - at least 20 strokes back and forth. The wire felt like a normal piece of piano wire. I am quite certain I don't have a special PCB. It is an every-day piece of PCB. I would not get this product again. I think I will try sending it back.

Jewelers Saw w/ 0.5mm Cutting Wire
Arrived in ample time. Haven’t used yet. Concerned about clamping force adequate to grip wire without slipping loose. Will have to wait to see and will follow up with comment following use. Setup and used briefly; satisfied with the ease of stringing the wire and satisfied with the grip-force of the clamps for the wire. Handles easily. The wire does cut with little effort and I will be looking into alternate sizes of wire that might apply for other, different tasks. Good job!

Wire blunt within a few strokes when trying to cut marble. Returned.
