Can the foam be completely removed from the case or is either top or bottom glued in place?

Case comes with foam internally lined . The lid portion is glued to same whilst the main storage foam was removeable in order to enable one to pluck/ pull gently out pre-cut small blocks to suit your needs /or/desired shapes .I use it for telescope lenses /accessories as they are fairly delicate and whilst this case is not in my opinion high security it is very light and offers a reasonable amount of protection ,however,I would be cautious of depending upon it in a situation if placed in a cargo hold on a plane/train /or bus ,rather ,keeping it within your sight. As a flight case in my opinion if mishandled and due to its light nature if roughly /carelessly tossed around or dropped inadvertently from a height contents might suffer damage from a jolt dependant upon their fragility. Overall I am extremely pleased with case as it is reasonably robust for my purpose.

What are the dimesions of the foam cubes, how deep do they go into the foam?

The foam is as deep as the lower section and divided into squares which you can remove to suit the shape of say a camera or delicate tools, hope this is helpful, I didn't need the case for individual items simply as a carrier for cables stomp boxes harmonicas etc for which it is wise frilly suited, it's very sturdy, every bit as good as an aluminium one which costs twice as much.
