Does this work with gas-oil mix for two cycle engins

I have tested this funnel.  It absolutely DOES work in filtering gas/oil premix from water; and the premix does not affect the funnel performance.  While I am not 100% sure what technology is used, the funnel DOES NOT simply rely on the difference in density to separate the water.  In fact, you can fill the funnel with water...and none will go through.  I validated this as well; and it functioned perfectly both before and after using with premix.  Sorry "P", but you are 100% incorrect.

Is the filter replaceable or how do you clean it

Manufacturer recommends that you NOT clean it. Filter portion is not replaceable because it doesn't wear out and is self-cleaning since nothing sticks to the teflon coated filter material.

After filtering several gallons of gasoline, how does the filter rid itself of the water it has absorbed?

Accepted Answer

The filter does not absorb any water. It prevents it from passing through and collects it in the sump of the funnel. It can be disposed of if heavily contaminated, or poured into a container  and saved as "unfiltered fuel".

Who Knows !!!!  I have filtered > 500 gallons of gasoline without any problem.  However, as an experiment when I first purchased it, I mixed about 1/2 pint of water and methanol in 1 gallon of gasoline.  Under that scenario, the filter clogged after about 1 quart of gasoline was filtered.  So, in conclusion, it will clog proportionally to the amount of contaminants in the fuel.
