Great and very powerful waffle maker. My old one broke down and 2 little children has been asking me to do a waffles for their breakfast over the weekend. So decided to get this one according to so many good reviews, and did not regret at all. It's makes waffles very quick (3-4 mins) to compare to my old one (7-8mins). Waffles are cooked evenly and had a nice golden colour. Wafflemaker notifying you when waffles are ready. Don't need to wash it if you use coconut oil to cook and had a right amount of butter. Just once is cooled down wipe all excess with kitchen roll tissue. Definitely recommend to get this one if youre looking for a best waffle maker.

I love waffles. My wife is the true genius in the kitchen when it comes to her delicious pancakes and other tasty treats. I've been wanting waffles for breakfast for a long time and so my wife eventually suggested that I get a waffle maker and she would put her talents to good use by mixing us up some batter. I decided on this particular make and model of the VonShef after reading copious reviews. It arrived quickly. The very next day, in fact, thanks to Amazon Prime. But we waited for the weekend to use it for the first time. As it turns out, it was the May Bank Holiday Friday, coinciding with VE Day. My wife mixed up a batch of batter from a recipe for waffles on the BBC GoodFood website and we had delicious golden waffles in about half an hour. They were scrumptious! The waffle maker is good value for the money. It is easy to use. It is also easy to clean, as long as you avoid any over-spill, which is more difficult to get out of the crevices. Just be careful not to overfill the plates with the batter. A little goes a long way. My wife did say that the plates could have been slightly deeper to stop any leakage, but she is still very happy with the performance of the waffle maker.

We've had this for two years now. It is easy to use and it cooks fluffy brown waffles how we like them. The only downside to this is cleaning it after use. I started off using ear buds to help get the black gunk from the spray oil. But after a few times of cleaning it that way, I just simply use a dish brush I bought from Tesco. I get the brush wet and then squirt some dish soap on it, then clean the waffle maker that way. You shouldn't run it under water, but to rinse, I keep the water on a very low trickle to rinse the soap off as I try hard not to get water anywhere but on the part that cooks the waffles. It is the easiest clean up method I've tried and it's still working. You do have to use spray oil or waffles stick but with a good recipe that calls for vegetable oil instead of butter, I find works better and waffles are less likely to stick. For the price, it does what it should and it's reliably produced light brown fluffy waffles. The cooking time can fluctuate after you do the first batch, which can take 2 or 3 minutes, the next batch might take longer, it's not consistent and you have to gauge how much batter to put it each side. It's just something you will figure out thru trial and error. Too much and it will spill outside the edges and too little, then they look like the German waffles with the thin edges. That's it, that's this waffle maker in a nutshell. We are happy with it.

great waffle maker. At first you have to follow the instructions, clean the non-removable plates with a damp cloth. Then turn on the waffle maker, green light means heating, red, ready to use. Here was my first confusion, as I was expecting green light is ready for use. But no, red light on = ready to use. Very important, for the first time -use the waffle maker without any batter, let the plates burn off any residue from the factory for 2 - 5 min. Then the first batch of waffles can be thrown out (to mop up any residue). Now my recipe makes 3 batches, so 6 waffles in total. You could double the amount if you want more. You can make it the night before and it will be ready to use in the morning. The batter will be thick, that is normal. I use a normal ladle and 'pour' the batter in the middle of the plates. With the back I quickly spread the batter a bit if needed. Important is to be quick and do not leave the waffle maker open, it will loose heat and you have to wait till the red light is on before you can bake again. Also during baking the lights can be both green & red, this is also normal, it is heating up in between cooking. Now finally here my basic recipe for 3 batches, 6 round waffles in total: 180 g self raising flour 20 g caster sugar pinch of cinnamon (optional) Whisk this together in a big bowl and set aside Now in a pyrex (or similar) jug whisk together: 200 ml milk, 1 egg, 1,5 tablespn odorless vegetable oil (I use sunflower oil) and then finally 1 teaspn of vanilla extract (optional). Whisk these ingredients till well combined. Now add these wet ingredients to the bowl of flour/sugar/cinnamon mixture and beat till combined. Like I'd mentioned before, this will be a thick batter, but it worked for me so far. Heat up your VonChef Large Round 2 slice waffle maker till the red light is on. Open lid, pour 1 ladle in the center -each - and spread out a bit if needed. Gently place lid down and let the waffles cook for a minimum of 3 min. I like mine a bit crispier, so I cooked mine for 5 min. Do not open and or press down the lid during cooking. There will be steam coming from the waffles while they cook. The steam is hot, so be careful for escaping steam, also when opening the lid after cooking. Remove waffles with a wooded spoon, serve on a plate with any of the following and or a combination: maple syrup, cream / icecream fruit other toppings. ENJOY :-)

We got this at Christmas and still use it every weekend. Great waffle maker, sturdy and generous size waffles. The plates are not removable but because they are non stick, a go with the sponge and a bit of kitchen cleaner does the job.

I was disappointed with this purchase. The product is missing the part shown in the photos, which makes it unstable on my kitchen countertop and it wobbles during use. It also arrived with minor scratches, and the packaging looked like it had already been opened. Based on the condition and packaging, I believe I was sent a returned or previously used item rather than a new one. Overall, this was not the quality I expected.
