An excellent light source for anyone who is in the dark - anywhere!
Bought this for use when out on our boat - a good light is needed to double check moorings after dark, also when returning from various local entertainment centres and a really good light source is useful if you are still under way after dusk! This light is exceptional! Our first trial was from our front door - immediately opposite is a 220 yard cul-de-sac, the house at the end has an adjacent garage, which it illuminated perfectly - and that was before it was fully charged. Charging is easy a row of small but bright blue lights indicate how much charge remains- when all light up, charging is complete. It can be used as an emergency phone charger and can be charged with a suitable fast-charge plug to the nains or via your PC or laptop. The front light has a nice wide beam and the light is clear white, not blue white so things show up clearly, the red pulsing sidelight is clearly visible at 100 yards and the other sidelight provides a comfortable amount of emergency light in the cabin. For the money this is excellent value - lightweight but well made and easy to use and would be ideal for campers, caravaners and campervaners as well as any homeowner with a garden and even after-dark dog walkers!

Excellent utility torch with a very good main beam
Purchased this after much searching for a powerful beam torch and trawling through pages of claims by sellers of โmegaโ lumins torches that only fell short by customers had purchased them in good faith only to be disappointed with items that didnโt live up to the hype. This is an excellent torch in terms of the bright beam that has a peripheral โhaloโ of very useful light to Illuminate the surroundings. In addition it has the camping lantern on one side and the red flashing emergency light very useful for vehicle breakdowns etc. Also the bain of rechargeable torches life is the actual time in use before the torch actually completely dies and needs recharging, I havenโt tested this yet however it states 2 hours continuous use on full beam although a couple of contributors who have tested this actually achieved 5 hours which is a massive improvement of the old rechargeables from not that many hears ago gave 20 minutes service!! Therefore I can unreservably give the torch 5 stars as it is offers an excellent main beam plus the camping and emergency light facilities in addition to feeling robust at the same time as being Light weight.

Good quality, won't let you down and an excellent searchlight
This shape of torch isn't as common these days as it was 20 years ago. Before modern white LEDs came in, if you wanted a work light that would last any length of time or be bright enough to light a fair distance, it had to have a big box of D size alkaline batteries or a lead acid battery, and a big reflector to focus all the light from a relatively weak incandescent bulb. These days, with LEDs using fraction of the power and giving more light for far longer from far more efficient batteries, this "hand lamp" shape has fallen out of favour somewhat. Anyway history lesson over. Although most of the space in the "box" of this one is empty space (you can see through it when the side panel light is on), this shape still has many of the advantages of the old design. It's comfortable to carry, it's stable put on a surface, and it has a big reflector that allows all of the *extremely* bright 10W LED's light to be focused in a very tight spot for maximum distance. Some comments say it feels cheap; I'd disagree. It's superbly light but the plastic is relatively thick and strong. It's so light because the batteries are lithium ion and packing the same energy as that old stack of D batteries or a lead acid into a tiny, featherlight package. There are two, but they cannot be replaced without opening the unit, and most people will throw away the torch when these die. However, they are just standard 18650 Li-Ion, so technically you can open it and change them to prolong the item's life. They should last long over four years if looked after as-is. Unlike lead acid, self-discharge is very low, so it should still be charged six months later when you haven't been using the torch, although you should not store in a warm place or leave it flat for extended times like all rechargeables. This must be the brightest torch I've seen yet, except the million candle power gimmicky ones (the big heavy ones that last about 10 minutes and take 24 hours to charge), and definitely the brightest LED one. The spot it produces is brighter than a 85W HID torch close up and actually has more range (although it doesn't produce as much light overall). Light quality is very white and not tinted at all. It's definitely a searchlight as advertised, but that's also its weakness; there's little light spill around the main spot, so it's great at distance (easily half a mile) but won't illuminate a large area at moderate distance. Focus is fixed and can't be adjusted for that. This makes it less useful as a light for say, the home, the car, camping, or even for investigating a noise in your garden in the dark, but still far from useless. You'll just need to move that spot around a lot more. It's charged from USB (cable provided) and can charge anything else that charges from USB, making it wonderfully flexible. The indicator wasn't very accurate first time I ran it down (it stuck at 4 dots for ages then dropped to 1 very quickly), but I find that common among Li-Ion and usually settles after a few cycles. I find it very comforting that I can charge it with everything from my laptop to my car to my jumpstart battery. Battery life is excellent and for me easily met the claims (6 hours for side lantern, 2 hours for main light, full power). It also can charge a smartphone. It's IPX4, which means technically rainproof, but not submersible or for taking out in typhoons. The side panel light is good as a lantern and for close up; it's also very sunlight-white and will easily light a room. Its dimmer setting uses PWM, very common among LEDs, and some may find this hard on the eye if they can see the 'strobe' effect when lit things are in motion; others don't notice it at all. The full power setting does not use PWM. The reverse face has a flashing red SOS panel, again LED, that would be good for signing a car breakdown. The SOS runs for at least 8 hours, probably up to 12, but I haven't tested. The torch takes 6 hours to charge from flat, but can be longer depending on the USB source - computers USB are particularly slow ports to charge from. You do not get a USB charger plug with it, but they're common enough. Apart from the over-focused spot, the other factor that would make this not exceptional for camping or car use is lack of a lens cap, even a cheap one. Throw it in the boot or in luggage without one and the glass will become dull and scratched or broken. Both this and the lack of focus are a pity, as otherwise it would be perfect as a car torch with the lantern and SOS and the ability to act as an emergency phone charger, and would get the torch five stars from me. If you want a very light torch that's a spotlight that you can light a tree a mile away for hours, five stars. Stop reading now. As an all-round work light or car light though, lack of focus or lens cap really works against it, so in that case I'd give it four stars. It won't let you down, but if you don't need the searchlight you may probably find models out there that will do what you want better or for less. I keep mine in the car, but keep it in the box to protect that lens, which isn't ideal. Overall though, a good quality torch that's worth the money. You can't go really wrong getting this, even if it's not the perfect all rounder.

What a light
Well it certainly does brighten the garden up when I'm checking on the dogs late at night. All the parts work in the various stages and seems well made if not lighter than you would expect. For the price seems to be great value ... Early doors but have high hopes.

Luke 2:32 A light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.
I have to say I love this item - though not in the physical sense. I mean I like it physically, as it is an object, but I have no emotional feelings towards it, except platonic love. It is very bright, especially when you turn it on, and works really well at night when it is dark and you need more light to see things. The beam is very good, and reaches all the way to the bottom of our garden. To put that into perspective, our garden is about twice as long as Matt's back garden and it easily illuminates Matt's path all the way to his shed, which is quite a long way as you can imagine. About half the length of our garden in fact, and I can see all the way to our pond, which is easily further than Matt's shed is from his back door. To be fair Matt does have a bigger front garden than us, but we didn't try it out there as he has a street light, so you can see anyway when you come up his path. It isn't pocket sized, unless you are Andre the Giant out of The Princess Bride, so you have to carry it about manually with your hands, but it doesn't weigh much, and it's a small price to pay for not stepping in dog poo on the lawn, which I used to do every evening. Actually that makes it sound like a hobby, which it obviously isn't, but you can't see the dog poo on the lawn so I would often tread in one when I go to get the bird feeders in at night. You have to bring them in or else the jackdaws all congregate at dawn and make a racket. I mean I bring the bird feeders in, not the dog poo which I usually throw over the fence into the next doors flower bed. It recharges by storing energy somewhere, via a USB like what you get with a computer, so I presume it stores energy in the cloud like my phone does. It has got four little blue lights at the back which don't really light anything up much and I don't know what they are there for but they look nice. There is also a red light on one side and a white flashing one on the other, so you can put them both on and pretend to be a policecar, but you have to make your own noises as this doesn't have a siren or anything. In all it is a lot better than those old torches you used to get, which you had to set fire to before rampaging through the village, or those little ones you see in museums which went on peoples mining helmets and had a canary in them. I would certainly buy one for Matt but he still owes me fifteen quid for that cab fare so I won't throw good money after bad. I could get one for Alison so that she can walk back from The Staunton, but I bet she'd forget and leave it in the pub. In summation I'd certainly buy more of these if I had more deserving friends. Oh yes, it was also delivered very promptly by a new delivery man, who doesn't speak a lot of English, but he seems nice, and looks a lot like James Franco.

A really good torch.
I was taken aback about the weight of the torch ,considering that it is quite a large torch , I could not believe how light in weight it is. The lightโs are really good , I have field opposite where I live and I can light up the distant trees , they must be nearly the quoted length of the main light beam . Do I give the impression that I like the torch ? Well the answer is I do very much.

Lightweight with poor battery life
No impressed with this for the price. Very lightweight. Not at all as sturdy and solid as it looks in the photos. Wouldn't like to drop it on any hard surface. But the main thing is the battery life. I don't know if there is something wrong with mine but the battery literally lasts minutes after a full charge. Would not recommend
