Sennheiser HD 205 II Closed Back Around-ear Stereo Headphone With Rotatable Ear Cup

Sennheiser are well known for producing quality headphones. These are pretty cheap, but are very very good for 50 quid. And very popular. Bit tight round the head, but they do loosen up after a while. Rotatable earcup is very very nice for djing.....good volume too, but if you're playing on a big PA at hi volume....you might have to turn them up to the point where your hearing starts to get damaged. Be careful, or your career won't last long! I guess the same can be said for most hi-volume club environments though. The cable pissed me off, 2 metres long and really thin....had to keep tidying it out of the way, and even a misplaced chair leg will cut it in half if it's trailing on the floor. Many, many times I wished for a short, good quality coiled cable, like some of Senn's more expensive models....definitely a negative point there. So, I bought these in Jan 2012.....and here I am in July 2013, and I can't find them.....they're around somewhere, with a non-functioning right earcup. Something to do with a loose connection, because whenever I swivelled the right cup, the sound would cut out... Apart from them only lasting a year, I still give them good marks. They were treated badly, being used for 8 hours at a time at many house parties, playing very bass heavy techno, house and other electronica. I spent months in my studio using them as reference cans in Ableton Live, used them in college for sound engineering, used them on the move for my iPod.....I used them everywhere! They were sat on, chewed, crammed into backpacks and treated with very little respect....and still lasted 12 months! After a while they get very loose and creaky,and definitely lose their solidity. Still fits on the head nicely, after a month or two of 'wearing in'. I loved these headphones, because they're so cheap....and in my opinion, they equal Dre Beats, which are at least three times the price. Don't believe the hype about Beats.....you can be a hipster if you want, walking around looking all trendy....but for those of us with some sense.....we know that you can spend the same or less money on something far superior....These HD 205's can really take the fight to much more expensive models. So......these cans are not world class, they are more 'jack of all trades', all rounders on a budget. If you want to step up a notch especially for d'ing, then perhaps consider the HD25'S, extremely good monitoring phones! Recommended, and for the price, are you really going to have many regrets? I

Over many years, I've been a fan of finding the right headphones. A product that was comfortable for a long period of time, incredibly clear sound, great design, deep base, single corded (just more convenient) and most importantly a reasonable price. These headphones fit this description perfectly. It's been a while since I bought these headphones, but i'm sure they were slightly cheaper (around £35 I think). It doesn't surprise me though that a perfectly good pair of headphones will raise there price if they are well received. Personally I would be reluctant in buying these headphones for the price they are at now, but that's only because I didn't know what to expect. If I knew then what I do now, I wouldn't hesitate purchasing these brilliant headphones. These headphones have a crystal clear sound that suits any type of music and movie, especially with deep base songs. The often problem of having headphones that cover your ears, to me, can be that they move around too much if you're running or just in general feel a bit loose. These headphones really clamp onto your ears with a great amount of comfort, and when I say clamp I mean it's really hard to shake them off. They come with a nice 3m cord, which is always useful for home entertainment use and occasionally a bit awkward if walking around with them, but rapping it up with an elastic band makes it much more portable. A big part of the sale for me was and usually is the design of whatever I'm buying, and these look slick, cool and very different from a lot of other headphones. Again, these are suitable for hours of use, without your head or ears getting soar. A truly highly recommended set of headphones.

I have been flirting with the idea of buying some decent yet affordable headphones for the past couple of months. In this time i have looked at a lot of different pairs but always ended up seeing great reviews for sennheiser products so i decided to check them out. I ended up narrowing it down to this pair, the 202s and the 201s. After looking at reviews for them all i decided to just go for these with the theory that they are more expensive so must be better (the carry case was also quite a plus point!). I havent compared these to the other pairs so i have no idea if these are actually better. I think reading so many reviews for these kind of set my expectations way too high! Dont get me wrong, they are quality headphones and easily compare to other expensive headphones that ive tried in shops in the past. I wanted a lot of bass to come with these headphones. (im 23 and though i do listen to quite a lot of rock, i probably listen to more electronic stuff). Id say they do pretty well with the bass, there probably could be a bit more and the cost of clarity but i feel as though they have a nice balance. I did find with some rock and metal music they didnt sound quite as good, but they are 'DJ' headphones so i guess they are probably more aimed at electronic and dance music (Which they do very well!) The main gripe that a lot of people seem to mention about these is that they are uncomfy. I was expecting to dodge this bullet as i have quite a small oval type noggin, but no, they are really tight. This is the only reason to not give them 5 stars. Overall, the sound quality is excellent for £35, if i wanted to splash the cash id probably get a pair of bose cans, but for £35 these do the job REALLY well. The case is a really nice bonus and makes you feel like you own a more expensive pair of headphones. The cable is really long, but using the same plastic wrappy thing that came with the headphones, i just tied it around some of the wiring to keep it a bit shorter as they only really have to go from my face to the side of this laptop (about 30cm distance). They are uncomfy, but if you want this sound quality and comfy headphones then you are going to be spending a bit more. For £35 you're really going to get either comfort or quality with most headphones. (unless obviously you find a bargain priced pair)

I bought these headphones on the recommendation of a recording studio engineer. I'm a musician and am fussy about being able to listen to good quality sound reproduction. These headphones are what I was hoping for in many aspects. The sound is rich and has depth and dimension. You can hear stuff in the mix which you cannot hear in standard iPhone earplugs. They create space in the music enabling the listener to home in on individual instruments and voices within the music. The bottom end is not exaggerated as it can be the case with many headphones and speakers etc these days. We'll have none of that muffled, wooley deep rumble here! That's not to say there's no bass because there is plenty of it-but it's rounded and clear and has a transparent quality which leaves enough space for the other frequencies to cut through cleanly. Overall I'd say that the sound is very natural. There is also plenty of distortion free volume available! I enjoy listening to them and have worn them for over two hours non-stop to record my own music with no comfort issues. I didn't find the fit at all too tight as some reviewers seem to - and I've got a large head! :-) I'd also like to point out that they have to be fairly tight over your ears to help block out external sounds of course. Which they do admirably. But they are not tight or sweaty. One warning though-the point where the connection wire goes into the headphone does look a bit prone to eventual damage from wear and tear. But that's the case with many such connections. The answer is to take care. Great headphones. I really enjoy them. Worth the money.

First off, I purchased these headphones to replace my previous pair (HD 201's) as they broke exactly a year after me buying them. I really liked the crisp sound of the HD 201's and the sound was balanced, which made them a bargain for the £14 that was paid. Good Points: In terms of the HD 205's, the headphones so far look and feel durable. The sound quality is very good which makes them a bargain at under £30. The HD 201's I owned before had nowhere near the amount of bass the HD 205's have; I prefer balanced sound rather than bass response, others may like things different, on the whole though I feel the 205's offer the best of both. The wallet and extra jack that come with the headphones is also a strong point. I particular wanted these headphones because of the fact that they have a single cable from the left ear, as two cables often get tangled, as this was very annoying with my previous headphones. I have also found them to be quite comfortable to wear for long periods. Bad Points: So far the only bad point has been the fact that they were very tight at the start of use, however this improved as I wore them more. On the whole, I feel these are very good stereo headphones, great for general use and DJ/mixing etc, and I would recommend them for purchase. Generally, another good Sennheiser product. Update (20/1/14): I recently purchased my second pair of these headphones. My original pair lasted for just over 2 years, which isn't too bad considering they are low-end. My opinion has changed somewhat since purchasing them the first time however. I re-purchased them firstly because of previous experience and the fact that they work well as stereo headphones. They are reasonably priced, have good sound quality and are fairly balanced in terms of response. They don't require much power either and block ambient noise well. They are definitely not comparable to mid/high-end studio headphones, but they're decent overall. I have used them for studio work and they are OK, but again there shouldn't be a high expectation for cheap cans such as these. Some have suggested that these headphones are suitable for production, mixing and monitoring. I have found them almost impossible to mix with and would advise against using them exclusively for that purpose. The low-mid response in particular is very inaccurate. I found myself going to and from the 205's, other headphones, monitors and speakers several times in order to get a decent mix-down. For me, monitoring with these shouldn't even be considered. I would say they are OK for music production, although I would be cautious when setting EQ levels and use them along with monitors or speakers. Update (11/2/17) My second pair have broken again, after 2 years of use; ear without the cable losing sound, the problem this time. Overall, this headphone is decent, however, considering it seems to only last 2 years with generous treatment, is telling. I've decided against buying another pair, although the balance of these headphones is very good. If only they would last longer.

First of all, the design of these headphones are very good, they look stylish, especially compared to other Sennheiser headphones. The build seems good, even though I haven't had them for very long. As many have said, the cable is very long, perhaps too long depending on how/where you use them, but I just tied it up to my desired length. Another thing people have frequently said is that the cups are tight on the ears, for me I don't see it - They are tighter than previous headphones I've worn, but they aren't too tight, and I'm sure they get less tight the more you use them. The sound quality is also wonderful, it has a big bass which doesn't vibrate too much, and top quality mid-tones and highs. I have played almost every genre of music through my pair, and the quality is amazing for each! Surrounding sound also becomes very muffled, so even at low volume you won't be bothered by outside noise too much, and they also do a very good job at containing sound within the cup, they don't leak sound at all really, at high volumes people around me say they can't hear it - which is a plus if you're in a busy room. Overall, I think the quality of these headphones all-round is very good for the price, just over £30. I would expect this quality from prices much higher. So if you're looking for a new pair of headphones that aren't too expensive, I think these beat any others out there! :)

Superb set of headphones. Bass response is good and has considerable drive, mids and highs are clear and easy to listen to. Comfy to wear but definitely need wearing in because they are tight to start with. They seem to be pretty good at stopping sound getting in when you are listening but not so hot on stopping it getting out when you are recording. Not a massive problem but if you don't want that, just be aware that there is some sound leakage. They come with an adaptor so you can plug them in a hi-fi as well as a generic mp3 player. Come with a lovely leather-esque bag too which you can keep them in if for some reason you don't want to be wearing them. I use mine for recording music and they are superb for that, I can just rotate the ear cup to one side to i can hear my vocals whilst listening to the backing track so there is no off putting latency from the vocal track being laid down (which can be very off putting when you are recording, I can tell you). Overall they are superb, only thing that worries me is the stringy cable. I think a heavier duty one would be better but overall, great value for money. 89%

I bought these headphones because i wanted some over-ear headphones that i could use to help block out noise when i was working on the train or in a busy coffee shop. These do a great job of that! The positives - The volume does not have to be turned up a ridiculous amount for the noise-cancellation to kick it and they do a great job of drowning out unwanted background noise - The actually quality of the sound on the headphones is really good too. There is enough bass, without it shaking your brain like a toddler with a rattle, yet enough for you to appreciate the undertone of different songs. I listen to a wide range of music from classical to rock to RnB and I found that these more more than adequate for all types of genre -The price is always important for everything and priced at under 30 quid i think they're a bargin considering i have seen the same pair on sale at a different retailer for around £50. The negatives - Comfort. The earpads themselves are really comfy. Soft faux leather that you can wear all day and not get your ears red hot but the headphones themselves were really tight on the head.That is not to say that they don't stretch to fit larger heads, its just when they are on your head, they seem to somehow squeeze a little too much. This normally means when you start wearing them for a few hours and take them off your head will start to ache. I've tried the old "stretch them over a pillow and leave them for a week" method and still no luck - The cable is ridiculously long. I mean, most people probably use this at home or on the way to work rather than DJ-ing but the cable is so long that you have to buy a cable tie, and even that ends up making carrying them around a lot more uncomfortable. Overall, I would recommenced these even though they aren't the most uncomfortable headphones. but, they aren't the least comfortable either. In my eyes, that is probably the only feature that is letting the product down.

I have not tried any headphones over 200$. compared to JBL these headphones have slightly less bass but are extremely detailed. Good bass, excellent mids and highs. Better all round sounds than JBL syncros or AKG Y50, best sound and clarity goes to my monster n pulse. These are the only headphones I owned once and purchased for full price again. They are worth the 80$ if you are looking for clear all round sound, do not expect bass like earbuds or akg, monster, or beats. At 112 decibels they are loud as JBL and AKG.

Ce casque m'avais été recommandé par quelqu'un ayant déjà été en sa possession et c'est vrai que la qualité du son est vraiment bien, c'est le premier casque que j'ai avec un aussi bon son et c'est vraiment agréable. J'appréhendais le fait que, dans beaucoup de commentaires, on évoque ce mal d'oreille au bout de même pas une heure, mais heureusement il n'en ai rien, je peux le porter des heures et ça ne me fait absolument rien, même avec mon piercing hélix ! Il est bien réglable et ajustable pour tous. Très bon casque, je recommande sincèrement.

Desde que compré unos auriculares de unos 12€ de esta marca, me encantó, ya que superaban en calidad a muchos otros con un precio parecido. No tienen un sonido extremadamente excelente pero para lo que valen y sin querer dejarse 100€ o más, son más que suficiente. Hago mis propias canciones y mezclas y mi nuevo EP tendrá un sonido mucho mejor gracias a ellos. Lo bueno: - Los bajos superan a muchos del mismo precio, pero tampoco olvida los agudos y el sonido conjunto se fusiona muy bien y es muy agradable. - Tienen buen aislamiento. - El cable es algo más grueso que los auriculares normales, por lo que puede evitar que se rompa sin querer o semejante. - El detalle de incluir un adaptador de jack grande (algo que yo personalmente no voy a usar) y una bolsita muy mona para guardarlos. - Relación calidad/precio excelente. Lo malo: - El cable, para uso doméstico tal vez es demasiado largo. Se pueden enrollar con el cachito de plástico (el del pan bimbo de toda la vida) y solucionado. - Mucho cuidado con el auricular derecho. Tiene la opción de girarlo hacia atrás (utilidad para DJs) y me han dicho que si se abusa puede acabar rompiéndose. Si no estás interesado en esa función, mejor no usarlo y dejar reposar los auriculares sobre el cuello, como de costumbre. - Será una chorrada, pero me costó un cojón abrir el embalaje, estaba super hermético y duro. Al final tuve que tirar de tijeras.

Great product. Ordered on 12.Aug.2017. Received on 14.Aug.2017 Sennheiser is a reputed brand. I have previously used the HD 180. Was confused between HD 202 & HD 205. Finally chose this HD 205 headset. The ear cups are little small compared to HD 180 & after nearly 2 months of usage I still feel this headset is a bit tight. May be it will still take time to loosen up. Comparison with HD 180 SOUND: The HD 205 is more crisp. Has good bass & treble. The sound is louder & much better than HD 180. Surely a good upgrade. BUILD: More sturdy & reliable than HD 180. Also the single wire feels more premium compared to the double wire setup of HD 180 Just remember that this is a little smaller & tighter setup. More of an on-ear than over ear headset. For pro-longed usage I found HD 180 better. Hopefully, this headset will get better with time.

Trotz einiger Bedenken aufgrund der vielen mehr oder weniger schlechten Rezensionen hier, habe ich die Kopfhörer vor zwei Tagen schließlich doch bestellt und sie heute erhalten. Ich muss ganz ehrlich sagen, dass ich nicht verstehen kann, warum man hier so viele tendenziell negative Meinungen über dieses Produkt lesen kann. Natürlich gibt es bessere Kopfhörer, aber für rund 40€ sind diese meiner Meinung nach völlig in Ordnung. Und natürlich kann man die wahre Qualität erst nach einiger Zeit erfahren, nach mehrmaliger Benutzung, aber sie machen einen soliden Eindruck (wirken nicht, als würden sie jeden Moment auseinander fallen) und scheinen eine lohnende Investition zu sein. Ich habe extra 'DJ-Kopfhörer' bestellt, da ich sie an meinen Gitarrenverstärker anschließe, um mein Spiel klar und möglichst ohne störende Nebengeräusche zu hören. Hierfür sind das einseitige 3 Meter Kabel und der 6,3 Adapter hervorragend geeignet und über den Sound kann ich mich auch nicht beklagen - für meine Zwecke allemal ausreichend. Das einzige kleine Minus ist die Optik: Ich habe als Frau einen eher kleinen Kopf und da wirken Die Hörer etwas groß, was mich aber nicht weiter stört, da ich sie ja sowieso nur zu Hause benutze. Der Vorteil daran: Mir passen sie sehr gut (was ja oft bemängelt wird), da mein Kopf eben so klein ist - sie drücken überhaupt nicht unangenehm. Ansonsten entspricht das Design dem auf den Fotos. Zur Hülle: Ich hatte ehrlich gesagt eine Hardcoverhülle erwartet (weiß auch nicht warum...), aber der Kunstlederbeutel ist auch super ;)
