Lovely cook book. Lots of pictures, easy recipes.

This ramen book is really well put together. The recipes are simple, clear, and easy to follow, with a good mix of quick bowls and more authentic broths. Ingredients are explained well, and the photos make it easy to see what you’re aiming for. Perfect for anyone who wants to make better ramen at home without it feeling complicated.

I wondered why Amazon classify this ramen book as Chinese food category.

I bought this cookbook for my son because he loves Asian food and wanted to try making ramen and similar dishes at home. It’s been a great purchase. The recipes are clear and there are lots of ideas not just for the noodles and broth, but also for different toppings and flavour combinations. He’s actually learnt to make an incredible pho from it, which has become a favourite in our house. It’s also really useful when you just want inspiration for what to add on top of ramen to make it more interesting. Really good cookbook if you enjoy Asian style soups and want to experiment with homemade ramen.

I purchased the kindle edition, which isn’t brilliant on mobile phone - I can’t read the recipes without making the page bigger - but the two recipes I have tried are good enough to convince me to invest in the hardback. The recipe ideas are varied and interesting without being difficult. Occasionally, the instruction could be clearer: the chicken wing ramen recipe springs to mind here - score where, exactly? Most of the recipes have ingredients which I can source from a well-stocked local supermarket; there are online suppliers for the more esoteric, and I find myself starting to treat ramen a little like I might treat minestrone: it works for using up bits and bobs; the recipes have been forgiving and the odd cheeky substitution has thus far worked!

I was quite excited when this book arrived. And then I started reading it... and it is full of mistakes and omissions. As just two examples, (1) the early chapter that explains what the different sorts of noodles are like says (and I quote) "The large packets of dried noodles sold in your local Asian store and supermarket tend to be dried noodles", and (2) the recipe for "Aubergine Miso Ramen" has zero mention of miso other than in the name/heading; there's no miso in the ingredients list, and there's no miso mentioned in the method. That's just two examples of many. I'm not paying proper money for a recipe book that is so unreliable.

Purchased the Ramen Cookbook for a Christmas gift for my adult son. The illustrations are nice and the recipes are unique but tasty. Most recipes are something he will make and require just a few unusual ingredients, nothing crazy. He’s super happy with it, as am I.
