Saying that, they work well. I'm a light sleeper and it's never woke me. How often will depend on the weather, it will keep opening and closing to keep at 21 degrees. There is a setting on the mail controller that allow it to be a number of degrees off the required temp before activating which my help reduce that for you. **Q: Will these work with a steam heating system in the United States?** A: If they will fit the US thermostatic valves and the controller is the correct voltage and the steam is available at all times ...... it should work! **Q: Does this work with the Amazon Echo?** A: Not directly. You need to pair this to the Evohome controller. The Evohome controller is what connects to you boiler via the relay box. Then the Evohome controller connects to this TRV and controls it via a proprietary wireless signal. It’s not WIFI. The Evohome controller is wifi so you connect that to your home network and you will then have App control. Once you have that set up the Alexa integration can be set up. That will then give you the control you want. **Q: Do the radiator valves connect to the main house wifi, or do they use a proprietary wifi provided by the controller?** A: As stated they use a different frequency from wifi and do not have any interface to your network directly. Good quality construction. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love it - but a little awkward to install *by I***H on 15 January 2026* When I bought my house (new build) in 2013 these radiator controllers were installed by the developer as part of a Honeywell system that was run by an ATF800 touch screen controller and an iOS app. The system has worked very well over the last 13 years with no problems until one of these THR92H1002 units failed and I could not get it to work. In the box, you get batteries (which in my considerable experience last about a year), a display mounting which angles the display upwards making it easier to read without you getting down to floor level, a value base and an adapter (the last two I didn’t need as they are installed on my system already). In terms of the adapter they look simple enough to fit as does the value base, but if I didn’t have them installed already I’d be unlikely to attempt this myself. DO NOT install the angled display mounting piece until the end as you can’t rotate the unit with it in place!!! (as I found out). The unit comes with instructions on how to fit it, including a QR code that takes you to the WRONG PAGE on the Honeywell website. So I suggest you search the internet for “how to install Honeywell HR92UK radiator controller” which will get you to there eventually. Given that I have the base and adapter already installed it’s very simple to screw this on to the radiator, but I had to screw and unscrew it a couple of times from different starting positions to make sure it was square to the radiator at the end of the turning/screwing process. The real pain was binding this to the Honeywell controller as you need three hands or someone to help you. I’d misplaced the controllers instructions but they’re on the website. The main problem was that the menu which came up on the unit when I tried to bind it was not in English and it was a real pain to change the language. All in all it took about 5 minutes to get working, so my advice would be don’t attempt this yourself unless you have a bit of a problem solving mind, if you are a bit handy it’s easy enough to do There are already reviews on here about the noise of the motor, so you can read them yourself, I don’t mind it, it’s not too loud and certainly wouldn’t wake me up. All in all this was a bit awkward to get working (faffy for those in the UK) but now it is installed it is working fine.
