Review: Really help with IBS and Diverticulitis - I came across these when researching things to help my IBS. They have the specific bacteria like Bifdobacterium biffidum and Bulgaricus which are said to work so well with gut problems. The suggested dose is 3 a day, one after each main meal. They’re easy to take but since I was on the Gaps diet to start with for 8 months, then the Fodmaps which is specially for IBS, I wasn’t sure if it was the dietary restrictions or the capsules that caused the 90% improvement. However, I ran out of them a few weeks ago a, and we were snowed in for 4 days. I was still eating the same food but I didn’t feel as well. I had painful abdominal a wind, nausea etc though less than before following the diets. The day after starting my new supply, I felt better, and the day after that, I felt much better. So I’m making sure I always have a spare pack in the house in case I run out. Apparently these are recommended by the Monash University ( Melbourne, Australia) who have done a huge number of scientific Tests in negative triggers for IBS - they clearly realise a good digestion is essential, and a bad one is not healthy, and, as a result came up with the idea of Fodmaps( basically sugars in foods that don’t digest easily and so ferment in the gut causing pain, wind, diarrhoea, constipation etc). So they come with a good backing. If you’re not good at taking capsules, you can empty it into a drink, so it says in the packet. They suggest you take them also if you’re going to a different continent for a trip; if you’ve been on antibiotics and generally to support gut health. The packets come in 14/ 30 etc and 130 which I think is the best value. I feel better and with lots more energy and good humour since I’ve combined both restrictive diets and these miracle capsules. I highly recommend them for anyone with less than optimum digestion, even if they’ve not had a colonoscopy and diagnosis. And of course cutting gluten and lactose and sugary foods helps a lot too.
Review: Good Product - Almost instant but perceptible impact. - I have had sinus infections for years, including nasal surgery. The doctors would just keep punching antibiotics and corticosteroids into me. I also used Nielmed rinse. This all became too much when the harder I tried to wash/clean, the more infections I was getting. Staphylococcus aureus was identified as the source and a particular nasty stain of antibiotics was used for a month, destroying my natural biome. I then started getting massive stomach and gut issues, along side my nasal infections. I eventually went to a FODAMAP diet to help the stomach, a specialist gastroenterologist and a nasal specialist. The nasal specialist explained that the antibiotics should not have been used due to Staphylococcus aureus being natural. The culprit was a candida infection that was persistent, moving into the space created by the antibiotics and going berserk, in my nose, affecting my stomach. My stomach/bowel after examination, was cleared of any nasties but it was explained to me that I now had a sensitive stomach and I would be on medication. My doctor recommended these Bio-Kult Advanced Multi-Strain Formulation for Digestive System, which the specialist rolled his eyes over, but I tried them initially two tablets once a day, with a healthy skepticism. I am now able to use the steroid again without sharp pains in my bowel 4 hours later. I also felt an improvement of my wellbeing and overall mood. A: Bio-Kult is a multi-strain probiotic. Why is this a good thing?Bio-Kult contains 14 strains of beneficial probiotic bacteria, which means our probiotic reaches more areas of your gut. **Q: Are the cultures live?**
A: Yes I make yogurt with these. Any comments about chucking them in milk and it not working are illinformed. You need to boil your milk first, use UHT or dried milk powder. You will not make yogurt with fresh milk and no heat no matter what you add to it. I add 1 capsule per 150ml of UHT whole milk and an electric yogurt maker, makes lovely mild tasting yogurt.

**Q: Is this a synbiotic ? i hear it is better to have pre and pro thx**
A: Synbiotics are when live bacteria and prebiotics are mixed together in the same supplement.  

Bio-Kult Advanced Multi-Strain Formulation contains 14 strains of live bacteria. it does not contain a prebiotic. This is because Bio-Kult is formulated for those with very sensitive guts.  Whilst prebiotic foods (which help to feed beneficial species of bacteria in the gut) can be a great addition to your diet, in those with dysbiosis (an imbalance of bacteria in the gut) they can often aggravate digestive symptoms when first introduced, causing bloating and discomfort. 

Once the gut flora is rebalanced prebiotic vegetables or a prebiotic supplement could be gradually introduced. 

Studies of live bacteria supplements, prebiotics and synbiotics all vary in their success. Research is indicating that adults may need 5-10g a day to have a therapeutic prebiotic effect (which would not be possible to fit into a capsule). 

Bio-Kult strains have been shown to be highly stable due to the addition of the protective coating so do not need a prebiotic to improve survivability through the gut.
