Try focusing more on grandma and less on the wifi...that should solve your problem

Does this work with Linux?

Hi Melanie. Increasing gain (eg this product) helps when the signal is weak by amplifying the signals going to your pc. If the problem you're having is not from weak signal but is from interference then the high gain antenna will also amplify the interference and you might not be better off.If your pc has 3 bars or better but is slow and drops out, then you need something else. If your pc has 2 bars or less then this will help you.I've used several of these products over the years (some with Sky routers) and I very highly recommend this brand.
