BX80684I58600K 8th Gen Core i5-8600K Processor

Bought this processor to upgrade my partner's frankly ancient gaming rig. I found installing the processor a cinch, especially after watching a couple of demonstration videos on YouTube first. The processor has a couple of notches in it which align to the processor slot on the motherboard perfectly. Just make sure you touch a radiator or some such to discharge any static before you handle it! Lift the arm on the motherboard to raise the processor socket assembly, drop the processor in, and then bring the arm back down. A little plastic cover pops off as the assembky clicks into place over the processor. The performance of this processor is great and more than adequate for gaming when paired with a decent graphics card. I installed a mini GTX 1050Ti and have found the set up for more than ample for most gaming needs. You can expect to play most games at medium to high settings depending on the demand of the game engine. Overall very, very happy with this purchase and have found its performance excellent so far. Please Note: This is for the processor ONLY, there is no stock cooler bundled with it. I bought a Coolermaster CPU cooler for about £30 which is virtually silent.

Bought this to go with a new gaming build- I installed it into an Z370 ASUS MAXIMUM HERO X motherboard along with 16gb of corsair 3200hz RAM and a GammaX400 cpu cooler. The new 8th generation intel cpus are beasts to say the least, you can see a real different from 6th and 7th gen with the extra 2 cores and coffee lake architecture. Good overclocking potential too: using ASUS's own OC software I easily overclocked my i5 from 3.6Ghz to 4.75Ghz with no problems whatsoever, thought if you want to really push it I can see overclocks of 5Ghz+ being possible (if a bit potentially unstable.) In conclusion this CPU is perfect for a gaming PC or a high power workstation- it was definitely worth the £200 odd I paid for it.

Intel New Coffee Lake i5 8600k 6 core unlocked CPU requires a z370 motherboard and 6+power phase Board if you want good overclock. With CPUs coming out every year you might see a better and cheaper CPU before next year so you might need to buy a new CPU & motherboard when you upgrade. Hence I dont recommend spending a lot on motherboard unless you upgrade after 3 years or more. Overclocking: Greatly depends on your sample. My previous 8600k did 4.7GHz @ 1.31v 90c where as this one does 5GHz @ 1.31v 85c Gaming Performance: From stock to overclock speed the performance gain isnt that noticeable unless you got 3000MHz or higher speed ram and also GTX 1080 or above for 100FPS plus on 1080p. If you got a lesser GPU or slower ram you can save money by opting for i3 8350k or i5 8400. Productivity: Acceptable performance when overclocked however a 8700k might be better choice as more core/threads helps. Power consumption: My i5 8600k CPU stock total system pull 110 Watts cine bench load 40 watts only idle. When overclocked 5 GHz at 1.31v 85c the cine-bench load went upto 200 Watts from wall ! I found my 24/7 sweet spot power/performance 4.6GHz @ 1.17v 65c & 45 watts idle 140 watts cine-bench load. Summery: 8600k and 8700k both priced high for the performance you get. I paid £230 for oem sample.These are the fastest unlocked intel CPUs now however the performance gain from a sky lake isnt that noticeable. However upgrade from sandy or ivy or even older generation definitely worth it. Overall I am happy with my processor. I hope my short review will help you to decide your purchase. Thank you.

Bought to replace a failed i7 8700k CPU. I couldn't afford to replace like for like, so went for this instead. It performs well. I've not oc'd it yet, but am happy with the performance at stock settings.

I will join the masses of people and say that this is indeed probably the best quality for money I5 8th gen core you can get on the market, It has never let me down a day in it's life, and is super fast for a CPU of this stature for gaming and productivity, both in 1080P and 2K (this being paired with a GTX 1070 Of course)

Perfect purchase, finally decided to upgrade from my awful a8-6600K system and couldn't be happier. I am able to Stream and play games at the same time, edit video footage and run Photoshop and illustrator with ease. I also use my PC for development work and even with chrome tabs open in abundance even whilst trying to game and stream I'm yet to see this go over ~75% usage apart from the full load stress test i put it under when testing it upon initial purchase. I have mine over clocked to 4.2 standard, but i have had it at 4.8 before it got a little scetchy. but power for value this is your best option as an all round chip in my opinion. there's not a lot it can't cope with.

A great CPU, strictly for gaming, very fast, overclocks well pumps out very high framerates close to the 8700K in most cases, I think the price is okay for what you get, if you're a gamer. Obviously if you're into more content creation and so on, a Ryzen or 8700K would probably be better suited. Achieving a 5GHz overclock with Coffee Lake is extremely easy, though.

Sild as retail...Intel Retain units come with coolers, this didn't. Had to buy one to be able to use it. If it has no cooler it's OEM. Fact.

Je viens d'un I7 2600K que j'avais monté en 2010, mais malheureusement ce dernier m'a lâché comme un traite après 8ans de bon et loyaux service Je ne voulais pas mettre 500€ dans un CPU j'ai donc regardé des tests sur le web sur les différents proc disponible, et cette 8ème génération de I5 m'a semblé tout à fait adapté à mon utilisation Déjà dans les jeux, bon certes je n'ai qu'une GTX970 et je tourne en 1920*1080, mais je n'ai pas vu de différence flagrante avec mon i7 2600k, mais cela je m'y attendais Ensuite j'ai testé une petite compression d'une vidéo Go Pro en 1080p et là oui j'ai bien vu une différence sur le temps de conversion Enfin, dernier test, le rendu dans fusion 360, logiciels de conception 3d de chez Autodesk, pareil, la vitesse d'exécution est bien supérieur, même si je dois l'avoué ces testes ont été réalisé avec une installation toute propre et j'ai doublé la capacité de mémoire passant de 8 à 16 Go, mais c'est quand même bluffant Je recommande surtout pour les gameurs, car d'après les testes que j'ai pu voir la différence avec le I7 8700k ne vaut vraiment pas le prix qui les sépares

Excellent i5 Coffee Lake CPU & overclocks well out of the box on a Aorus Z370 Gaming 5 mobo. Under water cooling, it runs cooler than my 7700K and at 4.7Ghz, it only saw 50C only on an EK monoblock running Intel stress test & benchmarks. Be advised that availability has been thin and has pushed the price above MSRP at times (won't use that issue in the rating of the actual product) so if you do purchase one, it may take time for it to ship. Outside of that, its runs perfectly fine for everything that doesn't really need Hyperthreading which i7 CPUs have. Unless your strapping this to a serious highend GPU, you won't miss the Hyperthreading of the i7. And since this is priced for more saving with performance, its the better choice. If you're into gaming/overclocking for general apps & programs mainly, this will fit the bill instead of an i7 8700K, so save the extra money for a good mobo and DDR4 memory instead.

Compre éste procesador despues de cancelar un i7 7700k y no me arrepiento, por un menor precio obtienes un excelente rendimiento todo terreno, lo uso para edición y videojuegos, corriendo juegos actuales ni requiere esforzarse. Las temperaturas son bastante buenas, aún en zona cálida me da un rango de 27°C reposo y 42°C máximo en videojuegos actuales (usando enfriador líquido). El i7 de octava generación sin duda es mejor, pero dudo mucho que necesites más que éste i5

REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR MOTHERBOARD COMPATIBILITY!! NOT JUST THE CHIPSET!!! This is an 8th gen intel core i5 with amazing click speeds. Great for hardcore gaming. I made the mistake of not checking my motherboards compatibility with the cpu, and it only supports up to intel 6th gen. So when I put in the new cpu it just wouldn’t turn on. I got a new motherboard and it works great. Easy to install. And it’s lowest clock speed is 3.6 which is enough for most high quality games. Also I recommend a good cpu cooler if your going to overclock it.

Excelente rendimiento. Lo uso para correr maquinas virtuales en rac para laboratorios de oracle estuve tentado a continuar por la linea de AMD sin embargo no me arrepiento de mi adquisicion la corrida en benchmark lo coloca en rating altos lo tengo en over clock de 4.8 por default es 3.6 con memorias a 3200Mhz adicional a ello lo uso para jugar y su temperatura nunca revasa los 65 grados (witcher 3, crysis 3, grand theft auto 5, zombie army trilogy, call of duty ghost) feliz con mi adquisicion
