Truly a long lasting treat
I have a super muscular black lab who weighs 85 pounds, and a German Shepherd/Corb Shepherd mix (Romanian bear hunting and wolf hunting sheep herding breed, very big) who's slightly bigger than the lab. They chew on them for about two hours at a time and then start arguing over who gets which bone so I take them away. I'll give them back a day or two later for another two hours and then the same thing happens. So I would say they probably get a good 8 hours of chewing on these before I pop them in the microwave to puff up, when they are about 2 inches long. The minute they realize that's what I am about to do they go crazy. It changes the texture of them and I think the heat just releases this smell that they absolutely love. But they come out of the microwave extremely hot, and not just on the outside. They have to cool significantly before I can give them back. So that does make my pups quite impatient. I pop them in the freezer and I know it's safe within five minutes. Another thing I've noticed is that they enjoy playing with these bones as much as chewing on them. When I first gave one to my lab when he was seven or eight months old, he sneezed at it and tossed it around the room like it was alive and he needed to kill it first. That went on for days before he finally started chewing on it. Now that he has a better idea of how good it is he plays with it a little each time I give it to him, but then really gets to work chewing on it. My shepherd mix who just turned one still plays with it that way for a while each time I give it to her, and that's not something she normally does with other treats or chew toys. She is strictly a chewer normally. I have purchased dozens of different types of treats for them online and in the store, and this is by far their favorite treat. It's also the longest lasting treat. Everything else I buy that claims to be long-lasting, whether it's a natural animal product or something factory made, is gone in half an hour tops. So in my opinion it is definitely worth spending a few extra dollars for these treats because they will outlast anything else I've tried and my dogs never get tired of them.

The best!
The best chew for my dog. We have tried other brands, but they don’t hold up to his aggressive chewing. These are great!

I love that I can see products at stores out in ...
I love that I can see products at stores out in the wild, then go to Amazon and find the exact same products at a reduced cost. I bought this for my super picky dog. He refuses any rawhildes, dog biscuits, dog toys stuffed with noms, antlers, etc. I've tried bully sticks, peanut butter treats, dehydrated chicken breasts and sweet potatoes, but I just can't find anything to really hold his interest. One day I was browsing through our local independently owned pet supply store when I saw this interesting product. The chew itself it all natural, and apparently made through a collaborative effort with local Nepalese people. The chew is basically a petrified cheese made from yak milk. You would think that cheese this dehydrated and hard would stink with the force of a thousand rotten Roqueforts, but this product has hardly any smell at all. I unwrapped it from the package and showed it to my dog (75 pound Akita). He immediately took it in his mouth over to his bed where he gnawed on it for quite a while (nearly 30 minutes) before taking a break and deciding something else was more interesting. I like that I can give this to him and not have to worry about him swallowing pieces, since the whole thing is digestible. I store it in a plastic bag and offer it to my dog, usually during dinner or other at home mealtimes when I want him to occupy himself with something. I also let him have it when I know we will be leaving the house for an extended period of time. My only complaint about this product is that it does have the tendency to crumble into small pieces that then get embedded in our plush carpet. The combination of this product plus doggie saliva somehow seems to form this super-glue like bond to which a vacuum sometimes cannot conquer. I've found that a paint scraper works well to remove the pieces from our carpet. Since I don't see us installing laminate flooring or hardwood throughout the remainder of our house in the foreseeable future, I now just let him chew this either in his crate, or on our solid flooring surfaces, or occasionally outside. One thing that I find particularly interesting is that when this product becomes small enough that he could potentially swallow it, you can break it into smaller pieces to offer as a crunchy treat. I usually keep two of these on hand so that when one gets chewed down to a nub, I can give him the spare. I can then break the nubby leftover into a few small pieces, nuke them in the microwave, and turn them into a crunchy cheesy treat reminiscent of a cheese puff for my dog. A small piece expands almost 10x the volume once microwaved, meaning that a small 2 inch nub can be broken down so that it lasts quite a while.

No complaints from the K-9s
My two Boxers (70 lb and 50 lb) love these chews! Yes, they are pricey. How long it will last depends on how aggressive your chewer is. My 70 lb dog chewed up nearly 3/4s of the chew in one 50 minute period. The other dog only got through about 1/3rd of hers. These dogs "guard" such goodies, so I separate them while they enjoy these treats. There was a lot of excitement when I opened these, so for my dogs as a special treat these are great. These chews have a cheesy fragrance and are very hard. They do not seem to stain anything, but they do break off into tiny bits, so you may want to allow your dog to consume them on a towel for easier clean-up. I have also used the elk and deer antlers for chews as well. The ones I got previously held up pretty well, but no matter what treats I provide I always monitor consumption. Once the treats shrink with use and look like they could become a choking hazard, they are discarded. What ever treats you use for your furry family member--beware of all treats with links originating from China! Cheap treats are not necessarily a good bargain and can mean heartbreaking illness and even death for the pet ,due to unscrupulous manufacturing practices.

Dangerous Inconsistencies
This product is DANGEROUS and should be removed from Amazon until product quality issues are addressed. The quality of this product has varied significantly over the last few years. When this product first appeared on Amazon (shortly after appearing on the TV show "Shark Tank") it was a long lasting high quality dog chew. Unfortunately, there have been significant issues with product consistency more recently, including: *Chew consistency is chalky (e.g. softer) and lasts 10 minutes (instead of hours) *Smoking process leaves excessive smoke smell, tainting the chew (chew smells like an ashtray) *Significant amounts of mold/spores present on the chew (visible inside the new, unopened package) *Chew is over dried (DANGEROUS) - when the chew is exposed to water (e.g. dog saliva) it forms cracks which chip off in to dangerously sharp pieces I cannot stress the importance and danger of the last issue. These chews become fractured (as shown in numerous pictures by other reviewers) , causing pieces of the chew to shear off. This appears similar to 'flintknapping' (the processed used to make arrowheads or sharp tools using rocks); the chips are both pointy and can have very hard thin edges (sharp). The chew continues to slough off pieces as the outer layers are chipped off. As other reviewers have mentioned, this can cause to the chew to disintegrate, leaving pieces too large to digest, but small enough to swallow. If you do decide to purchase this product (please don't), please first expose to the chew to warm running water for 1-2 minutes, then allow the chew to dry out. If you hear subtle cracking sounds (like pop-rocks) while the water is running or small cracks appear on the chew once it is dry, RETURN THE CHEW - IT IS DANGEROUS.

Decent chew
I was really excited to find a chew that's supposed to be super long-lasting AND natural so I can feel good about giving this to my dog and enjoy some quiet time! Plus, my dog LOVES cheese and yogurt and anything dairy so I figured this would be a huge winner with her. Obviously since you're reading this review you realize that this thing is pretty expensive. Ok...not PRETTY expensive, it IS expensive. Unfortunately it didn't turn out to be quite the incredible new chew discovery I had hoped it would be. First of all, I am not new to dog chews. My fiance and I have an 80 lb Doberman who has had raw hides (in many shapes and sizes), bully sticks, tracheas and a bunch of other kinds I can't even remember the names of. Since she is quite the spoiled little princess dog, she gets chews on a pretty regular basis and has learned to make quick work of chews that used to take her longer. Raw hides and bully sticks last the longest with her. She'll usually work on it for an hour or so (maybe less) before wrapping it up and saving it for later. They usually last 2-3 sessions. Since this is supposed to be ultra-long lasting, I expected it to last longer than her raw hides and bully sticks. Well...in an hour (maybe a little longer...but only by 10 minutes at most), she had finished half. So pretty much that means it would last 2 hours if she ate it in one session. After half she decided she had enough and lef it for later. So really, this lasts no longer than her raw hides and bully sticks except it costs about 4x (or more) more. Granted the benefit of this is that it doesn't smell (like bully sticks) and it doesn't stain (like raw hides). However, I don't think that benefit is worth all that extra money. Obviously this is expensive because of its source and the process for making this and I completely appreciate that...I just don't want to spend money on that. Really though, if this was something she absolutely went crazy for, I'd say it's still worth it to purchase for her (like I said...she's spoiled)...but she's not even that into this thing. I thought for sure she'd love it since it's dairy-based but she's pretty 'meh' about it I guess. It took her awhile to get into it. She was crazy sniffing and sitting for it when I first took it out to give to her but after she got it she spent quite awhile trying to find a place for it and then pretty much just left it there for a few hours. I figured it was because she wasn't familiar with it and wasn't sure what to do with it, but now I think it's just that she has other chews she prefers. After she finished half to leave for later I was worried she would finish the whole thing in one day so I took it away for awhile. When I gave it back to her she pretty much just found a place for it and left it there...she'll pick it up occasionally but not to chew. She likes to pick things up when she gets excited and that's the extent of her interaction with this thing. Since then she has received a few other chews that she has chewed, left, and gone back to and finished...this one is still just sitting there. I'll probably buy another one at some point in the distant future to see if she takes to it more (maybe it IS just a novelty thing with her) but really, this is no miracle ultra-long lasting chew...at least not for my dog. 2 hours is a good amount of time but there are other chews that provide the same chew time at a fraction of the cost. Oh...I should also mention that there didn't really seem to be any adverse effects with this for my dog (stomach upset, diarrhea etc.).

My Pup Loves This!
My dog loves this. She is a very aggressive chewer so bigger and thicker is better for her. These chews are very durable. She dropped it off of the sofa and broke it. We followed the microwave directions (on the package) and puffed the broken bits. She loved that even more. She played with it and chewed it. I kept an eye on her because I was worried about small parts and choking, but she did fine with it. The puffed version is a little messier, but she enjoys it so much and it keeps her busy so no big deal. I will order again.

Great
My dog loves these. She's a nutter for anything cheesy. I have tried all sorts of long lasting natural chews - antlers, chew toots, but keep coming back to these. They are expensive but they do last. My dog gets 2-4 weeks out of one and she has access to it all the time. I just wish they were available in the UK, as waiting for them to arrive can be long.

My Dog loved this himalayan treat!
I decided to buy this himalayan treat for my dog for the very first time and my dog loved it! This chew kept my dog busy for awhile and she just loved the taste. It lasted a month and she loved how I followed the recipe for the remainder of chew, I heat it up and she loved this part as well! I will be ordering more as we were both happy with this chew, however it is very pricy I find so this is a special treat to order, but considering how long it lasts I was happy with the purchase, I took one star away for price point!

Amazing stuff
Bought this product 2 weeks ago on a friend’s recommendation. And WOW, it has been a absolute treat for my dog. He has only managed to finish just half of it after 2 weeks of chewing 20-30 mins everyday. So i am sure it will last 2 more weeks. I am very happy with the product.
