Bought the DAX to replace a Russound system that had finally given up on me. Ordered the system through an Amazon Vendor, Ayreborn Audio. Unit arrived well packaged with all parts as advertised. The system was easy to wire up and once hard wired to my network connected to the control App almost instantly. Setting up zone and source names was also straight forward. The system is plenty loud and drives my wall and ceiling speakers nicely. Would recommend it to anyone wanting to replace an existing wired system. For full disclosure the first unit that arrived had a small problem with one of the zone outputs. Ayreborn got back to my emailed inquiry within a day and paid for return shipping. They tested the unit, confirmed it had an issue and sent out a new one which is running perfectly. Appreciated the great post sale service. Would happily buy from them again.

I looked at several options for home audio and for the amount of Zones I have at my house. This DAX88 met all of my needs. I think the mobile app has changed over the years, but the current version as of this writing is an app called Matrio Control, and I dont really have any major complaints. Its very easy to control the device with multiple phones, rename zones, set individual volumes/balance/bass/treble. Sound quality is good/great, it powers all zones with a ton of power. A few improvements that could be made: - additional wifi inputs - ability to turn off LEDs on the front of the device - bluetooth receiver built-in - official support for automation via home assistant or other home automation platforms - sometimes I with it had a physical remote Regarding the last point, the device is controllable over serial connection, but I wanted to be able to control over ethernet/wifi to avoid a separate serial device nearby. I wrote a home assistant integration called ha-matriocontrol which accomplishes this (available in HACS). Ive been very happy with the device and would buy again.

There are numerous wired speakers in rooms throughout my house and I’d been looking for quite a while for an affordable way of distributing multiple audio sources to them. I explored various options for how to do this, and even spoke with a number of manufactures' consultants, including Dayton about my specific setup. I decided to purchase the DAX88 in August 2022 after some delay due to (I’m guessing) supply chain issues in early 2022. The setup was relatively easy. Thankfully, the documentation, illustrations and directions were easy to follow, clear and grammatically accurate. My home audio system is now integrated in a way that allows me to control each audio source and sets of speakers (zones ) independently. The Matrio app provides a decent interface for access and control. Among other available sources, AirPlay in my case, lets me stream from many sources originating on my iPad, iPhone, etc., over my home Wi-Fi. I’ve been tweaking the setup now for a few months and I’m very pleased with the performance. Although not a show stopper, it would be great if some enhancements were made to the Matrio app, including integration with Alexa as well as the ability to name and save custom whole-house configurations.

First I need to start off with I WAS a Juke owner. It was the single most frustrating piece of technology I have ever owned. It couldn’t stay connected to my WiFi I even tried to use an external Ethernet to WiFi and it wouldn’t work. I got really pissed and bout this and not only was it less expensive it is a far superior product. Just compare the weight between the two. This works, works very well and it sound exponentially better. It’s so good that I am considering replacing my mixer set up with this unit because it has so many inputs. I even called their tech support with a simple question and they got back to me right away with a human on the phone. Not a never ending string of emails. I couldn’t get Juke to even respond
