Must have, must read book
I have just started reading the book. Each sutra is full of wisdom and depth. I hope I learn a lot from this book and become a better person, better mind, and ultimately find myself.

Profoundly Informative
One of the best, deepest, most interesting and perhaps life changing books I have ever read. It's the kind of book you will want to read many times throughout your life. I cannot speak to the exact translations as I do not know Sanskrit (the authour does though so I am confident they are accurate), but the analogies and stories used to help illustrate the Sutras were extremely helpful, relatable and encouraging. For me the Sutras themselves were quite overwhelming when I started to read them, so to compensate I got through the book slowly and at a pace that would allow me to assimilate the information in less of a mind blowing way. Knowing that I would not learn everything on one read through also allows for easier reading. If you have any interest in Yoga then a book on the Sutras should perhaps be on your reading list.

Perfect for an intro to Yoga history
Lovely book as an introduction to Yoga Theory and history. Must read if you are embarking on deeper Yoga studies. I have read it several times and return to it often. The author relates and gives examples to apply and suit the modern day, without losing the essence of the sutra. The sutras are written in sanskrit, then in phonetic english. Then the explanation. An easy to read book and opens your eyes. Lots of common sense and is great to read as a reminder that we can use yoga everyday and incorporate into our lives.

Helpful insights
This is a very informative and great edition for the layman. Its not too technical and you can understand all the content. Applying it on the other hand is the hard part. This is a book to read and re read for many years to come, so much good advice cant be digested all at once.

Inspiring
This book is a joy to read. I have only been practicing Yoga for a few months; I can see why people say it is an important text to read. Very complex ideas are explained clearly and this explanation I feel helps one make sense of one's own journey. There are certain spiritual concepts I have always been curious about. After reading this text I feel I have a greater idea of what they mean. I feel so fortunate to have come to Yoga practice at this time in my life and to have discovered this book. A great text to keep around, especially during testing times in life.

This is the book needed for people who struggle, search, educate, take care of, themselves. Every essence is in it, so don’t worry about small things and go over the nature;)!!! Be the excellent actor and seer.

As the introduction says, this book is meant to be read several times. Every time I do that, i go back and re-read a passage, i grasp it a little bit better. I have had the opportunity to put into practice what this book has taught me so far, and I have found incredible what I have been able to do with my mind in just three months. I ll continue to keep it close to me and read it often.
