The first enjoyable walk in two years.
This is the first review I've ever written, because I feel I must add my voice to the throng of people saying how fantastic this product is. We have two mad border collies, one of whom pulls until she's sick, and whilst the other won't pull if he's on his own, he's sufficiently opportunistic to join in when they're together. Having tried Halti headcollars, harnesses, martingale collars, and various stopping/treating/heeling techniques all to zero avail, we have felt fairly desperate about the prospect of never having an enjoyable walk, until we discovered this product. It stopped the pulling instantaneously. I walked to the park in a state of euphoria—I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry, and I'm sure I got some funny looks for staring the whole time at my slack-leaded dogs with open amazement. It is incredibly simple to use, soft to the touch so their noses aren't rubbed, but sturdy enough that I'm hoping we'll get a lot of use out of it, and I find it easier to put on and off even than a clip lead. The cynic in me wants to point out that this is literally just a slightly longer slip-lead (especially, as other people have mentioned, as the extra clip is so tiny as to be unusable) such as you might have in the cupboard already (and so is less of a product and more of a technique(!)) but it works so well that I don't mind giving the seller my money whatsoever. Naturally, the dogs aren't a big fan of having it put on, but we've found that they get used to it pretty quickly, especially if we speed up at the start of the walk to distract them from wanting to pull it off! We only bought one, and have simply applied the figure-of-eight technique to another soft slip-lead that we already owned. Previously our walks consisted of being dragged to the park, intensive session of fetch to wear them out, then being dragged home again. Now I'd feel confident walking them both around town, which I thought would never be an option for us. Thrilled. I really can't recommend this enough.

Complete transformation in the first walk
I bought this yesterday for my 10 month old golden retriever who pulls like mad. Here's my account of the first day.I consider myself quite capable at dog training but, whilst he excels in all other areas, I just can't control his excitement on a walk. He pulls constantly despite stopping and taking a few steps back when he reaches the end of the lead. Food helps for a bit as do toys but it's all short term and he's straight back to the end of the lead within no time. When he sees another dog he's absolutely crazy, choking himself to try and get closer. When I walk him on a short lead for greater control he's just leaning into it permanently. I feel like I've tried everything and it's been quite upsetting as walks have become a stressful chore and on occasion I've had second thoughts about dog ownership (I know it's terrible that I'd think that but it's the truth). I've been really worried that my wife who's 6 months pregnant might get pulled over and injured so she can't walk him any more. After a 5:30am walk yesterday with no distractions but still no progress I was at my wits end and decided to try one of these based on the advice of our local puppy trainer. It arrived within a day and I was desperate to try it out.Firstly,it was very easy to put on. I've seen some reviews on here saying it's confusing but it's not at all. Really simple figure of 8 then tighten the rubber bit up behind his head.To start with I tried it on him in the house and he absolutely hated it & made a big point about rolling around on the floor, trying to pull it off his face (which he achieved a few times but I hadn't fitted it that tight) and generally being a big grump. When he stopped acting out I would ply him with food which helped and I eventually got some disjointed walking around the kitchen. After that I took it off and gave him a rest for a bit.About an hour later I decided to test it out on a walk. Again, he was pawing at his face a lot, lying down at every opportunity to roll about and now and then just stopping to be in a mood. HOWEVER - he wasn't pulling like normal. Even when a dog off the lead was in his face he just lay down upset about being so hard done by.We made it to the field and I let him off for a run around and some fetch then he was back on the lead. He was still a bit upset about it but was beginning to ignore it and just focus on the walk. I was still using all the usual tactics of stopping and taking some paces back if he reached the end so as not to reward him by going forwards on a tight lead.Straight away this was an improvement over yesterday. Whilst he would still get to the end of the lead now and then he clearly didn't like it and would come back to heel. By the end of around 30 mins more walking he was incredibly well behaved to the point that I let my wife take him. Even with dogs and children near by and being walked by someone he's not so used to the worst he did was stood still at the end of the lead a bit to watch other dogs. No pulling forwards. He was very compliant and seemed to learn from the training processes we were going through rather than them having no effect like our usual walks. In short, this has been transformational in just one walk. I'm honestly so pleased with it, hence taking the time to write this review. If I had one gripe it would be that there's a little bit of thread pulled on the lead by his nose where perhaps he's rubbed it with his claw or on something sharp whilst trying to get it off. I'll need to keep an eye on the durability over time but I don't think he'll try and push it off any more. The next step is to put him on it at puppy training class tomorrow night where he was a million and one distractions but I'm quietly confident that he will set a shining example for the other dogs.If the above story is close to home for you then don't hesitate in buying this, get one now. Make sure to use it as a tool to supplement consistent and humane training techniques with lots of encouragement for your dog and you won't be disappointed. 5 stars all day long.

Excellent so far
Works like a miracle. We tried Harnesses and our cockerpoo pulled like mad. A regular Collar and our dog would end up coughing and choking himself pulling. He ran when he saw his harness and started hating the lead. All the pulling must hurt as he had a very prominent breastbone. With collar only we were worried about damaging his neck or windpipe he pulled so much.He was a nightmare to walk constantly pulling or choking. We tried every harness and anti-pull lead going. We were embarrassed to consider a halti and this figure 8 lead as he's small and looks innocent. But after trying it we won't go back. the first time he wanted it off but when its put on at home he walks like a dream. A pleasure to walk now. So it must be a more enjoyable walk for him - so much so he gets longer walks. He still runs a little from the lead but is getting better and as soon as its on its like having a well behaved dog. trots along just in front but as other reviewers said easy to tug gently. We don't even need to tug we just say something and he slows down. From pulling your arm off to and having to wrap a lead round the wrist a few times to gently holding the lead loosely in a couple of walks.is an amazing change. I recommend this - my friend was the one that told me about it after getting one for her dog.Its a good length too - we tried a halti but as our dog is so small it was a very short leash. This is longer and allows him to walk just in front so he can sniff his way along and sniff in bushes. The trigger clip was all but useless as it flung off the 2nd time he wore it clipped to his collar as we took him down the beach and he bolted as we were taking it off and before we undid the clip.We find when we go to the beach he pulls more because he loves the beach and loves being off-lead - so he knows when he's about to go off lead and gets excited and can't get off sniffing and playing quick enough. The only time he desperately wanted off with the lead and was rubbing and crying to get it off was the 2nd time and we went to Pets at Home - he really did NOT like it on but all the other times for his regular walk around the village he's perfect. He knows when to walk well on the lead and when to go off lead and play now.The only downside was yes it is a slip knot lead - and you can probably get them cheaper - we actually had one from puppy training class that we didn't use but didn't realise you can loop it over the nose that is almost identical and probably was half the price.

Brilliant
We have owned this lead for around 5 months now and it has been one of the best purchases I’ve made. My boxer dog is very strong and was in the habit of pulling on walks which were becoming unenjoyable.I was initially a little hesitant due to boxers being brachycephalic and was unsure of the fit around the nose. But following a recommendation from a friend and after reading reviews on Amazon I went ahead and purchased the lead to try and I wasn’t disappointed. We have used this lead on almost all walks and the difference is huge. It’s like walking a completely different dog. Walks are so much more pleasurable, no more aching arms and no more lunging. My dog wasn’t a fan of the lead to start with and for the first few weeks spent most of the walk at the beginning trying to get it off. However, this quickly became less and less each time. Now he only occasionally paws at it, which is usually after he’s pulled slightly and made it tight around his nose, which I loosen a little and he seems happy again. The lead is a good length and is easy to put on and take off. The only minor criticism I would highlight is the very small clasp that’s used to connect the lead to the collar. I have not managed to use this as it is too small to connect to the chunky collar, however I still would not trust this as the reserve mechanism for a dog of this size. I have therefore used a stronger carabiner clip to secure to the collar which works well.Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and would have no hesitation purchasing this lead again in the future. Happy owner and happy dog 🐾

Needs improvement
Lead is soft and a good length, neoprene sleeve to protect muzzle a bonus. My gripe is the stopper, it does not offer enough resistance and moves too freely, increasing the chance of the dog shaking the lead off and breaking free. While there is a collar attachment to help prevent this, not ideal. Will use but would not buy again

Best walkies on lead ever!
I have two labs, the youngest being one year old . It’s never ever been an enjoyable experience walking her on a lead it’s just been very hard work and tiring . I have never known a dog to pull so much to the point your exhausted and it’s not ever been an enjoyable walk with her on lead ever it must hurt her throat and doesnt stop till home and she can start jumping about trying to slip her collar all the time . So for a long time we mainly stick to walking her off lead in fields as just easier and far less stressful which means taking the car daily to get to these places. I received this new halti today and it’s a game changer. We took her a walk round streets where we live and it was so lovely . It’s comfortable on her face she couldn’t pull she had a bit of length to walk and easy to pull her back in and it was just so relaxing . In fact she walked quite soon with the lead slack . I couldn't see an end to this issue on a normal lead or harness before but this has really made things so so much better. It’s like waking a different dog and so enjoyable and calm . So if you’re thinking on one please give it a try it’s the best thing I’ve bought in ages and feel so much happier that walkies can be a really nice time and can take her to more public places without the constant stress and not just off lead areas .

Wow what a difference!
Wow, our first walk in ages when I didn't feel like my arms were being pulled out of its sockets! Very happy with it, we used halti but my dog worked out how to position his head so he'd still pull like a sleigh dog. With this lead though we had a pleasant walk, still able to pull but not as much as he did previously, definitely didn't feel like I was being dragged around! Lead is very lightweight and soft so nice to hold. The only reason why I took star off are 1. It's really dug into his face, we only went out for 20 min and it left a mark which has never been the case with halti 2. The clasp is too small to close on his collar (which is only medium size) 3. This is to be checked more as we go out on walks but the lead feels a bit thin so if you have a lead reactive dog like mine that is on the bigger size (30kg+) I'm a bit worried it might snap if he gets into his frenzy mode when seeing another dog, we'll definitely be having a back up lead attached to his collar for this reason.Other than this 3 points I'm very pleased with it, definitely something that will work for smaller pullers.

Amazing results
Why didn't I buy this sooner?!! This is a game changer. Our 5 month old McNab/Border Collie is quite skittish so pulls VERY hard normally when walking. With arthritis in my hands, it is very difficult for me to walk her, plus the leash I was using would give me "leash burns" on my hands from her bolting and pulling. This leash is very easy to put on her, feels nice to hold and has a bungy-like effect, so if she does try to bolt, it doesn't feel like my arm will be dislocated. However, she doesn't pull AT ALL with this leash. As long as I keep the neck loop cinched high behind her ears, she is extremely responsive and stays right next to me. She has tried to pull a couple times, but quickly realizes how this tightens around her nose and behind ears and immediately stops.I have already recommended this leash to a co-worker who has a dog who also pulls. My dog also normally bites at the leash so I would have to put a muzzle on her most times when walking, but with this leash, she doesn't try any of that behavior.I also like the fact that since it doesn't have a specific nose loop (like a head halter), I have the option to simply use it as a slip leash around her neck for a quick outing to go potty, or from the house to the car, etc.

Mycket nöjd med detta retriverkoppel. Viktigt att lära sig hur det skall användas rätt. Kolla Cesar Millan som ofta visar vart och hur man använder det.

And end to the pulling, finally!
My dog doesn’t like it (too bad), but it works! She can’t pull me for once. It’s surprisingly easy to put on, but it’s a leash, so although my dog was extremely excited, I could still put it on easily the very first time. The material has just enough give, and feels like high quality. I’m very happy with the purchase. All that said, I’ve never used this style of lead before, and once it arrived, I realized it was a fairly typical slip lead with an extra safety clip added. It does have some stretch/give to it, and somehow almost feels slightly padded, and those traits may be specific to this product.
