Excellent piece of kit
I had a few reservations about this product given that there had been a few negative comments regarding the app used to connect mobile phones. However having used the phone for a month now and connecting a Samsung Note 3 and two Iphone 6s mobiles I am satisfied that it does everything I wanted it to. First off it looks great and unobtrusive sat on a table top. I no longer have to have more than one home phone plugged in, lost or out of charge. Everyone in our family keeps their mobile close to hand 95% of the time these days, so it makes perfect sense to utilise them as part of the landline system. Set up with our wi fi was quick and painless, as was connecting the mobiles to the base unit. The app does draw some power from your mobile as others have mentioned. But having monitored this on my Note 3 I would say that it is nothing to worry about, perfectly acceptable. When out and about the app shows you are disconnected from the base unit, and on returning home it automatically reconnects with no fuss. The only issue users may come across is that when answering a landline call via their mobile it might take time to acess the app because of their security pin, if activated, on the mobile, then finding and opening the app to answer. In my experience I just have to get past the pin and press the app which is in my notification bar. Simple. Other than that, the 40 ringtones are a bit naff. In fact some are too quiet even on the loudest setting to be heard at a reasonable distance. Mind you the christmas tunes were okay over the festive period, but overall Panasonic could have done better. All in all though its five stars from me. The phone does what Panasonic promised it would do. One happy camper!

Some very useful functions, and not bad looking.
Iโve seen a lot of comments online knocking this phone, but I went ahead and gave it the benefit of the doubt (June 2017), figured I could return it if I had a problem, but overall Iโm glad I got it. I also bought an extra handset, and Iโm happy with that too. The phone looks good. Iโm not convinced it looks ยฃ90 good, especially as a single handset price, but Iโd say itโs a nice looking phone with a nice feel to it. The base unit looks ok on the side, might have benefitted from an answerphone call indicator, but it looks ok and the handset fits nicely on it. Itโs quite a satisfying feel as it locates onto the charging contacts. The speaker bump at the top of the handset doesnโt put me off, in fact, for me, it gave the phone a nicer feel in the hand, but I can see where some may not like it. The buttons are flat with the phone, and not exactly tactile, probably the thing I liked least. The handset does have a nice clear colour display. Setup is pretty strait forward, easy enough to connect and get the phone line working, and I had no problems connecting to my WiFi. I havenโt seen any network drop out issues that some sites have reported. The sound quality from the handset is top notch. Very clear when used in hand, but also speaker use gives excellent clarity, and I havenโt had complaints from callers not being able to hear me. We have the app installed on 3 iPhones. Installation is easy and the app associates to the base unit with no problem. The app is easy to use, transferring numbers from your mobile phonebook to the base is really easy and a fantastic feature, makes setting up the phonebook a really quick task. Itโs supposed to send pictures too I think, but I havenโt managed that yet. Once you have the phonebook set up, optionally, the matched name is read out with the incoming call ring. I liked that, but not everyone does. On our mobiles the app stays connected too, Iโve had no drop out that others have reported. In fact, Iโve discovered that I can use my home phone from the office at work. I have a site to site VPN set up between my home and office, and the app connects to the phone via the VPN connection, allowing me to make and answer calls. Unfortunately itโs not clever enough to detect the phone via my mobile/home (roadwarrior) VPN connection, it only works over a WiFi connected VPN, not over the mobile data network, otherwise Iโd have a fully mobile landline number. The down side to the app is that it really increases battery drain. Whilst it doesnโt seem able to connect to the phone over a mobile data network, it does seem to keep polling for the base unit. I probably need to play with the setting a bit more to tame this, but there should be a simpler way to manage which connected networks the app will search for the base unit over. I have had notifications come up on the phone (off WiFi) saying that Smartphone Connect canโt connect to the base unit. According to the data on my iPhone, 27% of the battery usage in the past 24 hours is from this app, and my phone will run out of juice before the end of the day. Before installing Smartphone Connect I was using about 50% of the battery in a normal day. One other thing I didnโt like about the app, when youโre on a regular mobile call, the screen stays open, the display will blank because of the proximity sensor, but the phone doesnโt lock, but when on a landline call using the app the phone locks. Thatโs a pain when it comes to disconnect the call. But to add another plus point, at least for the iPhone version, it does integrate very nicely with the Apple watch.

Classic cordless - looks good and works well
What a great cordless phone. Lots of easy to use features, it can even link to your mobile. I have had one of these for years, it's bombproof, always works. One small downside the app is not so good, drops out and clunky to use. I have just added another phone and it was easy to add it and set-up. All the saved numbers immediately accessible on the new phone.

Great Phone, Poor App.
This item really has 2 parts to it: 1. The sleek, sexy phone and base - works very well, looks amazing, sound is clear, features are plentiful, speakerphone is outstanding - overll 5 stars - brilliant. 2. The App to use the phone on Android/IOS. When installed and connected it is great! I use it daily, i use a bluetooth headset with my android phone and with this app i can use my landline for calls and still make use of the headset. I dont need phones in every room. I take my mobile with me which means my landline is also with me. Sound is clear and it works well. The reason for 3 stars? Part 2, the phone app is a big problem! aside from the fact it draws a lot of power, it disconnects randomly, several times a day. I can pick up my mobile and sometimes it is connected and sometimes it is not. When it is not connected, you need to close the app and re-open it or go through the settings and re-register with the base. This means that if you do not check it and reconnect when it has dropped, you could miss calls. I have spoken with Panasonic support about this and discussed on forums - lots of people have the issue - Panasonic acknowledged the app "needs work". It seems to work better on iPhone than android but eventually both will disconnect. Such a pain but as the feature is so useful and the phone so damn good on it's own, i am pushing through difficulties and getting used to checking my phone and reconnecting throughout the day. It is of course up to you if this puts you off it or not, I would find it hard to recommend until they fix the app but the phone on it's own is amazing and if you can put up with the app reloads - you will get on with it.

One of the best cordless home phone setups I've found
A brilliant idea which works well, basically link this product to your home wi-fi network and make/take calls on you mobile phone, from anywhere within wi-fi range. You always have your mobile on you! It removes the need for multiple DECT handsets, this alone will improve your wi-fi coverage as DECT handsets are well known for causing wi-fi coverage blackspot/interference. One point to note, you must have the Panasonic app installed on your phone, Android or Apple IOS, and it must be running on your phone in order to receive/make calls. The unit has a really good feel to it and build quality is what you expect from Panasonic. You can also use the Panasonic handset as a speaker phone due to the placement of the speaker by placing handset face up on a surface, which a handy feature especially when dealing with those annoying automated answering system retailers use where you have to navigate through 10 layers of options!!.

Good phone with nice features and capabilities but ...
Unfortunately not as refined as they should be. Problem mainly with quality of calls made and received (noise and echo in line) when connected to wifi that still havent managed to fix.

Good looking, small footprint, useful features
I really liked how small and neat this 'phone is and all its features. I like that it announces callers that are in its phone book. I only have a problem with the keypad, in that because it is so smooth I sometimes mis-dial. The sound quality is good, but it would be helpful to be able to put the volume higher, for instance when there is a lot of background noise. Overall the nicest looking 'phone, with the smallest footprint.

This phone looks and feels beautiful. The display is crystal clear
This phone looks and feels beautiful. The display is crystal clear. The list of functions is great. Sadly that's as far as it goes. Sound quality is poor. I found that it lost connection from the base unit to the wifi rather too often until I gave it a fixed IP address and that seemed to cure it. The smartphone app uses far too much power and loses connection far too often. If you go out of range and then come back it is most likely that you will have to exit the app and restart it to get the connection back. Using the menus on the phone itself is like stepping back into the dark ages - I really can't understand why this kind of thing is being offered in the 21st century - haven't Panasonic thought of looking at a mobile and pinching the ideas from that? I would have returned it if I could have found something else to buy.
