Buy the separate anchors if you don't have a convenient stud, they work great in showers ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice Heavy, Sturdy Bar *by S***O on June 23, 2020* Added this bar and its 12" companion to the guest bathroom tub/shower when we needed to use that facility for a couple of weeks. While I did not install it myself, the contractor (doing other work in the house) who did it used my impact driver to do so. He used his tile bit but they are readily available at the "big box" stores. So, could have done it myself but got lazy. Pretty straightforward installation. Find the studs (hardest part), pilot the holes through cultured marble and sheet rock, and drive the screws (nice and long and heavy duty) in. I will say when I was trying to decide what what length to get for 16" OC studs, I said a few things under my breath about there not being (that I found in this styles) a 16" bar for level installation. However, installed at an angle (low end at the back of the tub and high end at the faucet/shower head end) spanning 2 studs.
