Lyons No4 Coffee Bags - Bulk Buy (150)

These coffee bags are just as I like them. Smooth tasting and easy to brew, in a cup/mug or in the pot. No faff, no mess and easy to adjust the strength by adding more bags if necessary. They will definitely stay on my ‘buy again’ list.

Absolutely lovely coffee , kept fresh in their foil wrapped pouches , I have been drinking now for over three years .

Great coffee

I have been using the Lyons bags for a few years now and never tire of the taste. I don't like strong coffee and these suit me. The bags are convenient and I often carry a couple in my bag for those just in case moments! The only down side is that on the odd occassion I have had one or two spilt bags when I come to open them.

These are extremely nice and very smooth to the taste and an exceptional substitute for the real thing. I have brought other strengths from same brand and they were great. Unfortunately I have to give three stars for this purchase as at least every 1 in 10 at least is not manufactured correctly as the bag inside has not been fully sealed. I can confirm 100% not due to how opened and it is the manufacturer process. I am hoping it is just this batch. Will update when I purchase next batch and open them.

I dont think a morning would be the same without these coffee bags - really good and enjoyable taste - easy to use - brew to taste whether you need that extra kick to get you going and as in individual bags you can take them wherever you go!

Real Coffee in bags that actually tastes like the coffee you get in coffee shops, with one cavaet. This is strong coffee that tastes sweet, not bitter. My biggest problem in the past was if you wanted your coffee to be strong, it evitably ended up tasting bitter with an aftertaste that was offputting. Lyon's number 4 coffee bags dont have this problem. You can brew them(as you would a tea bag) for as long as you want and they retain the same sweet coffee taste. Highly recommended, especially if you're done with filter papers and messing about with coffee grounds in your percolator!

These large diameter (9cm) round bags are classed as an after dinner/evening coffee and are strength 4 (out of 5). You brew them just like you would tea bags, and although the instructions on the bag say to boil the water, I never boil ground coffee because the quality of the flavour is reduced. You can boil though if you want, but don't overboil, and leave the water to stand until the bubbles have subsided. The recommended temp for brewing ground coffee is between 195-205 °F (the boiling point of water is 212 °F). Be very careful when opening the sealed easy open outer foil parcel otherwise you will tear the coffee bag, as the bag very nearly fills the inner space. This coffee is a very strong and full flavoured typical Italian Arabica and Robusta blend so if you prefer your coffee milder buy the Lyons Coffee Break bags instead. Note that this is a very expensive way to make ground coffee, although time saving, and both Lyons Gourmet Italian and Coffee Break ground coffees can be bought loose for as little as £1 for a 100g bag (B&M/Home Bargains) which will make about 10-12 mugs if brewed in a cafetière. If you like strong coffee you won't be disappointed with this Italian blend and your preparation area will soon fill with that opulent ground coffeee aroma.
