Revell 05132 Flower Class Corvette HMCS Snowberry 1:144 Scale Unbuilt/Unpainted Plastic Model Kit

A very detailed kit, great instruction booklet. Very Good parts fit. Not a difficult kit to build for an experienced modeller, but would not recommend it to a beginner, or to someone with poor eye sight, as there are some very small parts. Only one small niggle, why do Revell use this type of box with opening ends? I don't like that at all. I would highly recommend this kit, it builds into a great looking model, straight from the box

Good kit have not built this yet still working on USS Kidd but this is next in line

Good kit scale leaves a bit to be desired prefer the 1/72 scale version

Great model every part marked well easy instruction to follow, but ther are a lots of parts, but that makes it more interesting to do really enjoy this definitely recommend.

Very, very difficult. Over 500 pieces; some incredibly tiny. Really good tweezers an essential and even then very very fiddly. You need to be an experienced modeller to attempt this ship. I was glad I had attempted it even though at times I was on the verge of giving up. If you have skill, perseverance and patience the finished ship is very impressive but not for the faint hearted!

I bought the kit as I know very little about this type of ship and as a keen modeller wanted to learn more about this subject. The kit contains a potted history of the type and its exploits during the second world war. It seems the parts have been scaled down from Revells 1/72nd scale kit. I will be enhancing the kit with the Pontos brand detail set available elxewhere.

Really liked the detail and scale of this model. It was close to a 6 month project and it turned out great. Many compliments.

Tutto comincia negli anni ' 70 quando la casa inglese Matchbox decide di sviluppare e portare in commercio un kit per l'epoca eccezionale : una corvetta classe " Flower " in scala 1/72 ! Già la scelta della scala di dimostra coraggiosa : un bestione di oltre 80 centimetri per più di un chilo di peso . Il periodo però era quello che era , tecniche di stampaggio e produzione che non riuscirono a valorizzare altremodo un modello imponente e diventato un classico nel modellismo statico moderno . Io ne ho realizzate più di 4 versioni , sempre su commissione , e sempre con ottimi risultati . Riproposto più volte da Revell , nel frattempo divenuta proprietaria del marchio e degli stampi della defunta casa britannica , il modello originale mostrava però ormai il fiato corto . Le moderne realizzazioni di matrice orientale dominano il campo ed ecco che Revell imbrocca l'idea buona : ridurre alla metà la scala ( 1/144 , con possibilità quindi da parte del modellista di gestore spazi e possibilità ... e realizzare nuovi stampi , più precisi ed accurati . Infatti se la base di riproduzione è la stessa , pantografata al 50% , alcuni particolari sono decisamente migliorati ed il downsizing gli ha fatto solo bene .. Si è perso infatti l'aspetto " giocattoloso " del modello in 1/72 che era difficile per i non esperti da mascherare e si può realizzare un ottima nave . Possibilità di personalizzazione a iosa , essendoci enorme disponibilità di documentazione storica , disegni e foto a rigurado . Buon lavoro quindi , accludo alcune foto di uno dei modelli in 1/72 da me realizzati per far vedere ai meno esperti uno dei risultati possibili..
