They have a slight curve to them. I have a lot of thick curly hair and they hold my hair great and they don’t look oversized in my hair. **Q: What colors are they? Sometimes things look black online and then it is really brown.** A: Brass color and dark brown. Kind of a copper brown. **Q: Do these cause breakage when you use them for a ponytail?** A: I have not had any problems with breakage.
