Nikon Aculon A211 7 x 35 Binocular - Black

I wanted a pair of 7x50s as this size is a good all rounder, good for daylight use and because of the size of the exit pupil these are very good for Astronomy. I tend to find 10x50s a bit clunky to carry around, 8x40s are nice for bird watching but the 50mm lens are better for low light levels. They are a little bit heaver then a pair of 8x40s but not by much, they are lighter then my old 7x50s so I will be able to hold them up for a while without tiring. At £70(£199 rec. price) these are excellent value, the optics as you would expect being Nikon are first class. The focusing and dioptre rings were a bit stiff after being in storage but soon became loosened up after being wind up and down a few times. I liked the eyepiece cups a lot, they don't simple unfold but wind in and out, with two or three positions instead of one. The strap was a bit fiddly to fit but after a while I got it right, I like the fact that the eyepiece cap can unhooked from one end, thus it hangs down out of your way. Also the main lens caps can be hooked on to the strap, therefore it's less likely to lose them. They come with a nice soft storage case but this has no strap, however there is a square of material sown top and bottom at the back which would allow some sort of cord to be threaded through then knotted together to form a strap. However this is only a minor detail. All in all these are a very good all round pair of binoculars which should give good service for years to come.

These binoculars are fantastic and a joy to use. The image quality is better than my other binoculars which cost twice as much. There is a bit of distortion visible at the far outer edges but this is normal with all binoculars. The centre of the view is crystal clear though, and the field of view is nice and wide. As others have said the objective lens caps are a little flimsy and are prone to fall out if you're not careful. Strap is good quality and carry case is fine for the price. The eye relief is quite short, so if you need to keep spectacles on, you would struggle to get a full field of view. Overall the build quality is great for the price, and they feel reassuringly solid to hold. Out of all my binoculars, I find these the most fun to use. Recommended 100%

Quality imaging for a wide range of uses; bird spotting particularly good. Only niggle is about the method of attaching the lens covers to the 'neck band' when the Binoculars are in use; the large covers drop off too easily. Have had the binoculars for 6 weeks and carry them with me wherever I travel. Have had a good quality pair for 40 years and just amazed at the increased quality of the Nikon 10x50 User would benefit from using a tripod in certain circumstances. I would recommend to both the professional or pleasure user.

I use these for night sky viewing. The quality is as you'd expect from Nikon (high). Easy to focus and adjust. Good quality carrying case makes them easier to travel with. It's a hard choice whether to go for the 8 or 10 times zoom and I'd probably recommend going for the 8x40's for first time night sky watchers as you will notice less hand shake and they are lighter. These 10x50's are still really enjoyable but rather tiring on the arms. For those that haven't tried night sky watching through bino's then you'll be amazed at the amount of satellites going over you. Easy spot a dozen every minute and I'm in a high light pollution area.

This 7x50 binoculars i bought for stargazing and i gotta say they do the job perfectly. The 7x zoom is perfect to be able to easily handhold without your handshaking being annoying. Wide field of view allows easy navigation along constellations. So far was able to see andromeda galaxy from light polluted london, but ofcourse is just a small smudge but still impressive for binoculars. The moon looks amazing, can see craters clearly and using both eyes gives it a realistic 3d shape, as if its right in front of you. Could also easily see jupiters moons as well. The picture quality in day time is superb, and the focusing mechanism works greats Was able to even take a moon picture with my iphone7 through the binos, but its nothing compare to what you see with your eyes

Really good and clear image, you can see details of flying planes, clear view of birds and see so many stars you can't see without. The moon also looks so big and clear. The only downside is that it's probably on the edge of max zoom possible for hands only use - it would be nice to have stabilization of some sort, but hey.. Oh yeah and the covers are very flimsy.

I have been looking for a compact binocular, and most of the models I had considered were of the roof prism type. However, I kept getting drawn to this model, and was intrigued by the slightly lower than normal magnification, and the wide field of view. First impressions were good, it feels solid and well made. The focus wheel is smooth, and has no obvious play. It did make some noises though, the grease in the mechanism kind of clicked and popped as the mechanism was turned. This diminished with use, and I would imagine/hope it would disappear completely with more use. First impressions of the optics were good too. The image is lovely and wide, bright, and sharp, and better than I was expecting considering the price point. I was a bit concerned that 7x magnification would be a bit too low, but for general, all round use, it, I found it fine. The optics aren’t perfect, the nice sharpness is only really in the centre of the image. The outer part of the field of view is not so sharp. I tend to concentrate on the subject in the middle of the view, so this isn’t an issue for me. Also, I did notice some chromatic aberration, but only really towards the very edge of the view. Despite not being quite as compact as would have liked, I really wanted to keep these. However, there was an issue: they were out of alignment. I don’t know if they left the factory like this, or they got knocked out of alignment afterwards, but considering how these were packaged by Amazon, I am inclined to think it probably happened in transit.. The Nikon box clearly shows that it contains a delicate optical instrument, yet Amazon saw fit to ship this in nothing more than a paper bag. Not an Amazon box with plenty of cushioning packing material, but a PAPER BAG! Sort it out Amazon!

At this price.......brilliant quality bins. Yes, the more you spend, in theory everything improves. But these are solidly made, relatively light with a rubberized feeling coating. There are detents on the underside for your thumbs maintaining a good grip whilst focusing and also a tripod adapter mount fixing just in front of the focus ring. Very bright image and stable at 7 x 50 magnification at full zoom. Very clear too, diopter adjustment extendable eye cups on mean I can abandon my eye glasses and use without. Decent enough strap and lens covers. Padded carry case is great and includes a 'loop' so you can attach it to your trouser belt. A brilliant tool at this price, you won't be disappointed

Possiedo un binocolo Swarovski 7x40 acquistato molti anni fa a un prezzo elevato, all'epoca. Devo dire che, senza entrare troppo nei dettagli tecnici, il Nikon Aculon A211 mantiene le promesse: ottimo campo visivo e visione chiara anche negli ingrandimenti. Fa vedere molti più dettagli del vecchio binocolo che possiedo. Il prodotto ha un buon rapporto qualità-prezzo. Il materiale esterno di cui è fatto al momento sembra essere di buona qualità poi si vedrà col tempo. Il binocolo è un po' pesante ma questo è un dettaglio che, a mio giudizio, non compromette la qualità del prodotto.
