I thought I snapped the blade first go
The blade came loose on first use. To put it back tighten one end and the bend the arms of the saw in towards each other. Then tighten the other end. They need to be more than finger tight. Bending the arms in gives the blade some necessary tension.

Perfect for intricate Dove Tails
Nice saw, perfect for very intricate work. I used this for part of the process of hand cutting dove tail joints. Comfortable to hold and worked perfectly. Good price for what you get too.

Excellent Fret saw
My old fret saw was ancient and missing the clamp screws so I wanted a replacement saw. After reading some of the reviews for this Eclipse saw, I was in two minds whether to buy it or not, but decided to trust the brand. I am SO glad I did; what a little gem! I really put the blade through its paces with the job in hand. Abuse is nearer the truth! Two large letters cut out in 18mm thick pine - not just 5mm ply!!! I also bought a pack of spare blades fully expecting to break a few BUT . . . the blade the saw was fitted with cut both letters and there is still plenty of life in it yet. Needless to say, I am delighted and cannot understand how some of the other users had so many problems! I believe the answer lies in the technique for using a fret saw: use a proper, firmly clamped and flat fret table for the work (easy to make), use the saw with the blade vertical with the handle underneath the work, get comfortably seated and anchor your elbow in your stomach, then use your forearm and elbow only to give the saw a steady up and down motion, turning the work to follow the line of cut. And don't force it - let the blade do the work! Obviously, the thinner the material, the easier the cut, but with care, much thicker materials can be fretted. The saw frame will take any length blade (within reason) by springing the frame by hand. My only issue was that the blade clamp screws were incredibly tight, but they undid ok in. the end with a good firm grip. I would thoroughly recommend this saw.

A well balanced fretsaw
This is a well balanced fretsaw. Both top and bottom blade holders grip the blade firmly giving confidence to the user when performing fine work.

Mediocre saw, useless poor quality blade provided.
Saw itself was just about ok but blade didn't last 5 minutes, probably 2 - 3 (care used ...cutting plastic ply)

Value for money
Arrived not properly put together but fortunately my husband could put it back together but disappointing as it was a gift.

Poor quality
The handle came off on the first use, and the mounts to clamp the blade are flimsy. Had another one from Axminster that works significantly better for the same price.

Ho avuto necessità di tagliare del compensato per delle figure natalizie e l'attrezzo si è rivelato perfetto per l'utilizzo.

I was building a desk where I needed a few holes cut out of the top piece. I use primarily hand tools, so I knew a coping saw was the saw for the job, but the one I had just wasn't cutting it... literally! I was ready to give in and buy myself a router but then I thought "Surely there is a coping saw with a bigger belly?" and I stumbled across this one. It was the perfect tool for the job and I ended up finishing the desk that night after being so inspired by how well this one performed. It has a bit of a learning curve and it's a bit of a shame you can't rotate the blade but I think it's an amazing tool and a fine addition to my collection.
