Absolute bargain price canoe paddles that can be converted to child’s kayak paddle. Bought these for my 7 yr old niece who was keen to paddle with us in our 3 person kayak, but we didn’t want to spend £30+ on more serious kids’ paddles. I trawled the internet for a reasonable quality kids paddle for occasional use but couldn’t find anything. So I took a chance on these, having shafts coming in 2 parts, being able to be converted. And I was right. If you just use one part of each shaft and screw them together with a paddle at each end, you can assemble them as a small double ended kayak paddle, approx 120cm in length. The quality is decent enough and is perfect size for a small child, maybe up to 8/9 years old. We’ve only taken her kayaking on the canal but they got a fair bit of bashing around and cane out unscathed. For leisure use, these are excellent value for money and even come in their own carry case.

The oars are sturdy an the price was very reasonable. They come apart for easy storage when not in us. These are great for the kids to use when out in their dingy.

Paddles were smaller than anticipated, obviously I should have checked the measurements. These were a bit small for the 4 man dinghy that I purchased them for. Could have done with being a bit broader and about 6 inches longer. Next time I shouldn't buy them from a "toy store". What did you expect?, I hear you ask.

I gave these 5 stars because for the ridiculous low amount of money they cost they exceeded expectations. I just needed some paddles for my 10ft Livingston to row out and check my crab pods and work fine for that. They look like paddles you would use on a kids inflatable but the shafts are strong, the actual paddle part is made of flexible plastic and do flex a bit but for normal paddling they work fine. One thing to note is they are a little short, work fine for my boat but probably wouldn’t work for a larger row boat.
