Redex RADD2201A Diesel fuel System Cleaner, 500 ml

Started using this a couple of years ago - I have a diesel car that is over 9 years old and has done 70,000 miles. There is a great debate online as to whether these additives actually make a difference. For me, it seems to. I typically only use supermarket fuel and as the engine is getting older, it seemed that I wasn't getting as good fuel consumption. For me it seems to help with the efficiency.

I first started using this on my Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo. The Redex upped my mpg to almost 60. I now have a VW Golf GTD 184 and I was unhappy with the mileage. I realise that this car has 184 BHP, but I was only getting mid 40mpg-maybe 47/8 on a run. Started using this a few months ago and my mpg has now gone up to almost 52mpg and the car feels a lot peppier (although the acceleration without Redex is still very quick!). I usually get around 400/430 miles from a full tank but recently I got over 480 miles on a tank. So yes this does work, it has improved my mpg and the engine feels better. The only downside I can think of is that I have had to go online to get any as I can't find it on the High Street. I used to get mine from Wilcos, but they've not had any for ages. I would recommend using Redex.

I have used Redex now for over 13 months and have 2 miles plus to the gallon extra so worth using. I am only generally urban driving so would probably improve if driving for further distances at a time. 100% recommend. Packaged well.

Excellent product and arrived in good time . Not sure if it is in the mind but the engine seems to running better than before delivering more power and better mileage. It certainly isn't blowing black smoke under load as it was before using redex. I now use this with premium diesel which will hopefully further improve performance....time will tell.

My brothers mercedes c220d which is approximately 8 years old was returning 32mpg in Central london and 41mpg on dual carriageways and motorways. Based on my excellent experience with redex for petrol, i decided to buy this for him along with STP diesel fuel injector cleaner. I used the redex first. I didn't follow instructions, i followed my own knowledge, poured half the bottle in when he had a quarter tank and kept it on D3 (its an automatic transmission) and blasted it on the motorway for 15 mins to give it a boost clean. Then poured the rest in and filled the tank. Admittedly the tank drained faster than usual, but it was expected due to the lubricant of redex. Then, a further tank later, he is now getting 43-46mpg in london!!! WOW! And 54mpg on the motorway and dual carriageways! This is an absolutely awesome product as redex always is.

Added this to my 2.0 TDI VW ... as prescribed - does it work? Well sort of .. Car does certainly feel perkier when I add this to a tank. Just feels more responsive but when it's diluted with fresh diesel that perkiness goes away. Maybe just an octane booster - I can't say if its cleaning the injectors. I give it 3 stars for the fun factor it gives when driving but I can't say that it is cleaning car engine's insides. Would I buy another bottle .. ? yeah, why not?
