I was recommended this by a friend who swore by it to get me through my emissions test for mot. The car it went in was a 1994 Toyota supra twin turbo. Last year's mot was just about a pass for emissions(very close to the limit) and where parts aren't readily available for my car (if parts are available they come with the added jdm supra tax!). I thought I'd give this a go. I had a little too much fuel in my tank but was a bit scared to use this with the less stated fuel to cataclean mix ratio considering the car is old and has a £6000 engine, which I was scared to cause damage to. Mixed it into a 3rd of a tank of superunleaded (+25 litres approx). Let the car idle for 10 minutes to get up to operating temperature. Then cruised at 50 to 70mph for about half hour. Feeling confident the mixture was safe for the engine I started driving in lower gears doing hard pulls in the car. I drove this pretty much close to empty didn't take long considering the type of engine it is. Then filled up with super unleaded. 1 week later it had its Mot and passed with flying colours! Well within the emission limits and actually surprisingly almost too low on the Co figures. I now swear by this product and will be using it throughout the year to keep the fuel and emission system as clean as possible. Car drives alot smoother, and pulls a bit quicker too. I did a 0-60 before and after to make a comparison and it was 0.45 seconds quicker after the cataclean.

My 90,000 mile petrol 3ltr car had passed its MOT, but advised the emissions were getting close to the limit. The car is one I only use lightly about 2-3000 miles a year & sits around in winter with very little use. It is however serviced every year regardless of the low mileage. I read about cataclean & thought it wouldn't harm to try it especially in view of the cost. Following the instructions & YouTube video I gave it a try. The results were remarkable. 300 miles after the treatment the tickover is smooth as silk, the fuel economy improved & a quick test at a local friendly garage showed a remarkable improvement with the emissions. I can only state it appears to have worked for me. The only consideration I have is the 2nd test was done after the car had been driven for 300+ miles so may have cleaned itself out anyway. The car is maintained regardless of cost so maybe I'll just add this treatment before it's next MOT next year & see how it performs. Overall if you have an emissions issue its worth a try, just don't expect a miracle if your vehicle requires maintenance.

My daily hack is a 2000 Volvo V70 T5 which I have owned for 17 years and which now has just slipped past 260k miles. The car has always been well maintained and has been a faithful servant for 20k per year commuting and dog-lugging for a number of years, largely without any real hitches. Over the last several weeks, however, the car has been stuttering markedly between 2000 and 3000 rpm and has been throwing up a CEL and OBD2 codes, indicating both rich and lean running, at random, every 100 miles or so. After cleaning the MAF sensor, checking for vacuum leaks and replacing the boost control valve, all of which are a likely culprit for the issues I've been experiencing, the problem persisted. Although the lambda sensor was replaced relatively recently (c. 30k miles ago) and the spark plugs are only around 12k miles old, I thought about replacing both items as a prelude to the dreaded, last resort, injector replacement and/or new ETM module. As a shot to nothing, I first threw in a bottle of a quality PEA-rich injector cleaner - which made no real difference - followed by a bottle of Cataclean into the last 15 litres of fuel in the tank. After a 100 mile commute, on a freshly reset CEL light, the problem appeared to be cured. The car pulled like it should, the hesitancy/pinking had gone, and after what now amounts to 500 miles of driving I haven't seen a recurrence of the CEL light or the pinking/stuttering on boost. It may only be a tub of acetone and xylene, but it evidently works very well for certain niggly issues relating to potentially gummed up components in the emissions and exhaust system. Worth a try if you've got an older car with a troubling, intractable, and potentially expensive issue.

I decided to use this because I was having problems with my engine management light coming on. I took my vehicle to the main dealer and they put it on the diagnostic computer, which showed the emissions were not right. They suggested it was probably a bad batch of fuel and told me it was fine to drive, once I refuelled I should have no more problems. I then paid the £35 for the diagnostic and went away happy the problem was not going to cost me a fortune. As you can probably tell already, I know nothing about cars. Several weeks later, the engine management light came on again, so it was another trip to the garage. It cost me another £35 but this time they told me I needed a new catalytic convertor at a cost of £600. I was shocked. My car is nine years old, but I'd had it since new so I know it was well looked after (rarely used & serviced every year). My friend told me about this and I found it easily on Amazon. I ordered two bottles and straight after use immediately noticed it was running far more smoothly. The downside was the dreaded engine management light was still on. My car is quite large and my friend suggested I order another bottle or two. Well another two bottles later (four in all) my car is running really smoothly and the dreaded light went off. I have waited several weeks til posting this review and the light is still off, and the car is running like new. I thoroughly recommend this product.

Don't even waste time with most of these excellent, justified reader reviews: just order it now. This from a very cautious type. In fact, it was a highly developed scepticism that prompted a search for a miraculous fuel/cat cleaner in the first place. I'll sound like an echo but here goes: Lexus RX300 auto with 100k miles (owned for 6 months). It passed on Lambda/HC, but failed on CO emissions: irony given that it's dual-fuel LPG. Analyser: idle/0.76 2nd fast idle/0.69 - both double the pass level of 0.3. Cue usual garage sucking of teeth; £1025 quote for new cat. I smelled a rat, as there was no whiff of sulphur, no cat noises, not even a dash warning light (which ruled out a dodgy O2 sensor). Second opinion at alternative MoT Test Centre resulted in advice to get a fuel/cat cleaner first. Duly purchased, Amazon delivered next day. Tank was almost empty: added the bottle of Cataclean and splashed 20 litres of unleaded on top. Took the car for a 15-mile dual-carriageway spin yesterday, followed by a further 15-mile warm-up just prior to the retest this morning. Happy ever after ending: car passed emissions and a definite improvement in pulling power/freer revs. Best way to describe the effect is as though it has clearer, deeper breathing. Incredible, after just 30-odd miles and am looking forward to better mpg as cited by other reviewers. Will certainly be re-ordering and using Cataclean periodically from now on. Thank you!!! Postage was OK. Had a error for 02 sensor one up. Read reviews to say this product gets rid of it. Well I followed the instructions. 1 day after putting it in the error went. Great stuff. Getting low on fuel so filled up as normal. Driving as normal. Half a tank later the error is back. Same one as before the 02 sensor. Didn't work. Looks like I am going to have to pay out and get a new sensor put in. Also did not notice a increase in mpg as it says. Can also get it cheaper in other places.

I think the Cataclean did help. The fuel economy has improved and so far so good no error message has re-appeared appeared.
