So many cool puzzles

It's great to see some puzzles for the first time.Some puzzles are needlessly small with plenty of space left on the page.BUT- the paper it is printed on is first class and you can rub out many,many,many times as you work through a challenge.

One of the best puzzle books I have come across in a long time. Most of the puzzles are gathered from Japanese sources but I wouldn't have come across such a good selection of them if not for this book.The author has a clear and engaging style of presenting the puzzles. Yeah, there is a bit of cute, pop culture Japanese words strewn around the book, but it's done respectfully.

The puzzles in this book are great fun! The book itself, however, is not of great quality and pages fall out immensely easily

And its driving me mad, beautiful puzzles I might soon finish one inside a fortnight!!A variety of different types of puzzle that you probably have not seen before, they are both intriguing and absorbing. The instructions are well written and the individual puzzle types in their won sections <thankfully> the answers are also included but be warned, once hooked these are not easy five minute coffee time puzzles and once this book is finished (in my case about two years)! you will be looking for more. Good advice included, buy yourself some good soft pencils a sharpener and a very good eraserJC

Alex Bellos explains how to solve each puzzle thoroughly. There are a good selection of puzzles and varied difficulty to help you master the techniques. Also gives some background reading so not just a book full of puzzles.

Not quite what I expected

This is an awesome book. If you love japanese logic puzzles this is the book for you. Introduces some great new puzzles. Only downside is, it has introduced me to the Nikoli web site which now takes up even more of my time !!!
