I've literally tried dozens of different black hair dyes over the 29 years of dying my hair but this is the best one by far. Excellent coverage. I bought two boxes as I have thick, long, curly hair and it was brilliant to use. Easy, non drip, washes off skin easy without staining. Deep black, no undertones of red or blue. Shiny and soft, no nasty smells and no burning or heat. I did use both of the very generous conditioners, (one in each box) afterwards as my hair is like a sponge and needs deep a conditioner. I left them on a good 10/15 minutes after rinsing dye out. I did keep the dye on for an hour but I always do with all dyes even though it says 30 minutes. I am very pleased. Hope it stays in 6/8 weeks, I'll let you all know with an update. Recommended by a middle aged goth teehee!

I really want to like this hair dye, the colour is great and leaves hair really shiny. It smells so much better than other dyes and the conditioner is lovely. However it didn’t last very long and within about two weeks grey hairs where coming back

Brilliant I’ve used another well known brand for years but gave this a go and it’s left my hair soft with vibrant colour ,this will be my go to hair dye from now

The results of the dye itself are really great, the best black dye I've used. The colour is a very solid, neutral, jet black that lasts around 2 months before starting to fade, and it only does so very gradually. It washes out quicker than most dyes too, so I don't spend ages in shower trying to scrub it off my scalp. Bought it multiple times now as it's the only permanent black dye that doesn't destroy my hair (and that's actually black). Unfortunately, pretty much everything else about it is a pain. For some reason a single box of product barely covers my hair: not even shoulder length, with an undercut that I don't dye, and a medium-fine texture. The gloves provided are absolutely useless, my hands aren't particularly big but they just don't fit, and if your skin is anything but bone dry the gloves will stick and tear extremely easily. I also find that I can't squish my hair up on top of my head when it has the dye in like I do with other dyes, since the product is a lot heavier, so my hair just hangs down and gets a bit messy.
