Best Strategy Game ever -- Star Wars Rebellion
Star Wars Rebellion is one of the best boardgames that I have ever played, without a doubt. The box is filled with components, which include various card sets, a board of the galaxy, and a whole load of miniatures representing the troops and ships wielded by both sides. It is esssentially a two player game, though it is possible to play with 2 players per side, each taking on a certain function within their faction. The Game is easily set up, but, I warn you, this is not generally a short game. In theory, it has from 16 to 18 turns, though the 20 plus games I have played generally end before or just on the 16turn. The turns, each divided into three sections, can take a long while to process, especially when the game starts to hot up after the first 2-3 turns. Fortunately, I have a space when I can leave a game setup, which is great. My longest game to date has probably taken 14 hours plus, but worth every minute of it. For Star Wars fans, this is a must buy. It captures the dilemma of a large strong sprawling empire versus a tiny handful of rebels very well. It is part war game, part secret strategy and all that goes with starting up a rebellion with about 6 units when your enemy has 25 or more, inclduring the inevitable star destroyers, and a death star of course. In one game, my secret base happenned to be right next to Coruscant, the centre of the empire. That game took some canny play, and I won almost by chance on the 16th turn, just as the empire, having eventually found my base, was about to hit it with their full might. Overall, a Great game. You will not be disapointed. Oh, and, unlike some games, the two booklets that describe both the rules, and more esoteric parts of the game are well laid out and answer most questions you might come across during play.

Amazing!
Great 2 player game! A single game can last 4 to 5 hours potentially. The cards are great and the miniatures are superb. May seem daunting at first but very easy to learn.

My favourite board game of all time
If you like turn based strategy games and you love Star Wars then you will love this. This has so much Star Wars in it! Let me explain. You can attempt to turn Luke to the dark side if you are the Empire. Or as rebels you can get Luke to train with Yoda. This one or many small Star Wars moments in the game. You can play 2 Vs 2 but the game is best with 1 Vs 1 with both players loving Star Wars. If you feel the game is confusing there are plenty of easy 10 mins tutorials on YouTube and a beautiful rule reference guide which I love! If I could choose to play any board game it’s this one! 👍

DUM DUM DUM, DUM DA DUUUMMM
Love this game! It's tense tactical and really lets me get my geek on! One player plays the Rebel Alliance and chooses a planet to hide their secret base and the other player takes control of the Imperials and tries to discover said base. The components are absolutely first class, and the miniatures themselves are real quality. Lots of cards to play and some basic deck construction adds to the tension. The combat mechanics have gotten a lot of hate but once you crack it, which doesn't take long, they're fine. This is one of those games every board gamer should at least play if not own. Another keeper for me.

If you love star wars and boardgames, it's a must buy.
If you love star wars and boardgames, it's a must buy. I read the rules the evening it arrived. The next day I was off work and played the game with my 15 year old son. We enjoyed it thoroughly and look forward to playing again. The first game took us 6 hours. Although I think normally replay would be 2-4, depending on how quick the rebel base is found. I can see what some others have said about the combat being a little awkward, but it's easy once you have got it in your head. Great game. Great quality. Hours of fun. If your a star wars and board game fan and cannot decide, I recommend taking the plunge and traveling to a galaxy far far away.

Excellent game for Star Wars.
Excellent game for Star Wars fans. I played 2 days after the game arrived. We played teams, and I was with the rebels. As a Rebel, you are overwhelmed by the empire, that has an impressive army from the start. Basically as a Rebel you have to resist, as is very difficult to beat the empire army. You have to avoid the empire discover your rebel phase, and try to comply with the missions to reduce the number of turns needed to win the game (14 by default). The only thing I don't like is that you can't bomb ground armies with a airspace fleet. So, the battles are divided between space combat and ground combat. But you can't conquer a system only with space ships if the opponent only has ground units in the system, whereas in the computer game was possible. The quality of the components are very good, as usual for a Fantasy Flight Games product. The miniatures are very nice, even the small ones have good detail.

Best board game I have ever played
This is an addictive board game based on the best Star Wars period. It is so thrilling how you either feel like the Rebels or the Empire. I have only played it 1v1, as I feel the magic would be lost by having 4 players. The expansion is also great; it enhances the combat a lot.

it is) but what you get inside is pretty impressive for that price
You might think it's very pricey (which yes, it is) but what you get inside is pretty impressive for that price. I've only gotten to try it once so far but several friends have expressed a desire to try it out after seing the intro video on the Fantasy Flight website, and I'm sure it will prove quite a success. This game holds lot of replayability which for my gaming group means it will get plenty of use in the years to come. Top game - well worth getting.

It's a heavy one to bring to the table, get setup and taught but oh boy, once you get it figured it's a treat. It combines hidden information, area control, resource management, card play, and star wars into a great story for the night! Where's the rebel base?!?!?! We must control the galaxy and crush them! How did they get over here? they were there?! oh my the story lines that get woven from getting luke out of carbonite and risking it all, to emperor trying to turn Admiral Ackbar to the dark side the little missions you carry out will be unique to your game and give you a story that you'll relive with your friend. It can play up to 4 people but really it's a 1:1 (though it can be fun to have side bar conversations and share the giddiness of almost getting caught out). The combat is a bit wonky sometimes but apparently the expansion corrects that.

Relive the key moments of the Rebellion!

Superb game! It takes a while to grasp all the rules but once you get them they all make sense and then game flows much faster. The first two games took about 4 to 5 hours but the latest one took about 2.5 or 3. Really nice game for star wars fans!

This is a great 'dudes on a map' style wargame but it has a nice mixture of simplicity and nuance, thematically enhanced through the inclusion of a number of different asymmetrical objectives with the key plot point revolving around the Empire finding the hidden Rebel Base. There are rules that create thematic interactions between the characters and a number of different cards add variety and flavour to the gameplay, creating the feeling of an unfolding story which reflects the major plot points from the original Star Wars trilogy (ep.4-6). The rules for combat are a nice combination of detail and simplicity which reflect the dynamics of the battles from the films - for example, there are black dice and red dice which reflect attacks that are more likely to hit smaller/faster units or larger/tougher units. Then if you send a capable leader into the battle you will also have some tactics cards to improve the outcome of the battle. These little rules all add up to enhance the feeling that you are recreating battles from Star Wars. I suspected, based on its BoardGameGeek ranking, that it would be a good game but I have been pleasantly surprised by just how well it reflects the dynamics of the theme. If you like big thematic action games and you are a Star Wars lover I recommend this very highly. I am very pleased to have found a copy before it goes OOP.
