Great Product
It is great. Arrived quickly. I ordered 2 and cut 1 in half when I realized how large they were and worked so well. I cut it to dry my dog’s paws and legs after morning outing. It washes well too! The whole one is for her after bath and it absorbs so well she is half dry then. Found so many uses for them.

Beyond awesome on non porous surfaces!
I clean for a living. These are in my toolbox at all times. Fantastic on glass. Never leaves spots. Great for dishwashing, it gets dishes, silverware and glasses clean bttr than cloths/ sponges. Careful on porous surfaces. Over time it can affect the finish. One cloth can be cut into many manageable pieces. One of my all-stars

My wife is insane about this thing.
My wife was extremely pleased to find that this item is Made in Japan--both because she takes it as a sign of quality and because she's Made in Japan herself. We're also familiar with this kind of product in Japan, where it's called a "gum towel." I bought two actually, one for her and one for me to use on my bicycles--thinking it would be something like a super absorbant chamois rather than a gum towel. It's certainly super absorbant, but doesn't have the chamois quality I would need to, say, polish my bike frames. That is to say it's more sticky than soft, more like a piece of foam rubber or neoprene than a cloth. So if I just hosed down the bike while cleaning and wanted to get on with the next steps of polishing and relubing, this towel is a great way to dry the bike when it's neither hot nor dry enough of a day for the bike to dry out on it's own in a fair amount of time. It really draws the water out too, from every knook and cranny, so no need to use DW-40 before lubing my nice clean parts. My wife uses ours for everything from picking up spills to quickly drying wet clothing that can't go in the dryer. If you wash a sweater for example, it's best to roll it up in the Absorber before laying it out to dry, as this will cut your drying time to at least half and make it less of a hazard that the sweater will get out of shape. We use my far more grungy one as you might use a wet vac. It actually does a better job than a wet vac though. Add that I've used several gum towels in Japan, mostly for swimming, and this is by far the thickest one I've used--therefore more absorbant. And at 27" x 17" it's big enough to be used as a bath towel without having to ring it out over and over again. BOTTOM LINE: I recommend this particular make and model over others simply based on the large size and the thickness of the towel. Don't expect to use this to polish or dust, as the texture of the towel is far too sticky for that. I initially searched for the Sham-Wow on Amazon because I had seen it on TV, and still would like to try it out because it seems like it might be more chamois like--where you could wipe and polish with it. Overall, we're thrilled with the quality, size, and how well this item works. Absolutely 5 stars.

Best product ever
I've been buying these for years. I use one for months and months as my main bath towel after showering. For first-time users, you do need to wet them and wring them out before using them each time. (They dry very stiff and won't work to towel you off that way. But quickly wetting them & wringing them out makes them very soft, absorbent, and chamois-like.) And they take up a very small footprint on your towel rack -- much smaller than a conventional big bath towel. They easily absorb all the water on your body after a shower (without wringing them out again). They dry very quickly, too, when hung up to air dry. These wear nearly forever. You can easily keep one going well over a year as a daily bath towel. If they start looking slightly ragged, you can move them to your garage and use them as a chamois for drying your car after you wash it. They work brilliantly for that, too. (You'll get more years of use out of it that way. These are nearly indestructible and last for years and years.) I hope they never stop making these -- they are one of my favorite products. Helpful hint: Wash these (by themselves) once in a while on the SANITARY setting of your washer in the hottest water you can get, using your regular laundry soap. NO BLEACH, by the way, which destroys these. Then select a double rinse cycle to get every last bit of soap out of them. Do not put in dryer. Instead, air dry. A great product.

Grab a few for very large surface area. But get avice on proper stain care.
Works like a charm for car drying. It's almost scary how absorbent it is and fun. I'm lucky enough to have a towel ringer at work and can use one towel for one car in about 5 minutes. I finish up any remaining draining drips with a microfiber on the car, since you dont want to be dragging a dry towel across dry paint and scratch it up. Without the ringer, on a compact sedan will go a quarter or halfway through drying before I need a serious wringing out. Wringing out by hand gets about 80 percent of the water out, but it leaves beads and streaking. I recommend at least 2 for a sedan and no wringer. If you fold into squares it'll go a lot further. As with any spills or car drying. Avoid the trim and basically anything not paint or glass. As you will take grease and embedded dirt from the car with you across your paint and possibly ruin the towel. There's always a spot you missed. As for cleaning Ive just used mostly water rinsing until clean or a small amount of detergent in the wash, no dryer. Grease stains are still there, so I am at a loss there. Thankfully! This is merely just a name branded PVA towel (polyvinyl alcohol) and you can find these anywhere online for the same price if not way cheaper and larger.
