superb stylus, allows fine control despite its size!
Since getting my tablet I have messed around with sketching apps and things like Bamboo for note taking but never really got on with them, mainly due to the stylus I was trying at the time. I got close to good with the Wacom bamboo stylus but it still didn't leave me satisfied with the results...my cursive writing didn't look much more than a scrawl and sketches were nothing special...the accuracy wasn't there and the soft spongy rubber tips drove me mad! After spending some time researching on line I thought I would try the Cosmonaut. Its simplicity appealed and while it looked bulky, I liked the idea of a firmer tip and a more robust stylus. I have to say I am instantly hooked! It is comfortable to hold and feels more natural than a normal slim stylus. It makes me want to sketch and doodle for hours, and despite what you might think given its size, it is amazingly accurate. I find my handwritting is much improved on the bamboo app, drawing is easy in Sketch pro, no skipping or jerking, very very little lag if at all. No aching hands after a while. Contrary to some users I also found I didnt need to press harder than normal, in fact I normay have a light touch when it comes to writing but no problem here at all. It is also perfectly possible to do very fine detail work with it, whatever you may think. As long as your app allows you to adjust line weight, you can be as fine you want to be with it. It is robust and not lightweight but i don't find that a disadvantage, I prefer that extra bit of weight over the lighter slimmer stylus. It feels solid and i'm not afraid it might break if I throw it down or stick it in my pocket. In fact I am so impressed by this that I think I will have to buy a second one just in case I loose this one! Well done Studio Neat, this is a superb tool to use and I am very impressed indeed. And you know...there is something just so pleasurable about using a stylus that reminds you of a crayon... even if works like a fine liner pen!!!

Simple, sublime stylus
Love this chunky stylus. It’s well weighted and feels comfortable in the hand, with a rubberised shaft. The tip has some give, depressing under pressure. In all, the Cosmonaut is a class act with a premium feel. Simple yet sublime. It is a pleasure to use in graphics apps like Sketch. You might think its tip is too large for detailed work, but when you consider that you can zoom in on areas to work in detail, the size of the nib no longer poses a problem. My only grumble is the packaging. At first I was impressed with the stylish tube the cosmonaut comes in. Then I tried to open it. The stylus was so tightly wedged into the cardboard tube that I had to use a knife and scissors to surgically remove it from its cardboard sheath. The cardboard is very tough and thick - comprising of many thin layers, so it was not easy to cut into the tube to release the stylus. I was lucky to avoid scratching the stylus; I could imagine it being very easy to accidentally cut into the rubber of the stylus whilst trying to prise the tube open.

Good weight but that's where the good stuff ends
Ok this is the second stylus I've had in 6 months, I got my first one from GAME in the uk for £10 can't remember what it was called but it was thin metal had a small clip at the end like a pen would have. And a really sensitive tip,you could really swipe as lights as you could with this and it would work, this tip was accurate and made nice thin lines for drawing with the app "sketch time" the only problem with that was it was too light, anyway back to the cosmonaut, it feels great it has a real nice weight to it, not too heavy and not too light, great for rolling about in your hand in, it's grip is perfect, that's where the good things end, coming to the business end, the tip, you would think the tip and the actual stylus was 1 thing, except its actually 2 things the tip and the stem, the tip is quite loose, it's that loose you can twist it around, also when swiping through apps on the ipad it actually takes some force to press down to swipe across, this is the same when you want to do anything like type, draw e.t.c. Wen drawing with sketch time the lines are thick, I wouldn't recommend this app for drawing with, Instead with my last stylus you didn't need to use any force you could just do it as lightly as you wanted, with this stylus you have to press and swipe, and it picks up a lot of dirt because of the rubberised feel, but that's not a big issue, the issue here is, the tips not sensitive enough for the ipad, it works but the reviews this things been getting you would think it was the best thing since sliced bread. I wouldn't recommend this for drawing with, it's an ok stylus but its only s mid range one, there are far better ones out there to try, save your money this is not worth £20, if it was £10 the it would be justifiable.

Three Stars
Great tool, unfortunately it's completely round and rolls of the table easily.

Cosmonaut Stylus - excellent for all models of iPad
Cosmonaut - Wide-Grip Stylus for Capacitive Touch Screens by Studio Neat I've had a few stylus's for use on my iPad the last of which was the mobileme Acupen which was very good but the touch end would invariably wear quickly and tear the rubber leaving it either half usable or totally useless. This cosmonaut seems so far to be of higher quality and by its design seems more robust by some degree whilst still retaining touch sensitive quality. It's the thickest stylus I've used, but that is an advantage and is very comfortable to use because of this. It's a simple design of aluminium shaft covered in black matt rubber material for good grip and a black nib which is very responsive and appears very durable in comparison to other brands Ive used prior. I've used the Cosmonaut on first generation iPad, the iPad 2 and new iPad third generation and stylus excellently performs on all three models. I bought the Cosmonaut after it received the best in its class award in an apple review magazine and I'd have to agree that this is the case after previously using acupen, griffin and Wacom Bamboo, all of which are good but don't perform nor are as well designed as the Cosmonaut which to date, is the best I've used. All in all, the Cosmonaut is a quality bit of kit that I use daily and can highly recommend.

Great stylus
Ive tried a few stylus over the years and most of them dont really amount to much and end up in a dusty drawer somewhere, totally forgotten about. This one is definitely different, a huge step above the cheap ones you will see littered all over amazon yet incredibly simple in its design. Its big and chunky with a very round tip, so don't expect pin point accuracy, but the extra grip you get from the size and the balance of it helps to counter that effect and actually makes the whole thing feel very natural. I would have loved to have given this a full 5*, but for some reason my iPad Air 2 didn't recognise the screen presses every time, resulting in the occasional broken and unpredictable line. You can certainly still work with it, but its just not quite perfect. I also found the packaging a little bit stiff, which was weird and not a big deal, but took some real finger tip strength to get out of the cardboard the first time.

Best stylus I ever bought!
Bought this for a child with severe dexterity problems, haven't looked back - has helped child to access touch screen tablets with ease and due to it's thickness is able to hold like a normal pen - simply fantastic. Some have said that it's a little heavy but we don't agree, we think it's actually a nice weight and gives the hand 'feedback' by resting nicely when being held in pincer (tripod) grip. The weight and thickness keeps it down on the fleshy skin bit between the thumb and forefinger making it easy to maintain the pincer (tripod) grip and increase fine motor function. Other stylus's are too thin and light and if you have problems with pincer grip your fingers can roll off and the stylus 'flicks up and forward' - which is quite demoralising when your trying your hardest - if you have problems getting food into your mouth using chopsticks then you know what I mean. (If you imagine that thin stylus's are your 'chopsticks' then this stylus is your 'fork') It can also be used in the more basic fist grip, so if you can't manage a pincer (tripod) grip or thin stylus's elude you then this could be the one for you. We did take a risk due to the price but it was well worth it.

Not good.
Be aware that you need to put a lot of pressure to right or even touch an icon. I've returned mine.

The best stylus for SN Kids
Brilliant. I love the weight of the stylus—no pressure is needed. The size is great for those who have difficulties holding smaller ones. I keep it in the packaging that it comes in.

Perfekt.

Great stylus for MS hands
I bought this stylus for my mother, who has MS. The wide barrel, grippy surface, and weight make this stylus easier for her to hold and use than any other stylus we've tried, and by a very wide margin. The design is excellent for people with manual dexterity challenges. I tested it myself, and was very impressed with how well it worked both for hand writing and simple drawing.
